2:36 That seems to actually be the correct answer, at least mostly. When talking about Patxi's rifle, Goredolf says: Ah, yes. I noticed that as well. I have a similar magical gun myself, you see. When he fired his gun, a spell was activated, though it was a primitive one. I believe that weapon was made with the intention to be used by the Yaga. Most likely, it uses magical energy instead of additional gunpowder to increase its muzzle velocity, thereby increasing its rounds' penetrative power. And Billy the Kid optionally mentions this: Well, we got a fair number of descendants of former noble folk here. They got recipes for all manner of things, turns out. Handful of these Yaga got a talent for magecraft, so we can even grow vegetables in a greenhouse. I don't know what allows trees to survive in LB1 (maybe a grander magecraft ritual), but magecraft is stated to be used in weapons (at least rifles) and gardening.
Also, Yaga don't really need to maintain their houses since they're adapted to the cold (although obviously the real reason is to showcase the harsh and cruel environment better). So the only mystery would be "what do the demonic beasts eat except Yaga?" Also on a side note there's a matter with Dobrynya Nikitch. She's a winter-themed Russian catgirl and we have a story set around beastmen in the ice age Russia. So could it be that she's designed to appear there but for some reason TM and DW decided to pair her with Koyanskaya instead? We know for a fact that some Servants take YEARS between the initial conception and the in-game implementation so 3 years between Anastasia and Tunguska doesn't even look that long of a delay.
@@ViApp0 Can't they just each other? I don't think demonic beasts are constrained by usual rules of a food chain. So maybe larger packs of Krichat's and Razrushat's eat D'yavol Trons, while smaller ones fall prey to them. Though... I don't know how this works, but I guess a closed system of who-eats-who doesn't really work long term without some outside source of energy/nutrition. Maybe LB1's demonic beasts just evolved to sustain themselves (at least partially) on the mana in the air. The real mystery to me there is Shanshan. It's a baby Shantak, no two ways about it. Did people in LB1 have a brush with Lovecraftian at some point? Or was this just a remnant of an earlier version of LB1's story? There's a Great Old One called Ithaqua, about whom Lovecraft wiki says this: "Those who join his cult are granted immunity to extremely cold temperatures. He often uses Shantaks, a colossal avian "lesser race", as servitors." With bestowment of immunity to extreme cold and using Shantaks, Ithaqua sounds weirdly perfect for LB1, but that's not how it is. Was it planned at some point?
@@ViApp0 Regarding Dobrynya Nikitch... You know, if this design belonged to a LB1 counterpart of somebody else, I would like it far more. Like if she was... Ivan's granddaughter Feodosia Feodorovna, who received the early experimental version of the procedure that fused humans with demonic beasts, before they standardized it for the whole population. As for demonic beasts, can't they just each other? I don't think they are constrained by usual rules of a food chain. I'm sure there's something on Fuyuki, on a memorial quest or something, Salter has the skill "defender of humanity" which is weird skill/passive to give to Salter, either she is a grand servant somehow or there's something left there for us
Wasn't it said that Yu Mei Ren/Akuta Hinako sealed her powers when the og director recruited her to Chaldea? Cause that bomb that Koyanskaya hit her with in LB3 would have killed her had she not devoured her Servant to regain her powers?
Old man could be talking about Zelretch the jewel mage, since he can see within many timelines he most likely asks saber alter and Emiya to protect the holy Grail.
-LB1, when we ask Patxi about information regarding the Trees, he says that the trees appeared just weeks before the Shadow Border arrives in Russian Lostbelt -Sadly we didnt get any information regarding the trees during LB2&3, because the trees are pretty much concealed, and no one except the crypter knew. -But in LB4, Asha (the little girl) also said similar things regarding the trees. "the trees suddenly sprang up recently".. Which makes me speculating that the trees appearance pretty much lined up with the bleached earth phenomenon (2019). They happen consecutively, almost on the same time What im confuses about is, if the trees start sprung in 2019, the moment earth turning white,... Why during LB5 and LB6, the trees seemingly has been present since thousand years ago? The olympians acts like the tree has been their magical energy source for eons. And also Aesc manages to cut/absorb down the trees, Thousand years ago, before 2019, turning it into Lostworld. Is this inconsistency? How the trees appears way before 2019 in those 2 lostbelts? While the other lostbelts trees "probably" sprung in 2019?
