Regenerative braking in electric bicycles (eBikes) converts the bike’s kinetic energy into electrical energy to recharge the battery when the brakes are applied. This is achieved by having the motor act as a generator during braking, capturing energy that would otherwise be lost as heat through friction brakes. This feature is particularly effective in scenarios like descents or urban stop-and-go traffic, extending the battery’s charge and reducing wear on mechanical components. While it helps in supplementing the battery’s charge rather than fully recharging it, regenerative braking is more commonly found in mid-drive eBikes and adds to both sustainability and maintenance efficiency.

(I shouldn't be riding because of my shoulder injury is healing, but I can't stay off these). SS is great, but I wouldn't mind better brakes and roll on wheelies at 40mph vs 20mph lol
