Excellent work on this preserved ALX400.One of my favourite buses to ride on since my childhood which might explain my profile picture.I’m hoping one day, a B7TL version of the ALX400 get’s preserved in the future.

I managed to photograph TA1 when it was doing its regular service back when I was in London. Even then the seats were original and the original Stagecoach logo was there. Pretty sure that one was preserved as well.
@@glitchFan2428 Then it was totally worth it. Preserved first gen Citaros are really hard to find for some reason (Perth did kept one hydrogen unit but it wasn't out for display - and still had the original Lawo LED EDS)
I love nothing more than seeing a good condition Trident sometimes! Newport Bus really need to fix theirs, the President and Myllenniums are quite decent but the ALX400s are abused. So nice to see the effort put into this though, looking forward to seeing this at events!
The Newport ALX400s work school routes and are 2nd hand 22 year old buses, with them being unlikely to last much longer. They spent all their money on window repairs anyway
These things needed some finesse to drive. At least those in my depot at the time. The brakes were so sensitive, you had to learn to ball your foot to get the minute movement needed in the brake pedal to not cause the brakes to just lock all the way on and smoosh everyone's faces into the seat in front of them. Great to see one getting some love.
Watching that Enviro reverse with the digital destination blinds also showing reverse, so warning people around the bus. That's a great idea, not seen that before. The buses I drive still have the conventional roller blinds.
Fantastic video of the Alexander AX400 Dennis Trident I drove these out of Princess Road depot I note it is fitted with the wrong steering wheel for that age of Trident
@@glitchFan2428 the new Trident buses we took in 2002 had that steering wheel fitted and they arrived in the new livery which I hated, the original livery was the best like on your Trident I have a driver's handbook for that model of Trident which was given to my by one of the driving instructors at PS depot

@@glitchFan2428 I've seen a few on the t plate and a handful on a y plate nice to se an older buss in service I don't think it will be long till they are scrapped or sold tho as they are on about going all electric with the busses here
Not just any old Trident,but the first single doored Trident for anyone. By the way,the paintshop at Hyde Road is highly regarded for the quality of the repaints.
This is reminds me a of an old livery of a bus company called Scott Urb. you got to see it :) Edit: Scott Urb (a portuguese bus company) was bought by stagecoach, that's why the livery was the same. haha
Does anyone know where the name “TRIDENT” came from, only it refers to 3 or TRIPLE, as in the BAC TRIDENT airliner which had “3” engines. The TRIUMPH TRIDENT motorcycle which had “3” cylinders. What does the the Dennis bus have “3” of …………?
did this have the original stripes roof or did it have a beachball roof? I know a lot of the new livery buses in my area are still rocking the beachball roof
