@@PrestonsThoughts Don't worry I'm not even sure it's the official word myself. 😅 I meant, some alice (and ergo boards) would be taller in the middle, so your hands and wrists would rest on the board "more naturally" (Look for Alice Type K or Feker Alice) On the other hand (no pun intended), this one is flat as a pancake.
I am super excited for this board. I would build mine without any case foam, just the mylar sheet(no clue how its spelt😅), maybe tape mod, plate foam ofc. Don't really mind the sound of most keebs as long as it's not too bad tbh.
I know many don't like the square case for Alice but I dig it, the slab of metal with keys looks cool to me. Also, you can use any wrist rest with it, and you will want to use one anyway since the front edge is pretty high. I just wish it was tented like the Feker Alice (they ruined that board with trash software), I don't know why they make flat Alice boards, it defeats the purpose of that layout. A knob would be nice too.
Great review as always! I was really excited for this board to release, but the shape is a no-go, unfortunately. I have several Arisu keyboards but this is the first one I've seen that's just a flat rectangle. I'm guessing they did it to keep the manufacturing costs and thus price down, but it's a misstep in my opinion. It might get some people into trying Arisu for the first time and that isn't a bad thing, but the design doesn't fit the ergo qualities of this layout.
Thats what I've been hearing from other comments, as this is my first arisu keyboard or ergo keyboard in general I didn't know that they were lifted or that people really looked for that, but now I do going forward! Probably should have done more research on ergo keyboards in general my bad lol
@@zatozatoichi7920 if you type with your hands not touching the desk and no wrist rest, you are unable to have a portion of your hand below the top of the case. If you use a wrist rest, you make a good point that may benefit some people.
Maybe, but akko ACR pro is acrylic which is pretty hit or miss for me in terms of sound profile. You could easily remove foam from this board to make it less stiff
Cool to see other peoples takes on this keyboard! I've never really tried an arisu board so I enjoyed it, but I definitely see where you are coming from it's pretty barebones
@PrestonsThoughts The overall aesthetic and shape just feel lazy. I would've expected at least a tented angle to accentuate the "ergo" aspect, or at least a more compact form factor. A tented board looks like a literal tent if you look from the rear. It's used to help with wrist angle.
I agree with you! Its supposed to be used for comfort with your wrists, not for having different and "ergo" design only with the key types while still having a big rectangle border with it.
