Gt7 just got announced in the ps5 reveal. It has gt4 seeming menus and career with gt sport in game ui. Also it showcased trial mountain

@@KhushbuMel shame it goes against the spirit of the GT1 rules (not having ANYTHING to do with road cars) and it and the 911 GT1, Nissan E390 and Toyota GT One killed the GT1 series and Le Mans hasn't been the same since.

@@bujfvjg7222 Oh yeah, will not disagree with you there. My laughing says, "wow, I can't believe Mercedes went that far, engineered the car that well and that quickly, and got away with it all!" I love the CLK GTRs for how insane they were. Nobody was prepared for them. Everybody craved crazy run-what-you-brought prototypes like Group C, but nobody was saying it, and I love that! To Mercedes' credit, they eventually built 25 roadcars, at least with the GTRs. Let's not talk about the evolutions of the car though. If we do, then everybody is guilty :D The 911 GT1 may have been closer to the spirit of the rules, but even that was a 911 very cleverly joined to a 962 Group C car. Regardless, an awesome car. Porsche knew what they were doing. And they arguably opened the door for Mercedes by showing where the series was about to go. Mercedes' failings at Le Mans with the CLK GTRs / CLR, was poetic (and scary) justice. Porsche did get the win at Le Mans with an evolution of the 911 GT1 in the end. And if I recall correctly, Mercedes hasn't been back to Le Mans in a top class since then. Le Mans is such a cursed race for Mercedes. Teams will always test how far they can bend the rules. Watching what everybody did / tried to do / failed to do in GT1 was exciting. This is a delicate balance in making racing rules. Though we want to see a crazy open technology showcase, there's always the worry these series will burn brightly and vanish quickly because one team will always spend everyone else into the ground chasing the win.

Naver knew this existed. I love the McLaren F1, I love the CLK GTR, never knew there was a prototype hybridization of the two before the latter existed. And with an amazing story to boot - probably my favourite Unsung Hero so far.

Is weird as well as nice to see an unsung heroe as important as this one being tested in the circuit of my city. First time I hear about this car, quite interesting mate. Absolutely loving the series!!!

Looks like one of those wierd concept cars that would be strangely op in racing games. But then again that is what this series is about and I love it for that. Maybe look into some group s rallycars as they are quite interesting. I’m not sure if you’ve already done some but others would be cool.

This basically looks like something between McLaren F1 GTR Longtail & McLaren CLK GTR. In fact it looks more like F1 GTR Longtail.

may i suggest the 1980 Mercedes SLC 500 Prototype which was a one man's idea that never raced due to Mercedes not wanting to go back to LeMans at the time (for other reasons)

@@Driff97 the first one was with sauber,then Mercedes was the mclaren engine supplier since 1996-2014 but they restored the partnership in 2021

I think the reason they went for a McLaren F1 as a test mule was also because they were supplying McLaren F1 with their engines 🗿

1:11 Fast forward to 1999 when the CLR was sent flying a couple times, and Mercedes stopped going to Le Man’s ever since… It’s a pity really…the CLR is an absolute GORGEOUS looking car tbh. Just sad it was plagued with problems.
