2018 was an absolute battle!! Most people have no Idea i'm coming back from double ACL surgery. Here's the UNTOLD story. www.DeanWilson15.com IG: @Deanwilson15 FB: @Deanwilson15 TW: @Deanwilson15 SC: @Deanwilson15mx Video: @chrismo54
its pretty sickening that these guys go out risking their bodies to promote companies but these same companies drop them as if they are disposable employee's.
MX Sx is a brutal sport man. You got to remember this is the career path these people to take. They all know how the game goes and don't get forced at gunpoint to sign deals for rides. Still brutal and I hear what you're saying but that's how the game goes.
Thanks for sharing the real deal! People don’t realize the struggles and total commitment it takes to contend at the professional level! You have a new fan!
The way you keep bouncing back is incredible Dean. So down to Earth and it’s great to see a genuine humble guy in the position you’re in. I’m so excited to see you out as a privateer again and look forward to seeing you back up where you belong! Love from London! 🇬🇧
Deano, you're a total savage, and a complete inspiration man. I actually had two left knee ACL tears back to back because of very very similar situations like yours. To see you attacking it like you'll never let it slow you down is amazing. I don't think people truly understand how intense it is to recover from, let alone all your other injuries. Bravo bud! Keep up the youtube content, love the authenticity around you bro👍👍
Really pulling for you this year deano! There's no question that you are one of if not the most talented riders out there. Your a breath of fresh air for the industry and I believe you can accomplish anything you put your mind to. Stay smart stay safe and good luck in 2019
Bloody hell, mate. That is freaking incredible that you had the inner and outer strength to continue on and ride as well as you did. Always been a big fan, but hearing this, well, I just can't wait to see you come out this year and tear that shit up. Gonna be epic. Wishing you all the luck in the world!
Love the honesty man. Completely understand why you kept this hush hush. If only everyone was so honest it would be unreal to hear some of the stories. Keep killing it this year mate
Nice to hear you explain it "the way it is" it's not moaning or whining, it reality. My son did his ACL, MCL and meniscus playing soccer, it's a lot of really hard work getting back. Good luck and stay healthy.
Best attitude Ever! Dean's one of the best rider and I don't want to see him not riding because I like his riding style. And also he's one of the riders able to change the numbers every time he race, anyway it's not cool to always see the same guys riding up front and winning. He's a colorful guy and that's definitely more entertaining when he's racing.
You are an inspiration. I thought 18 was a bad year 4 me( t bones by a hit and run, totaled my cycle), you made my year look like a year at Disneyland. I am a big fan, keep on rocking.
Thank you, Dean, for telling us the full story. This was certainly a first for any top rider as far as I can remember. I wish you the absolute best luck this upcoming season and hope to see you prove to the factory teams that they should have believed in you! Go get ‘em, Deano!!!!
Deano you are one gnarly dude! Good luck in 2019 really hope to see you work your way into a ride! You deserve it!....also thanks for the YouChoob videos keep em coming! Cheers mate
you are amazing. To ride in pain, I know that pain through mountain bike racing. But I wasn't the man that you are, I stopped racing and regret I didn't try and see if I still can race. 2019 getting in shape to try and race a season, Still don't have my ACL fixed but building my legs to stand through the season. You are my inspiration, after watching this. Even though I am 56 now, I may be a bit slower and not having to worry about payout like you do. My goal is a bit different, all I need to do is finish the the full sean and try to finish as close to the front as possible. Like you I wont Give up and I wont give a spot to another rider, He will have to work for it.
Dean after everything you just explained your still smiling and laughing mate your a legend kids should look up to you and take note all the best for this season good luck
Deno much love from Finland u have been my favorite rider for a long time and the shit u have been fighting against just rly blows. Im 100% sure that u will get a ride at somepoint next season and u will show every1 whats up! Good luck and go gettem!
I had no idea of all these injuries in 18. Hope all goes to plan in the following years to come. Show the teams that you deserve a factory ride. I'm sure a lot of young kids, mums and dads will look up to you for your honesty, generosity and have no doubt that bikes will be sold all because of you, not because of over-budgeted adds.
Deano, you’re very smart on how you are marketing yourself right now. A lot of guys would sit at ho,e & wait for that call, but you know what’s up. Social media is where it’s at! Keep them coming!
To have that all going on must have been so tough mentally on top of the physical pain. MX is a mental game too so to get the results you did was outstanding.
