Yes …as an RN I’ve been in these situations too many times to count …here’s how I look at this : you’re a healer , a God given talent given to you …that does not limit you to just treating your own patients ! We are all one …in consciousness..so having said that I usually ask a question (or two ) when I see something …if they seem to be interested I ask them …do you want the truth or would you prefer I tell you what you’d like to hear ….this works about 80% of the time …most people have blind faith and trust in their own physicians but that doesn’t mean they are hearing the truth !!! Carry on Doc ….your one of the rare ones!!!! 💕

Speaking to Annette. If you saw a fellow human being on fire; would you tell them they are on fire or just let them burn? You would tell them of course! I have had occasions where God has told me to tell someone something. Most of these times I know they won’t like it. The first time this happened I told the Lord that they would not like it. He said to me,”the success of the surgery is not the responsibility of the instrument but the surgeon and the patient. Better to tell them and give them a chance. Even if it means possibly losing their friendship. I love the work you do! Keep it up!!!

I told my brother he needs to exercise. He said "...ya I know". I replied "You need to start exercising or you're going to die". Now we go to the gym together. He was over weight, had dangerously high blood pressure that the doctor was having dificulty bringing under control with meds. We were working on some flooring and he couldn't get up off the floor and needed my help (we are in our 50's). Thus the conversation.

You have a very special gift, Dr Boz. And I am so grateful that you share your knowledge with us. I have gone from an A1c of 10.5 to 4.9 from following your suggestions. I feel so much better. I asked my endocrinologist why he never mentioned keto to me in ten years. He said most patients won’t do it, so he stopped telling them. But he is missing out in helping patients who would take action with the correct information like myself.

I absolutely concur! It IS difficult to point out an obvious medical condition to a loved one or dear friend. MY approach is now to wait until the time is right, and frame the discussion as a problem I formerly had. If you do this, there is empathy on their part and then I will offer up some journal articles or videos for them to watch and from which they may learn. My “story” includes the changes I’ve seen in my health and how it has impacted my life. After some time,I will revisit the topic with them to find out how they are doing and offer them my support.

Dr Boz you are amazing! I "was" a Type 2 doing 11 units of insulin a day. Watching your videos I took your advice about not eating after dark. Next advice was fasting and did that. Bought a Keto Mojo meter. Also drink a tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar with water before my meals. I am now on my 36 day without insulin. My meter says I am now in Ketosis and I feel great. Blood pressure is now what it should be. Thank you so much for all your advice.

I got caught again yesterday with my husband talking to him about the aspartame in his diet Pepsi. It's the only thing he has left in terms of pleasure in life, he replied. Really?😳 So I will never learn... I must learn to only say when someone asks for my opinion or advice.😔 At the same time, when we hear them complaining about various ailments, it's difficult to shut up, isn't it? 🤔I'm tired of the people I love getting sick or dying and the more the circle shrinks, the more we can't help but want to help them... me at least🤦‍♀

Dr. Boz - totally amazing story. Thank you - I would rather hear the truth every day than not be told. Read your book, it changed my life. I've given advice about the Keto lifestyle, and while some listen others don't for their own reasons. I figure when you do it out of love for others - you can really never go wrong. My Mom always told us, "It's not what you say - it's how you say it...." God bless.

Great Video ! I am an AEMT and I also Teach new EMTs and I have been Carnivore since Jan 12 of this year. I now take extra time to talk about Low Carb Etc. But Family, My Mother is a Retired RN and at 81 in good health she wiggs out sometimes and I have to talk her off the ledge and set her straight. It seems Like she has forgotten most of her training in the medical field. So I tell it to family straight up. Working in EMS I tend not to sugar coat anything (no Pun Intended). Thanks for your you have helped me a ton and I have reversed my Type 2 No meds and great A1C. Brian

5 years ago I embraced the keto lifestyle and educating myself at RU-vid medical school. Best thing I ever did thanks to Dr. Boz and a few select others. My health at 66 is better now then it has ever been! The key was to stop listening to mainstream medical advice in part. Well… in my exuberance at first I shared this to all my loved ones and friends and used myself as an example, “ see, it works!” Needless to say, I have fewer friends now and my family avoids me mostly. I’ve learned my lesson. But, it still frosts me when a personal friend of mine, a physician, gives ME unsolicited advice to get back on statins, go vegetarian, and to shut up about keto and carnivore because I never went to medical school and that advice is causing great harm!

