The box with the crank was for receipts in triplicate. It cranks a new one in place after you fill out one and separate them for the buyer, the company, and for records.
Maybe make a pre-dive check list for before you leave the house? I had to do that and put it on my front door so I'd stop forgetting stuff! I got certified many years ago over in Maui. What a great place to dive.
That machine is a postage metering machine for outgoing mail. My job uses Pitney Bowes for sending out our large volumes of mail. The postage machines will apply the “stamp” directly on the envelopes so USPS can deliver, and then Pitney will provide one invoice for the total cost of all our “stamps” used in a month

7:49. I have not seen one of the in a very long time, More than a minute! It looks like a machine a company I used to buy from would post the invoices... After writing the invoice, the clerk would pull the handle on the side and the 3 part form would spew out the back, and they would hand me my copy to pay the bill!
The thing with the crank on the side is for writing up work orders , you write up the work order then you rip off the top copy put it with the thing to be repaired the yellow copy goes to the owner and the pink copy gets advanced in the machine when you crank the handle .... it goes back to the 60 or 70's . Our mechanic uses one
Yes, it is Uarco. My wife worked at the Uarco in Watseka, IL in the early 1990's and they produced multi-page business forms that could be used with these machines.

The box you found with the key in it that looks like the old dumb billing machines that my grandfather had at his gas station you would write out the bill and have them sign it and then turn the handle one copy would go into the into the bottom of the box and a copy would come out for the customer now I’m guessing because that’s what it looks like.
Exactly! We had one of those at my parents business to write receipts at one time I think in the 70’s. Write the receipt and use the handle to crank it out. The other is definitely a Pitney Bowes stamp machine. It printed out those stamps that were on the white labels. Tear off the back and stick it on the letter or small package. A set of scales went with it but were separate.
Please be careful when encountering any pressure vessel underwater, especially a rusty one. It could still be charged up and just waiting for you to give it a bang on a weak rusty spot.
Duplicate receipt machine. Top copy goes to customer and duplicated copy is stored inside of box for end of day tally. I guess that dates me having seen them used.

Great video once again, had to edit, Pitney Bows might be how we did paid stamps, you punched in the cost after you weighed envelope and then printed it on that envelope for prepaid postage
