It looks like a picture of DDR troops invading West Berlin, with a USA APC destroyed in the background? Not sure if you mean hopium that the DDR would win against the US. The US had very few forces in West Berlin at the time so the DDR/Soviets could beat them on that small front. But as history shows they never dared to pull the trigger in the first place.
@@jenswaring1682 Yes that is basically what I meant. You just answered yourself by the last sentence of yours. US is not really important however. This almost fetishizing-like stance and romanticizing, that one side, in this case East Germany, would pull the trigger. --- There is really nothing to be proud of anyway, since if it really happened in real life, the DDR army, such as other armies of the Warsaw Pact, would be completely anihilated during that. They were meant to be spearheading offensive against West, then be destroyed by tactical nuclear strikes and by opposing armies in the process. Basically nation-like cannon fodder, warzone and then wasteland. --- That is, why I find this to be hopium/copium. Someone had a wet dream about socialist dominance. Or at least wet dream about anihilation of his own side. Ergo - This picture is manifestation of that cataclysmic event, that would end the whole DDR and Germany itself in the process. Yet it is glorifying it for sake of some small victories over US forces. (Cope right here and Hope as well.)
I am not even a commie infact I hate them but I must say if the cold war would have come to the point of a hot war im pretty sure West Berlin would have been captured within the first 24 hours of the war because it was completely surrounded by East Germany.