Coworkers noticed my weight loss (60 pounds) and when they asked how I did it, I gave them a copy of the Keto Continuum and my phone number and recommended your videos. My best friend and her teenage daughter eat keto/carnivore. My friend had a dbl mastectomy 5 years ago and her lymphadema is much better. Also, knowing that cancer loves sugar, she has eliminated 90% of sugar intake. 1 coworker has lost 40 lbs and is managing diabetes much better. The other coworker has many health problems and is a very particular eater. He has reduced the sugar intake in half, it's a start. My husband and son have followed my lead to a degree. My 75 yo husband has a very healthy immune system. Neither of us are on any medications.😍

It's the hardest part, not to push this lifestyle on people who are not ready yet. You feel so good yourself, you want everyone to feel that way. But some need the pain first, before they are ready to alter their life. Don't take away this powerful motivator prematurely.

I have been low carb for about a year and intermittently fast. I lost about 65 lbs. in that period. Just talked to my health care provider a couple days ago. She went on and on about how good my lab results were. The only thing that wasn't extremely good was my LDL, which was just slightly high. My overall cholesterol is good. I am 65 years old, have no aches and pains to speak of and require no medications. I feel better than I did 10 years ago. To say you are onto something is greatly understating it. Keep up the good work. Have a wonderful day.

While I am at the family barbecue playing touch football with my grandsons and their friends (I'm 77) the rest of the adults are gorging themselves at the table on chips and dips and cakes and pastries and cola's an pies which I refuse to eat, they tell me that my diet is going to kill me. The only time I hear any of them refuse to eat something is when they say it conflicts with one or more of the medications they are taking. I take no medications. All the adults (but me) are obese, usually spend more than one day per week visiting their cadre of health specialists, do not want to hear a word about what I eat and why. They find the notion of a 6 hour daily eating window and no snacking as horrifying. I have one doctor. My primary care physician whom I visit once every 12 - 18 months. Seriously, they do not want to hear about my healthy lifestyle. I have finally backed off and just tell them I will be happy to discuss it with any of them when they are ready. They simply cannot connect the dots!

I reversed my T2 diabetes by following a Keto diet. My wife has a number of 'aches and pains' that seem to be accumulating and she loves her carbs! Without forcing the idea onto her, I just gave her a few suggestions that doctors say might help people with lots of different condtions. She recently said 'Can you help me try this Keto thing?.' Of course (as the chef in the house) I was more than happy to oblige. Softly, softly approach seemed to work.

I've been unconscious on the floor and in the hospital this month. The hospital gave me 4 pieces of potatoes to reduce my carbohydrates. I've been fasting, eating minimally and doing what I could this past month. I've lost 25 pounds. I'm at 140#. I'm 80 years old. I've read your books. I am now physically not able to walk yet. I fell hard at least 6 times this month. My head bounced off the floor where I lay badly injured. My glucose won't give up. It was 172 earlier today. I wish there were more doctors who recognized Metabolic Symptoms and knew how to get the right amount of ketones to someone like me.

