The actual reason Marudhanayagam was dropped is cause when Kamal Haasan was about to properly start production after the Queen Elizabeth visit, the Pokhran nuclear test blast happened - which was condemned by many countries at the time including the US. Kamal was about to receive funding from an American studio but they backed off at the last minute because of fear of backlash from the US govt in funding an Indian film. So in a weirdly twisted way, Abdul Kalaam (the project director of Pokhran) is one of the reasons Marudhanayagam never saw the light of day lol
As a kamal sir’s fan i agree everything you said except your last sentence. Seriously ? According to you Dr APJ abdul kalam is the reason for this movie to be dropped. Oh brother you have to educate yourself with some authentic information not your assumptions. - firstly the Pokhran test was a nuclear bomb test conducted and funded by the Indian government and not by sir abdul kalam. - The reason why pokhran is important is that India may face a nuclear threat from China and pakistan and other superpowers or nuclear nations who don’t want the nation to acquire this weapon as it will diminish their power. - As an indian for me i feel very proud about the succes of pokhran which is very important and essentiel for the defence and security of india rather than watching a good movie just for an entertainment.
The story of Rana didn't got developed coz of failure of Kochaidayaan!!! When they were about to shoot for Rana, Due to health issues of Rajni, they decided to do Kochaidayaan, a prequel to Rana in an animated version.
"Chennaiyil oru malaikaalam" as usual GVM , enna story lam theriyathu but I love the title, cause i'm not from chennai and i only visited Chennai after my college. Its actually a dream to visit Chennai. When i first saw the title and poster, i do no but love the theme
Historicals that could've been made/should be made - Sasi Kumar - Suriya (based on Oomathorai) & Vetrimaaran - Suriya (Vetrimaaran actually narrated a historical to Suriya before Vaadivaasal). Hope both of these movies happen in future.
Great list. Marmayogi is a good shout for inclusion in part 2 as is Thalaivan Irukindran. Personally, these are two movies that I look forward to being revived.

One of the main reasons for Marudhanayagam to be dropped is because of the Pokhran Nuclear Test that happened which Kamal himself had said in one of the interviews. Because That test India came out as a Nuclear Power and the International company backed out of producing the film

Chennayil Oru Mazhalikalam Vettai Mannan - Nelson's debut Danush missing out in "Aiyrathil Oruvan" he was supposed to be Chola prince. Anyways Parthiban Sir was exceptional as King. Are worthy mentions. 24am Pulikesi - without Vaigai puyal 1998 1st Enthiran - with Kamal Gajini with Ajith Neruku Ner - with Vijay and Ajith Are real disappointments that didn't continue. There was rumour in 2011 about Ponniyin Selvan Vijay as Vanthiyathevan Vikram as Karikalan Mahesh Babu as Raja Raja Cholan I am not sure weather anything took off apart from rumours.
I didn't know that was unreleased movie or unfinished movie, production -AGS , stars-simbu and Alia Bhatt & music was yuvan, Director- roi , movie name was ketavan, before or after simbu's kaala movie.simbu looks like a devil 😈 in title ketavan. In the movie songs are superb,famous songs "en endhaiyathai thirudi sendravalea"
