I had aimed for this to more gruesome than it turned out to be as I had intended this to be the end of one of his battles. Howbeit, I would not have finished it in time for Christmas thus my reason for scrapping that move. I am still more than pleased with the way it turned out. This was one of my most difficult projects to accomplish artistically as of recent and that all boils down to the insane detail Gabriel's armor bears. I can confidently say this will likely be the only time I will ever draw him due to that but, given the sheer enthusiasm that radiated from my brother when he received his gift; it was worth it this time. If I had to go back to do it all over again, I absolutely would if it meant that I would still hear that I made him smile.
