Accors guidence is to pull on the valve and turn counter clockwise,they come right off,i leave the stainless ring on there to prevent the pipe from being pushed into the wall
Keep up the good work Mikey Pipes and Tom. Might I suggest the Kline 8" High Leverage Diagonal Cutters to snip those rings once the valve body is cut. Make the trades great again and keep it real as always.
You can spin those valves counter clockwise and they come right off. I was skeptical until I tried it myself one day. I probably cut 100 of them off and bitched before someone told me that.

I use an oscillating saw to put a few slices in the angle stop and break pieces off the valve with Knipex and snap chunks off the valve if the pex is real close to the wall. Locking vise grips are great for holding the pipe out of the wall.
On that second valve you worked on where there wasn’t much pipe sticking out of the wall, you could’ve took off the escutcheon and crimped your new valve on. Then took a tiny hacksaw and cut a slit in the escutcheon to make your own split ring. Just an idea for next time if you run into that problem. I’ve split many plastic escutcheons to get them to go around existing pipe. Also those copper crimp rings are bad about not being perfectly round sometimes.
Check out the Fix it Guy for best practice removing Accor stops. He cuts them off and uses electrician diagonal cutters to remove the rings. Spinning them off damages the tubing by scoring it

I was working on gambling river boats when those valves didn't know anything about them till i got laid off went back into apartment maintenance and when started working on those valves I said those same words
We have these Accor valves in our house in Texas, and they are crap! We had to call a plumber to replace the ones to the toilets with metal ones. Also these valves are in the cabinet under the sink for the faucet. I wish these Accor valves wouldn't exist to be honest, they are crap to begin with!
