Welcome to Explomo, in this episode we traveled to France to visit this impressive abandoned manor decaying in time. The real story behind it is still a mystery for us, how could some rooms remain so well-preserved and beautiful, while other rooms were one big dump of garbage and trash? We think we will never know the real answer...

100% a hoarder home, seems like they had specific places for the rubbish they didn't throw away!

Hi Maureno & Remon..! I just had a second (or third or..?) look to this video an like to tell you some of my opinions... To the ond fotographs: the hat you found there is a top hat or "zylinder" (german) - that one he had in his left hand at zhe wedding-pic - on the other pic he's wearing a so called bowler "melone" Next pic, the young woman with the horse is not the daughter - its a 1900's model or actrice - these pics were very popular, like role-models today... The time-capsule-rooms upstairs look very 1900's and untuched - seems to me, like some of the couples parents created the interior and they herited the house from them... All the garbage and the hoarding is a heavy problem, often caused by losing a beloved person, when predisposition was given allready before. These people often suffer on heavy depressions as well in combination with loss fear. Homeless people normally dont bring so much garbage - they stay over night to have a warm place and spend her days outside - trying to make some bucks somehow... We all hope, we never have such destinys, but who can now, what future will bring..?! Thanks for exploring, all the best César

I am in agreement. I think the man could not handle the loss of his wife and that one room with the piano was a homage to her. He could not bring himself to disturb that room but his depression is so bad that he let everything else in his life go to pieces, not even being able to do more that wrap the garbage up as it piles up it becomes harder and harder to deal with the mess. Slowly one room after another gets filled.

By the way: what the hack of fear you guys are about some cobwebs..?? 🤣😋😇 I think, steve ronin and allso the babe's of decay panic like .¤.*..! I have cleaned so many old dusty houses, cellars, attics - arachnophobia is a bad compagnion to do such... Stay safe, all the best Ps: the fantastic diningroom lamp as well as that one i the second messie-room is definite french, so called "pâte-de-verre"-glass, made by maison Schneider or Degué around 1910, worth somehow 1500.- € the big one...i love it..!!

It's great to see you take your time and look at the smaller things. That is definitely unique to you guys. I noticed the piano only had two foot pedals. I'm used to seeing pianos with three foot pedals. I researched it before and found out that 3 pedal pianos weren't introduced until 1844. Now I'm going to do some research on the beautiful blue and pink light covering. That is the first time I've ever seen that style. It actually looks very modern. 👍👍👍

@@Explomo I think the piano is probably worth around $500 by the others that I saw that were like it for sale. However, the beautiful Art Nouveau chandelier that caught my eye is worth between $3000 to $5,000. The best I can figure it is by a glasswork owner by the name of Muller Freres. You might run across one of these again and you will know the history. www.1stdibs.com/furniture/lighting/chandeliers-pendant-lights/french-art-nouveau-wrought-iron-art-glass-chandelier-muller-freres/id-f_9873973/

Amazing place! So beautiful! So many amazing vintage artifacts! That thing you didn't know what it was at about 23:30 in. I think it's an old 1930's tube radio. I think the knob to change the stations and to turn it on and off is gone though.

Hi Maureno and Remon, Once again an amazing video from your road trip in France. This one beautiful room is really worth the exploring of that house. I especially like how carefully you focus with the camera on the small details of the interior. I liked that beautiful black piano. Just a small correction: This is not a so called "grand" piano, just an ordinary piano, but nevertheless antique and stunningly beautiful. - I like everything with your way of creating your videos: Your intro titles the video itself and the clear and good comments, as well as the nice end titles. - Very well done! I am looking forward to your next videos. - Stay safe and peace to you. Kindest regards from Switzerland.

Such unique and beautiful items in this place. (Loved that ceiling lamp in the bedroom...very 1920s Art Deco.) Stunning...and the second floor living space was exquisite, especially the piano. Sad there's so much garbage. (Definitely a hoarder.) In regards to the piece on the dresser, its an old type of radio. Families used to sit around and listen to radio shows and news. Very common between 1910-1940s before television became popular.

Hey Maureno and Remon, based on the wall calendar 11:35 you said that this property had been abandoned since 2000 but in an earlier shot 03:55 there is a wall calendar from 2016. BTW the art-erotico-pop magazine 'Plexus' 22:03 is issue #1 from 31st March, 1966 and is exceptionally rare. I cannot imagine what a collector would pay to own a first issue in such an excellent condition.

