For our course at Unregistered Academy on the history of the relationship between the US and Ukraine, I conducted an interview with Professor Per Rudling of Lund University in Sweden, whose unpublished work on the decades-long collaboration between the CIA and Ukrainian Nazi collaborators reveals the source of the current Ukrainian government's official ideology and the origin of the war with Russia.

Wow, so much information here. Just when I think I’ve got a handle on (at least some parts) of the Ukraine/Russia conflict, along comes the Professor and blasts open another yet another layer. Will need to a) have another listen to this podcast and b)hunt out some of the articles Rudling referenced her. Thanks Thad, really enjoyed this.

In Kiev, what used to be Gen. Nikolai Vatutin Blvd (the liberator of Kiev) was renamed Roman Shukhevych Blvd. Vatutin died of wounds sustained during a UPA ambush in early 1944. Shukhevych led the UPA.

this talk was a challenge to understand. at its end, I am not convinced that the antecedents of the present war in Ukraine can be traced to CIA collaboration with Ukrainian Nazi collaborators at the end of WWII. It's an interesting idea, but the evidence is not clear enough as the talk was convoluted and excessively long.

The guy did not study history well Poland and Finland is all the former Russian Empire and everyone who touched Nazism died or will die soon

Not sure about Finland, but when exactly was Poland former Russian Empire? Do you mean during partitions, between 1795 and 1918 ? Russia didn't even exist until Peter the Great; Most of Ukraine was Polish until at least the end of 17th century. It all depends how far back in history do you wish to go;
