Thanks for the history Amanda, I'm sorry things didn't work out for your family, it must have been hard to watch this as you obviously have memories. Hopefully the house will be saved as its beautiful but you can see it's now quite neglected isn't it. Fingers crossed 🤞

It actually wasn't a refugee centre... It was a hotel mostly for wealthy English people. But it was also sort of a cultural place where British Polish artists, scientists etc. Would gather or send their kids for camps.

It baffles my mind, as to how these "Urban Explorers" have taken it upon themselves to determine what is, and isn't abandoned. I've seen videos of these "marauders" in houses they have deemed abandoned, 'Bcuz hey, they passed it three times, and three times they saw no one there. Yet insude, fully furnished, No dust, at times there are shoes, clothing. Linen on the bed. Look at this. It's abandoned. I really feel this is the umbrella they will attempt to use, if they ever get caught. There are more than one alarms going off. Plus, these people here actually show themselves breaking in. Usually they show the outside of a declared abandoned structure. Next view, they are miraculously inside. There is NO way all these homes are unlocked. The AlarmsvClearly State They are Tresspassing. Talk about a violation of one's privacy. The effing *GALL* and entitlement to just violate ANY ones personal space is beyond comprehension. There is going to come a time. Mark my words. And the defending person will be in the right. Let's not forget the young 20 yr old that was attempting to pull a prank unbeknownst. Pretended to rob a group of people , in the HIood no less. Well. He is now pushing up daises over trying to pull a senseless prank. Not to mention the devastation the defending young man must feel. The trauma of fearing for his life, ultimately defending his life by ending the pranksters ever so young life with a bullet. Some one will be in one I f these situations here.. It's also one thing to urban explore (break and enter), Then to have the nerve to go through these peoples belongings. I don't for one minute think they are leaving All articles of value behind as they all claim. Listen to this idiot. They still got clean laundry in there. What is going on?

it's been empty for at least 7 years but is being remotely monitored. Ground staff are likely still employed to do routine maintenance

Completely agree with you. I wont even finish watching this one and wont subscribe. They're not respecting the code of urban explorers and they're breaking the law.

@@laurie4275 You do not know if it is lived in or not so stop this saying it is.I would think they asked around a bit to see if it was lived in. i walked into a big old home about 5 years ago and the lights and water were still left on, but i asked the closet neighbor about it . and she told me that not one person had lived there in more then 20 years.Sometimes the electric company simply forgets place out of the city once it was ordered turned off and someone just plan forgot to go and do this.The tech you see in the house is not new at all most is more then 10 years old and that includes the flat screen TV i had one many years ago the same model.

It is clearly owned by someone, whether they have been there in recent years, or not. This particular property was an obvious break in, therefore illegal, any way you want to condone it.

Could be a foreclosure, the land would be the value to the banks not the building. Part of foreclosures also means leaving the valuable asset behind.

House is starting to fall apart

Roof is caving in in spots, there's mold and the outside is covered in vines.

It's a very strange situation this one, I mean, at one point they had the cctv and alarms working. But must have just got fed up with the upkeep of security. Stunning place though and I'm glad you enjoyed that explore Hayley! 😁👍

@@VacantHaven its a seriously odd one - why or how would you just feck off and leave a load of gear in the house that belongs to you and just not return for over a decade? it makes no sense, i think someone might have been squatting there but nobody is "living" there - no chance, alarm going off for weeks on end etc doesnt indicate anybody living there or even taking care of it - the amount of disrepair around a lot of the house and damp etc again does not indicate anybody looking after the house or living in it - parts of it appear to have been covered up sheets over seats etc which again is really strange, i think someone with dodgy money has bought it on the run an then had to move on again...

Exactly what I thought, if it wasn't for the massive open **** then I wouldn't have touched the place.
