This realism would be unbelievably terrifying in a full on horror game

2007: Can it run crysis? 2024: Can it run Unrecord?

One big reason it looks so real is the sense of depth more games should implement this

When you have to prove it’s NOT real, you know you have something amazing

For the people that think it's fake, or think it's cut scenes, nope, the developer posted proof that this is real time control of a game. It's just simply amazing...

Imagine how terrifying this would be if this is a horror game.

What a time to be alive, man. Think of it like this: in just about 50 years, gaming has gone from two lines bouncing a dot across the screen to looking almost indistinguishable from real life.

To me, the most fascinating aspect of the graphics is the light effects. Like moving from a lit room to a dark one and how the camera adjusts is beyond amazing.

This shows how with most big-budget videogames, photorealism is often not actually the goal - rather what we want is a convincing and super high-fidelity fantasy world. This is very different from that. This is very impressive and very interesting. Looks to me like a lot of the visual realism comes from environment design, highly detailed animation, model texturing, and rendering effects that mimic a small camera with a small lens and auto exposure. Esp the way the trees and sky outside are rendered is very true to that.

Can we all imagine how long this took to create? The intelligence level of the developers.... all of the research.... the vehicles layout.... stairs, broken things all over.... the way the camera moves, the bodies as they fall, the way the gun interacts with the scenario.... this game has had a lot of sleepless nights, skipping meals..... ALLOT of energy put into it

Now imagine this, but in VR. You’d be playing life inside of life at that point.

The camera, the animations, the graphics. Top notch.

The lighting, animation, movement, sound, everything is on point! holy cow they even got the rubble and detail right in the environment. This is insane

There's no way in hell that this is gameplay and not real life footage. This is insane.

Amazing graphics. The daylight ones are nearly indistinguishable from a real video. The dark scenes are less real. But overall, amazing.

for some people thinking this is recorded and fake. if you look closely you can see some glitches. the body does not have a shadow 0:34 and if you look closely you can see that the rocks and assests do have some odd things to slightly linger its a game

Anybody else weirdly amazed yet creeped out by how photorealistic this game is? We are slowly tiptoeing closer to the uncanny valley here folks.

This makes a non VR game look like a VR one. IF this can be played with keyboard and mouse without a VR headset, it's just perfect. Unmatched level of immersion. Imagine the devs seeing all the comments of ppl saying they think it's fake. That's actually a huge compliment.

This is honestly so impressive. If the animation and shake was tweaked just the tiniest bit then this would almost be inrecognisable as a game

There are certain points where you can actually tell it’s a game but it looks fantastic

The simulation of the camera exposure is *one* of the brilliant ways this looks like real life camera.

I’m convinced this is real footage and they created a game just to cover it up

Would be cool if there was a watermark option in the final game. Kind of like the axon bodycams.

Let's not fall in love with teaser gameplay people, the past has taught us so much.

They need settings to be available for when your killed in the game you have to start completely at the beginning of the game and depending on how you were injured and where it will affect your gameplay so you can't take a magical medkit and completely heal your gunshot or stabbed wounds or a broken arm/leg or let's say you stepped on a rusty nail that to will affect your stealth. Now that will absolutely make you play to survive with caution.

Apart from the amazing photorealism and animation the sound effects of this game are insanely real 🤯

Only flaw was the lingering/thick gunsmoke. Hopefully they fix/nix that. Guns don't do that unless they're wet, which, in key situations might be cool, but not if dry.

what makes it videorealistic is the way it mimmicks not the camera movement but how cameras suffer with dynamic lighting ,especially the sky being shown as grey and blurred when exposure struggles

It's really incredible... and very original. We are definitely in an era where breakthrough is needed.

Graphics aside, the fact that the gun jammed at 1:21 and you have to manually take the mag out, rock the slide, and put the mag back in shows the amount of effort towards not just the graphics, but the gameplay here is astonishing

This literally made me think it was real life until the end.

Easily one of the best first-person cameras I've seen. Combined with the excellent animation, lighting, and materials it gives a sense of striking realism. Kudos to the artists and engineers who made it happen.

I'm really interested in how he is handling the camera's movements. It seems that the hand is controlled by a mouse, so I'm not sure how he managed to let the player rotate his head this naturally. This is a top-level talent right here. Can't wait to try it out.

So impressed with how the movement works in accordance to the environment, never seen a more immersive fov and space.

The game graphics are crazy!

Its not the graphics that made this looked insanely real but the body movement and animation and filter this dev implemented is near perfection which created the illusion that it looks real. Also the lighting

The lighting of this videogame is just insane. Also, is incredible how they use the bodycam video quality and how it ajusts to light to make the game more real.

All this yet we still don't have Half-Life 3.

Unrecord feels like a game that should be called UnLeak

This is the kind of graphics we need for a zombie outbreak video game. Something that was open world would be intense. Excited for this one forsure

Honestly the animations to me are more impressive than the graphics. The micro-adjustments the guy makes with his hands while holding the pistol really sells it, along with the fact that the gun seems to move more than the camera itself, unlike most FPS's today where the gun looks like a static mesh stuck to the side of your screen.

The biggest accomplishment as developers of game is people accusing you of using pre-recorded footage instead of a game.

Whoever made this game. PLEASE take your time with it. PLEASE. This already looks like a masterpiece. Take as much time as you need, even if it takes you ten years to perfect it 😅

This is Unreal Engine 5. It literally looks like real life but it is a real gameplay.

Imagine being able to implement this kind of realism into VR, we're getting there and its crazy to think about.

Ready Or Not set a new bar for this genre and I'm so unbelievably here for what these devs and others can showcase in it.

The gun jamming and tactical reloads are what really did it for me aside for the out of this world graphics. Cant wait to play it

What makes this better is the fact that most shooters have the player's perspective be about in the area around the character's chest where a bodycam would be, so it just fits.

If this is real it’s literally the most pivotal point in gaming

This/These dev(s) have mastered manipulating light transition, head wobble, lens distortion, smoke effects, fine detail animations, weapon manipulation, and many more minor details that occur in our everyday lives. It's truly impressive. The "photorealism" is nothing without these elements to actually make it feel real.
