We call that plant water lettuce (even thou it looks like a cabbage). Pistia stratoides is the latin name. Sadly it's illegal in Florida. Dexter, you inspire me to start breding fish again, keep it up. Already just started my aquarium again, after 3 years of no fish! I want Guppys!!!

Enid- I live in FL too, I have a pretty good Guppy colony, very healthy, I use Guppy Grass or Moss for the babies to hide. If you want some quality guppies let me know.

I've watched other channels who say that you need at least 8 aquariums and a large amount of space to breed guppies. Here I see that it isn't true and your guppies look more beautiful than theirs in my opinion.

Yo yo, which channel thought you that.. do you know if u throw this guppies in a vase with the duck weeds and provides food.. check it back a month of two, u will have a lot of fry. Hahaha I did that before.

Thats not true brother,,,its also depends on how many types/kinds/strains of guppy do u have,,,and also if you are trying to outcross or to make your own strain thats the time you need several tanks! you just need to use plastic tank or tank that can make your guppy not getting dsturb during their breeding period!

Dexter I love everything about your documentation on guppy breeding and just fish breeding in general. In America all the RU-vid videos tey to make it all complicated and seeing the things you have achieved with just some outside tanks and fishnet really shows how growing them in a natural environment isn't that strange sounding. I think a lot of people forget these things grow up in the wild and just because you buy them from a tank in a store doesnt mean you cant bring them back to living like a naturally wild fish. I do have one question about this video if you do happen to read this comment, do you have dirt at the bottom of these containers?

I know it's super late and I'm not Dexter but, most set up like these don't have dirt or fertilized substrate. Typically breeders put lava rings or no substrate at all. The water lettuce will thrive due to the fish waste and sunlight.
