If you get the itch later on, install 1/2w NOS carbon comp resistors instead of carbon film. And use larger wattage carbon comp insread of metal oxide for the output tubes, and the tone will have less glare and not feel as loud. The rone will be more woody, smokey, and punchy.
@@thatampguy I'm run a restoration company and can tell you I've not met one other tech who actually cares about tone. Most of them use a tone generator and nothing more to test their "work". There are many other details that significantly affect tone too, like fuse direction, but try talking to another tech about that "witchcraft"!
They were the stock 15 inch drivers in that giant silver face refrigerator cab. I didn't pop it open to see, but they reminded me of those old CTS AlNiCo speakers.
My uncle had one of these from 1969 and it had Fender Utah 12" speakers in his big cab. I don't know what they sounded like, long since blown. Thanks for the reply.
Believe it or not, this is what a healthy bandmaster Reverb sounds like. A big part of the magic lies in the speakers and output, transformer for what it's worth so if you can the parts, just follow the AB763 schematic and Bob's your uncle.
