Good job. Good video. The DNO should swap that incoming fuse carrier to a GRP unit. Customer should be able to get that done for free due to its age. If there really lucky DNO might add an isolator. Keep up the great RU-vid videos.
My young helper decided to see what a certain valve was for,🤔 just then super hot beef fat poured onto the back of my hand, cooked a few layers of skin I now have skin from my leg/arse on me hand. another great video lads it's a great distraction I going to roll a blunt and watch part 2 of the rewire, tell paddy he did a great job on the fuse board
Another good entertaining and informative video Sean and what a cracking job Ryan has done of that box,you certainly have taught him well, looking forward to the next one
Nice one Sean 👌👌 Ryan smashing board tidy af 😎😎 when I get you lads over to mine I think will let Ryan to do the board change (Verso of course😉) and will let you do the apprentice stuff 😜😜 keep em coming mate 🙌🏻🙌🏻👍👍
Let's get this show on the road Hold tight 😆😆😆 Top quality as always Sean. I can remember them old bath and sink switches. Bath done the immersion at the bottom of the tank and sink done the one near the top. I take it the lighting circuit is wired in twin aluminium cable 1/.044 equivalent size to 1.0mm 😆😆😆
Mk is still making them and I think electrium under the voles name make them. I've noticed this last couple of years scolmore is starting to really come to the front of electrical accessories after having being about for a number of years but being unknown. I noticed they make boards which I didn't know about.
@@adierob1 the reason I use them is because I know I am guaranteed any accessories in and shape etc to match anything I’m installing. And yea they do have a consumer unit but it’s just the Gpro kit one off Amazon rebranded. Not a fan
We use Hager and square d Schneider boards but the way the industry is now they are all nearly made in the same factory with a different name put on them. Not a fan of contactum stuff but like you say scolmore click has a good range and I like the way you can swop the backs out for different configurations. I like your fuse idea on the fan isolator that's neat and the way to go to comply with the fan manufacturers instructions
haha.... hate it when spare ways are labelled SPARE in huge letters, or even small letters ......but hey nice tidy work and very informative videos of real world electrical works.
I’m on the verge of don’t like it labelled spare but I also don’t like assuming ones spare when quoting then you open it to find out the bus bar has been cut down and it’s not useable too 🤣 I can’t make my mind up! Thanks for watching mate 👏🏼
Thank you mate. Yes it was on the consumer side, you couldn’t see the tap on the video it was half way between the bottom of the unit and half under the unit.
Great video pal! Good to see Ryan progressing with an awesome CU change! How do you code things? Do you use the napit codebreaker book or the usual, use your best judgement ie the cable in the cupboard you changed to C2? Thanks mate
I did have the book but I lost it somewhere. But most of the time I’d just use my own judgment unless it’s something bizarre I wouldn’t know what to code it. But yea the cable for eg, I’d imagine the book will say c3 for an unsupported cable but the book can’t see how easily it can be pulled out the back of that socket for eg, so in that sense it’s not gospel imo.
@@Cablesmith cheers mate thank you for replying! Great picking your mind and I appreciate the time out of your day. I struggle with some coding doing mocks at moment as some can easily be another code but always learning :)
Hi mate hope your well... do you cover alot of areas or just the Manchester area? ... im in need of completing my nvq and im wondering if I was to offer free labour hours would it be of interest to help me complete my nvq portfolio? Thanks mate keep up the good work
Thank you for the reply mare I'm nottingham based been a long and costly journey lol.. im almost there just the final stretch to go its not easy to just study anymore you have to get a competent person to sign of your portfolio which is good to some degree but you have domestic electricians less qualified as such that can fast track and sign off work that your unable too even after how long studying ect no disrespect yo any type of electrician out there ect I just don't get the common sense they've used to hitch the criteria together... but then having no resources from companies to help you ... it costs alot of money but you hit a brick wall ... thanks for the good luck wishes and continue with your vids I wish you great success although I'm sure you don't need it. All the best
@@liamwoodward1552 there has always been stupid criteria but seems like it’s getting worse! my best advice would be to get a CSCS card and get on site as a subcontractor/electricians mate.
I have cscs card already but I think that may be the best thing try get on a electricians mate short term just to fulfill this nvq malarkey abit of a nightmare but thanks for the help I really appriciate this more then you could realise.
I would of thought "Tony" from the DNO would of fit an isolator in the tails save having the fuse to be removed in the future if any work is required on the electrical side.