I definitely would want to know! Glad you shared your knowledge! I was telling anyone who would hold still about the Ketogenic diet. now I usually wait until they approach me, about my weight loss. An example of an exception: While waiting for my eye glasses paperwork to be completed, I overheard a conversation at the neighboring table. Lady in a wheelchair needs to lose weight before she can get a procedure done, but diets don’t work, she said. I hurriedly wrote down your name and how to find you. She and her hubby were leaving so I followed them out excused myself, told them what I overheard and handed them the written info. They were so thankful and amazed that I have lost 170 lbs. I told them to read your books and binge-watch you on RU-vid. i told them about autophagy also - the most exciting part in my opinion. It was a beautiful encounter and they were moved that they now have hope. God bless you, Dr Bozworth ❤❤❤

Here's how I look at the situation. When a person declares themself as your friend, there us an unspoken understanding that they will listen to any well meaning advice. It does not necessarily mean they must blindly accept it, but withholding information one believes is truly beneficial is in it's own right a betrayal. However if they express they do not want to consider the information, that is not a betrayal and equally should be honored. A stranger is a bit different, but not overly so. It's important to be respectful, and that's done by confirming they are open to different ideas in the first place. If you truly believe you can save someone's life with a word, I believe it's a social crime not to try. These perspectives change dramatically on topics like religion or politics, but in medicine I feel intent is far easier to discern.

This is a difficult predicament to be in, I had a friend who told me of her cancer diagnosis very late stage. She didn't want advice and said so. It was hard knowing keto or zero carb could have helped her. She passed in May, on my birthday actually, and I felt guilty that I could have helped her. Honestly, it's not ours to decide, people get to make their own choices. Love people while you can and allow for them to make their own decisions. However, if you think I'm sick I do want to know and I want your ideas.

I used to be a pharmacist many years ago, though I can’t claim that title here in the US because I don’t have a valid US license. But the knowledge is still there and I'm still a pharmacist. I can easily walk you through the physiological effects of drugs, pharmacologic actions, molecular mechanisms, and therapeutic uses in great detail. So, when I tried to explain to two of my cousins that their morbid obesity is putting them at serious risk for stroke, cancer, cardiovascular disease, and more, they responded with, "First, you’re not a doctor," and then accused me of body-shaming. That last part infuriated me beyond words, but I kept my cool, apologized, and calmly told them to consult their doctors about the swelling in their legs and the strange discoloration around their necks. It broke my heart to see such young women showing clear signs and symptoms of something we all know what it is, but I can't diagnose here. Later that night, I cried. It's just so sad. I hope they can put aside this ridiculous "body-shaming" defense and actually see a doctor. I truly hope they do. I figured if I mention the proper name of their neck discoloration "acanthosis nigricans" I'll be also accused of racist. I'll do my best to somehow use a different approach in the future to at least put a person in the right track if I see something that looks serious and has to be evaluated by a "Real Doctor" I wish people listen more and judge less.

I have been telling all my family for years that a low carb or ketogenic lifestyle is the way to heal from our family propensity toward obesity, diabetes and heart disease. It goes in one ear and out the other for most of them, but some listen. One family member and their spouse just recently decided to try Carnivore even though several people in the past, including me, encouraged them to remove the carbs and try doing keto or carnivore. Now that they took the plunge they're having dramatic, undeniable, and visible health benefits! In skin conditions, energy levels, sleep, gastric distress, and weight, dramatic changes in just a couple months. I'm so thankful they decided to try it!

I never fail to talk about my carnivore lifestyle and in the benefits I have achieved as a lead to general conversation. I almost always get questions which allows me to broaden the subject. If I was a doctor diagnosing a friend/relative of an observed condition outside of my practice, I would mention specific benefits re. other conditions like diabetes, cancers, obesity and add autoimmune diseases like Chrons and MS and... Great video and story! Been following your channel and a few others. Totally "understand" weight loss now. It is not "what" you eat so much as "when" you eat. Been doing OMAD (IF, 24 hours) for 47 days now and my weight is coming off! It is like a brain-rewire or "way of life" now. Watching TV commercials promoting "American" foods and pharmaceuticals almost makes me think it is some kind of conspiracy (money grab) to keep people fat and on meds. I fell for it. Just one meal a day, ACV, exercise, and living smartly. Keep up with your videos -- many of us need real insight and encouragement.