2:38 A certain weapon-loving fox could have introduce weapon? That or anything similar to mankind are destined to make weapons. 2:59 She didn't give a damn about the lostbelts nor was even a diciple of the foreign god. She was just here doing her thing collecting creatures from lostbelt. If anything she was more busy collecting the energy to become a beast. Also if I remember right, she did show up multiple times that she could have ended chaldea pretty much whenever she wanted 4:41 Well, she couldn't use her full power back then. Its only when she drank her servant s blood that we actually saw how strong she could be 7:53 we can only wait and see
For Russia: Well, obviously whatever it is, we didn't see it. So there is a few possibilities without just going 'MAGIC!' 1. While the world was extensively ice bound, there may have been areas where plant life could still flourish. This still has an issue though, in that other life should still be pretty limited to surrounding areas to those areas. 2. Some manner of plant life evolved to tolerate this extreme environment. Now this could be more flexible in location, but does have a continued issue of simple energy. Such extreme cold and overcast would limit the photosynthesis results no matter how good the plant is. 3. Plants evolved to take advantage of other sources of energy. We have kinda already with deep sea vent bacteria which survive there, but trouble with this theory is there isn't much in the way of alternate sources of energy in Russia. Hawaii, maybe as it has active volcanos, but Russia is pretty dead when it comes to alternate sources. 4. We are simply dealing with the last remnants of life slowly consuming what little remains. This lost belt is relatively 'young' so this isn't that implausible that the inhabitants have just been subsisting off the remnants of what is there and are on a slow but sure course to complete extinction. Still, while young, it isn't THAT young. Even this has issues, but honestly seems the most likely to me, maybe with a bit of the others helping out. For Koyan: This one I just always got the feeling she was very conflicted in her approach to things, and as such wasn't going for maximum efficiency at getting rid of us, but rather just doing her own thing and occasionally coming into conflict with us. She also isn't the brightest bulb in the box so I could see her just not exploiting her advantages very well. For the Cryptor: I'm actually with you on this, that she probably could have recovered, circumstances just caused a situation that didn't allow her to and by the time she could, she was given a very unique opportunity that would put her into contact with her love again so she just went along with it. Fuyuki: Yep, I fully expect us to return here in some way to learn more about the whole trigger point of this mess. And for bonus points, WTF is up with L-alter? She pops in for London, doesn't really do much, pops in latter completely inexplicably, even called out as such, in Atlantis. What the devil is going on with her, particularly the Atlantis appearance is hella weird. The 1st... well, London kinda sucked writing wise, but Atlantis is very strange.
I would guess the old man Salter mentioned would be Merlin. He was all for stopping Goetia so it seems reasonable he would of messaged Salter to let her know what is going on.
About the mystery as to why Fuyuki is very important and the anchor of all the Singularities. The first director of the Chaldea was a participant in that Holy Grail War alongside his servant, Solomon and they emerged victorious. Thus creating Chaldea. That war took place in Fuyuki. The sources came from FGO wiki about Solomon and the Solomon singularity cutscenes. As for the old man, that I don't know. Maybe it's the first director, Lev or Solomon himself. We will see in the future.
Yea but why is it a singularity? What caused it? Is it the fact that Marisbury was there? Or is it something else? Idk man, i cant really understand that one🫠
@@mr.skeptic That too is still I don't understand nor know about it. All we know for now is that Fuyuki has a connection with Chaldea, Marisbury and Solomon. Even the story and the characters like Davinci and Holmes as far as I know don't really tackle the reason why it started there instead of, I dunno, where Solomon was the king (Israel). I hope Ordeal Call will answer some of these questions. All I know is that Nasu picked Fuyuki because it's Fate and to establish familiarity to their fans lmao.
@@mr.skeptic Honestly, I think it's generally because of Fuyuki. The Marisbury connection works via CHALDEAs and the current events in the Japanese server, but we're probably overstepping our bounds. Fuyuki is the home ground of Fate, the nexus, and (if a Neoplatonic example works) the Nous; or Keter if you're into Kabbalah. It connects everything: Strange Fake, Requiem, Lost Einherjar, Apocrypha, Stay Night, Grand Order, Extra, and so many more. We already know FGO connects to other worlds, in particular, its reception with FSF, Extra, and Requiem is interesting. I wager it owes to Fuyuki being the universal constant, the ultimate origin of all that is Fate. Inasmuch it manifested through its own force, a particular special form of Alaya. Furthermore, Ritsuka's past has been revealed in the OC2; he's from Japan and probably does share some connection with Fuyuki, which (and I might sound redundant) is specifically the origin of the HGW and Servants, the source from which it all began. But hey that's what I reached. I'm more of an FGO scaler and a religion guy over on Quora.