Dang bro, that's the best worst story i've every heard... i've had those injuries, and hearing you tell about them made my nuts hurt, but i'm glad you are feeling good, i hope you stay healthy and do great this season....
Unreal to see everything these guys go through, and this is just the year after he went out on his own full privateer status and all of the injuries and surgeries he had to come back from before that. Keep your head up Deano, pulling for you always and can't wait to see you make another incredible return
Deano u will be back n better then ever.teams are gonna be kickin themselves in the ass when they realize ur full potential when ur 100% healthy n focused.factory teams need more then jus 2 riders in the 450 class
Really appreciate the behind the scene look at how gnarly Motocross is. You will get a ride w/o a doubt! And we can’t wait to see you on the podium. You’ve always had the speed. Things will go your way.
Look at you now Dean Wilson! I think an outside sponsor will gladly put you on an epic salary and flip your factory racing expenses... I had an amatuer expert career similar to yours. In the 1986 Mini O's, I got a 3rd in 125A TT, 10th in SX, and 5th in Mx while racing 4 days with a compression burst fracture of my C1 sustained from a Mini O's Sx practice crash due to flagger not warning me of a pile-up on 3rd jump of a fast and out tripple. So a month after getting out of my neckbrace, I crushed my right arch requiring surgery and out for 6 months. I came back and pulled a 1-1 on a 1988 Cagiva 125 in the 125A at the 1988 Florida Winter Am' Gatorback Round, then walked away from the sport and went to college... as there wasn't many guys getting paid and plenty getting hurt back in 88. No one new how to train like you guys today. It was before big rig teams or corporate sponsors came to the sport. But you can't ask Ricky Carmichael who Glenn Somerville was? I was 1986 FL State Champion in 125A. I had made the podium growing up many years against a long list of bad asses! Dean, you live in a time where you can make a new stand not counting on the industry and to bring some companies to Supercross and Motocross to back you and your journy to be your best in SX & Mx! Because you have the capapbility and dedication and simple raw talent to be US 450 SX & 450 MX Champion! Maybe in 2019 from your first 2 rounds... But definitely on the horizon. Here is a poem I wrote. The Heart of a Racer There was a time long ago... people knew my name and said hello... The heights I'd reach flying through the air... racing my bike without a care... Some of my fellow racers made it to the top... and a few of them were almost forgot... The battles we had were oh so real... sending some to the ground pounded by steal... Yet the ones who made it above the rest... never forgot how they became the best... And those of us that were almost there... had to redirect our passion, had to redirect our prayers... It was a time where we all raced like we had it in the bag... even when we were 2nd to last at the checkered flag... And then sometimes I'd forget the biggest part... that I'll always be a racer deep in my heart... But when I recently saw one of my old racer friends... it helped me snap out of it and comprehend... For he had lost the ability to walk... yet he was still down for sharing a talk... It's tough to know he wasn't the only one... and I'm proud to see he's far from done... To witness the heights he's reached so far... helps others to see and reach for the stars... For I know my struggles are all but my own... cause we're all fellow racers never unknown... By Glenn Martyn / AKA Glenn Somerville #798
Yo, dean love your videos, keep it up d, your an inspiration to all! Go kick some ass this year, you will have a factory ride before you know. I don't think it was that cool how husky treated you but your day will come buddy, keep tearin it up.
I'm 63 both knees are shot motocross definitely dident help but I was never in deano's leuge, great lad great rider good luck for 2019 bud you deserve it🤙
What a year! Tough dude! So what are you doing now to prevent more knee blows? Are you lifting heavy on legs? Can’t do much on the knees besides conditioning... if it was me I’d go into body building mode and get some massive legs and shoulders. Yeah more muscle means more pump. But it’ll be worth the injury prevention
Deano, we all know you've had some nasty injuries threw the years, but I haVe to say you're one tough S.O.B! Wishing you a great 2019 supercross and outdoor season.
How you've been thru so much and keep a positive attitude is beyond me.. don't give up man we all know you still got it. Maan I was saying if I won that billion dollar lottery I would have started a team based around you and mookie haha one can only dream right? Keep putting that work in something will come up!
I was hoping KTM would of picked him up but now they have Webb it definitely shows that our sport needs more attention like these main stream sports get these athletes are so dedicated true warriors and the risk factor too I sure hope Dean lands a ride this year he has earned it.
They should of picked Wilson over that arrogant punk webb... when he took out roczen after coming back from that crazy wreck I became a full time Webb hater!!!!