I gave beef and butter to my sisters and niece for years. One sister has an adamantium brain. The other sister adopted enough keto to help the swelling in her knee. My niece does enough ketovore that she went from joint pain mood swings inflammation and miscarriages to healthy kids without a hot water bottle. She tells me of other children staying sick eating puree. My niece feeds her babies beef and meat. They're healthy. It's lovely. I give sardines and butter for Valentine's at church. Some ground is good. Some is rocky. And some gives a little bit.

I regrettably kept my mouth shut. Every time I saw my PCP he kept quiet about my progress. I so wanted him to ask how I was making so much progress. But he never did. He passed away at 53 years old last March. I'm no medical professional but can no longer remain silent. I gently open the conversation, or send them a useful book. I at least try to be a lighthouse but not a foghorn.

Pray about it. Holy Spirit will guide you. I have indeed given unsolicited advice and I'm no Doctor lol, but I have lost 100lbs on keto/carnivore/ketovore. I have gained back 20 lbs but have been back on track at least for the most part and haven't gained anymore. Hired a personal trainer twice a week. Walk. At 59 years old I can walk 4 miles straight without having to rest to breathe ( I have Asthma as well as a couple other issues). I could never have done this before the weight loss. I so want others to be able to feel better. I'm not back to my twenties and never will be but I feel better at least some days where as before there were no days.

Uncharacteristically for me 😂 I just keep my mouth shut. But if some does ask about my weight loss I’m all too happy to share.

Keep giving them advice and it's their business what they do with info. You don't have to badger them, just tell them once. Also tell them you let them know because you care about their well-being. If you didn't care, you wouldn't say anything. Just my 2 cents. Thanks for all the info you put out there! You're helping many.

I tell people all the time stuff I shouldn’t. Like my doctor said don’t eat salt. I say you can’t live without salt just don’t use table salt. I tell my sister in law she should go keto to help with her kidney function she didn’t listen now she ids on dialysis but I told her it would still help. I told my sister in law she shouldn’t take chlesterol meds they don’t help just cut out all your sugar and foods that turn to sugar in your body she didn’t listen either. So now I just say if you want to heal your body do your own researched and find out how the body works.

I listen & wait for them to complain about a symptom, then say, "Oh, I used to have that ___ all the time, but it's completely healed now." (I've actually had just about every symptom on the planet at one time or another.) Then I wait again. About 25% of the time they'll ask, "So, what did you do?" Then I gently tell them about learning how to do the ketogenic diet right.

Dr. Boz, I am a lay person. No medical training whatsoever, but I believe that you SHOULD tell someone to get their skin lesion checked or gently guide someone with MS to the information, gently. They can choose to take or ignore the advice, but at least you guided someone and possibly saved their life. Most, I think, would be grateful. At least I would.

My wife and I have just got to were we have been carnivore strictly for a month. We still have a little brain fog and some dip in our energies during the day.Our usual day consists of 14-18 hours of fasting then having two meals. We usually eat 1/2 pound to a pound of bacon in the morning then at lunch we have about. a pound of beef, chicken, or pork. Then we go back to fasting. We keep measuring our ketone but they stay at 0.3-0.6 . Most of the time under 0.5. Since we have started this everybody in the world has come against us. Even family whom was just diagnosed with diabetes said if a person doesnt have good carbs and fruit it is unhealthy, that was what there doctor told them. We feel backed into a corner. But we are not going to be moved. On the other hand we struggle with getting our son fully on board. It's almost like people are so brainwashed that they would rather take a pill or a shot and still hurt their body. IDK. This Beats all I ever saw... By the way, how can a person get ketones up on carnivore?