We HAVE to go back to Fuyuki. Back then we barely accomplished anything and lost more than we won. For one thing, this is where Olga became part of Chaldeas: going back there to conclude the E-Olga side quests would make sense IMO. Second, even though it’s obviously fanservice, FSN-related Pseudos all had important roles to play in the story; Kirei in particular seems designed (bio, ascension lines, final form…) to be a final boss type of character -maybe going back to Fuyuki would allow him that? My deepest hunch, is that we will go back to Fuyuki… on Chaldeas. A full circle.
In regards to the explosion against Yu-mei, I am an avid fanfiction reader and in one that has a parallel world traveler go to Chaldea; a separate bomb was prepared for her with essentially various exorcism like additions meant to target her vulnerability specifically. I know that a fanfiction written well after the initial scene plus the alternate plot line makes it irrelevant, but just the thought that maybe there were additional elements to the “bomb” meant to bypass any conceptual defenses that A-team had makes sense to me
Merlin is likely the one who informed Salter and instructed her to protect the grail. He interferes with Goetia's plans and aids Chaldea both directly and indirectly throughout the story. She even has the Defender of Humanity skill, which indicates she's fighting against the incineration of humanity.
Even if we assume that both Kiritsugu and Kirei participated in Malicebury's HGW, the fact that he won means both of them died and couldn't influence the Grail. Regardless, Saber doesn't call him an old man in Zero either.
Having thought of mash and goetia gonna pulled a vegito at final fight of fgo As fuyuki case, is either kiritsugu wish or what I called matou dying/Fuyuki being fucked index.
I think the reason why Koyan has done something that unreasonable or senseless is simply because of her nature/alignment. I can see in her perspective that since the very beginning- the moment Earth got bleached, they very much have achieved their objective. All that's left are the procedures. Chaldea is not a threat; completely irrelevant in her eyes. So I think her deal with the lipstick is nothing but her doing her side of a contract, an order she cannot refuse, or just her whim. It's pretty reasonable that it took her that long to deal with Chaldea because before LB3, Chaldea is nothing but a pack of unwanted cockroaches scurrying themselves into Lostbelts who just so happens to destroy it in their stay.
The Yaga are called that after "Baba Yaga" the man eating witch. Seeing as they are wolfmen they produce litters of pups like dogs instead of people, wolvess are known to eat their young when times are hard or the baby won't survive or is too weak. They hunt beast but the interactions with the younger one's in the lost belt points to this being a common thing about them often being x'ed out. As for Koyan, she's still an animal & wanted to be flashy as well as vengeful. She used Goldorf but couldn't stand him & just wanted to be done with him. As for Fukyuki, it's the focal point for all the anomalies because it was a tear in reality most likely created by Saber herself in F/SN/UBW destroying the greater grail which ruptured reality & so far all the singularities & Lost Belts are things leaking through that fissure both intentionally & unintentionally as alternative timelines collapse in on reality seeking roots for their existence.
About the Russian LB food source. In all these fantasy frozen wastelands I always assume there is a type of magic fungi or mushroom that grows in the snow l.
TO THIS DAY it wasn't explained why fujimaru suddenly blacks out on the corridor at the prologue of the game (that I am aware off). It just seems like a plot point that should've already been answered or hinted at because falling asleep outta nowhere is NOT normal.
Take this with a grain of salt since I've only heard this on Twitter In the JP 2023 Christmas event, Nemo Santa traveled to the past to Finnis Chaldea to give Fujimaru a gift Now APPARENTLY, he accidentally made the setting for the training fight harder than it's supposed to be, which is what caused Fujimaru to fall asleep
Well. About Russian lostbelt. We have only been there during March. And in Siberia, snow lies up to April, and environment there is colder than Siberian - at least in South. So it's just like Yakutian Taiga probably in terms of cold. Even simplier huh.
I have to agree with your Vitch theory, however. It would be pretty anticlimatic if the game just ended at the point in the story where you got a big black game over screen. DW wouldn't have made any more money that way back then.