Posting from South Carolina: From what you told us about Jean-Pierre, he may have become a hoarder after the loss of his wife. It’s possible his daughter was not aware of this. Many hoarders suffer with depression or some other mental illness. The loss of his wife most likely triggered that. Because of this, he couldn’t bear to lose anything else, so stopped taking his trash away. It was comforting somehow to have anything around him, even garbage. Also, the piano is grand in its beauty, but it’s actually called an upright, because of its shape. A Grand piano is shaped more like a harp on legs. This was a really nice exploration! Carry a stick with you to knock down spider webs!! 😉

The unusual object on top of the desk is actually an old fashioned radio. It was one of the first ones made. The were manufactured before TV, so families who had a radio would gather around each evening, usually after dinner, and listen to news or radio shows like “Fibber McGee and Molly” or “Lum and Abner,” or even soap operas (here in America). In England, families would have listened to speeches from members of the royal family, such as Prince Edward’s abdictation speech. (Please forgive me, I don’t know the numeral after Prince Edward’s name). Ask your grandparents what kind of radio shows their parents might have listened to before television was invented! That would be a great bit of family history!!

I suspect many of these homes were lived in by homeless people after the homeowners departed, and trashed the houses, literally piling up garbage. Homeless people seem to rarely use shelves or cabinets, so it's understandably they would be preserved. It's also possible to homeowners "gave up" after the death of a wife, and turned into a hoarder?
@Explomo

Throwing it away..meant discarding themselves.. A control factor when something tragic took over their lives.. Crazy.. 4:43...banana peels? Can't get over all the newspaper bundled trash. I loved all the furniture..the fringed bottoms. You may find some eventually that is made full of horse hair. And the twin beds. That was a proper thing back at that time. Some people on had 'maritals' if they wanted children. LOL... 18:54..'Hell no"...and all along all we heard was 'watch out for the spiders bro'..lol... I am always intrigued by the wall paper..so bold and colorful for its time. And wow... a 3rd floor man cave! Jean Pierre..was a rascal! That pram was beautiful..truly the Cadillac of prams. And the box on top of the desk was an old radio. So third floor room to indulge himself away from his woman.

This in my opinion was a horders home. All the bags of trash in all the rooms. What other explanation? Again just my opinion. I loved that beautiful room that the piano was in. Oh my gosh how did the piano survive what the rest of the house did not? I hope and pray that they can restore this home to it's former glory, but it will certainly take a miracle I think. Def. lots of different homeless people have lived there and trash it over the past 20yrs. They mostly lived on lower level of house and trash it. Sometimes, I think people just brought trash there cause they know the house will leave to rot so they don't care. This house is beautiful you can tell, these two, French people, are so stylish.

It's such a mystery why all the trash is either dumped, bagged or stacked in various locations. Perhaps after their deaths family came in to clean up and were so overwhelmed by the sheer magnitude of "stuff" they abandoned the project and the house. Whatever happened it's a shame, somewhere underneath all that was a nice home. Thanks for sharing with us. It’s important that when the children leave home it’s best to downside to somewhere manageable. Quality of life is diminished when one dies and the other is left behind. This can lead to isolation and depression which in turn can lead to hoarding! There’s probably urine in bottles and 💩in buckets. Trust me that was probably 💩 and urine in buckets/bottles. Probably no way could that person easily access the bathroom. I’m amazed that the toilet is directly off the kitchen. That’s not allowed here!

I've seen these episodes in Home&Health about people that accumulate lot of stuffs when they are depressed.....that home reminds me the houses of this kind of persons. And I assume that the cleanest place was kept intact because of his dead wife. What do you think? Sorry about my basic english I did my best. 😅😘

cabinets are all in good shapes, but so disgusting as it is probably full of cobweb and at one hand a dumpsite so to speak. but be careful and watch your steps you might get hurt with those sore items...

What a great place, it looks like maybe the child became a hoarder maybe after the parents died and he/she wanted to keep their rooms as they were ?or the man could of just stayed downstairs when he became sick ,so sad but lovely at the same time 👍 Thanks ex 💕from UK

We believe those garbage are not the owner's... Looks like someone brought them there.... Horrible!!! Oh my God! Guys, you should cover your heads, not only masking up and with gloves. You could catch something, health hazard.