Goodness this applies to all of life.... sometimes I wish I could put blinders on ... but one thing I have learned is to pray and ask permission. Pray for wisdom and then ask "I have some thoughts would you like to hear them?" and it may be that a later time is better to actually share them.... of course then you actually have to remember 😂 and that's where I trust God will draw it to my attention if it is supposed to be addressed by me. Tricky, Tricky sometimes

I did share yours and other keto/carnivore videos for over a year with my parents and my husband. I have recently stopped doing that because they still eat the SAD diet, making it almost impossible for me to stick to carnivore too, so we’re all still sick. My autoimmune issues are better even when I partially do the diet and at least I haven’t gained weight in a year or so but I still have thirty pounds I’d love to lose and have big time stalled. So, I’m really discouraged presently and losing hope. Planning on trying to adhere to it again soon. Two years ago I lost 18 lbs on it and put a lot of my issues into remission.

I just tried a keto diet for 3 weeks. Its hard. Its so hard to eat zero carbs. I lost weight. I felt better but i would dream of popcorn and doritos. Apple pie....the diet is incredibly difficult to adhear to. You have to stick strickly to get benefits. Know this as you go into this type of treatment. Lasagna is long gone. Forget about chips and salsa. You basically have to learn to hate food and treat it as medicine.

It is always a risk. The bell curve has on one side, the people who are happy you reached out and on the other side people who believe that unsolicited advice is self serving and are angry with you. In my case I let people stamp their forehead with whichever stamp they choose; jerk, friend, etc. I note how they respond and if they are not receptive I don’t give them helpful advice any more. If God gives them freedom to ignore his good advice then I need to do the same.

I've shown my obese friends how I freed myself of Type2 Diabetes and high blood pressure... I've told them they can turn their lives upside down... I haven't lost friendship, but now they laugh at me and tell me they would never ever be able to get rid of carbs... After all they have the daily pills (which I threw away after two weeks of strict keto diet) and they tell me the result is the same. I disagree strongly because I'm growing old definitely in a lighter way than them... yet I've stopped telling people they can be healthy and happy without any medication becayse the truth is that they don't want to listen

I do it all the time. My conscience just won’t let me keep life saving information to myself. No, I’m not a Dr but in my 72 years I’ve learned a lot about health and the lack of it and the symptoms of poor metabolic health. Frankly most people would love to be healthy but are way too addicted to all the feel goods of modern highly processed “foods”. Most hate hearing about the changes that must be made, they “have already tried everything and nothing works”. So they choose keep eating their big bowls of ice cream or cake or pies. One old diabetic friend said “I just love my food”. I told “you’ll be ready to change after your first toe removal”. He didn’t like it but…..

You are a healer. There is a certain responsibility to that calling. It’s not your responsibility of triggering someone. As Dave Asbury points out. (Even though I personally don’t like David, he has a point.) In most instances, it’s better to ask for forgiveness, than ask for permission. In a lot of cases us humans would rather be blind to illness, especially when it one’s self. However, I have found that couched in the right way a legitimate concern can be expressed. Yes it was a passive aggressive approach, but would the situation have been better if you would have approached it earlier? If the answer was yes, you learned. If the answer was no, well timed, you still learned. Imho, you didn’t good, her health was improved, win/win. What I’m saying is, you come from a position of knowledge, and you share this knowledge well. Just because a friend,or colleague is visibly suffering doesn’t mean you can’t say something. Just saying. Keep up the good work.

Instead she consumed the "Ensure" and accelerated her painful death. 😢

I have two different friends, one of whom has a mother with dementia and another, whose wife has dementia. I have attempted to acquaint them with Carnivore and ketogenic choices via your and other RU-vid presenters. Neither are ultimately interested in the information, although they are polite with me because they know that I am trying to help them help their loved one I think the resistance to this information is the result of narrative brainwashing as harsh as that sounds but that’s what we see everywhere in many different aspects of our lives and it’s nothing new. Sadly there’s a saying that roughly goes. Don’t confuse me with facts. My mind is made up.
