I have a similar experience to the point that I've given up saying anything to others as I can see it just doesn't compute in their brains. Kind of hard to compute in my brain too even after one year of owning a Model 3 Performance. I'm also with Octopus, charge at 7.5p/kWh which is the equivalent of 2p/mile. A non-Tesla makes absolutely no sense to me for a long list of reasons. So refreshing, it's what happens when a company is mission driven.

I've seen tons of videos on that subject on YT and Reddit. Expand your range a bit before you mislead a bunch of folk of what you failed to find.

45 cents is kwh. Tesla model 3 has a battery of 57,5 kwh, which gives it 430km of range. That is 25 euros. My vw passat has 60 liters of fuel capacity. I just did 846km and it still has about 80km range, so we will say it is 850km per 60 liters. one liter is 1,4 euro. So one tank is 84 euros. Tesla runs for 0,05 euros per km. Passat runs for 0,07 euros per km. THAT IS DIFFERENCE OF 2 CENTS PER KM! Tesla model 3 cost 40k. My passat cost me 14k. After 200k my passat will still go 0,07cents per km, tesla will be on landfill.

How many km are you throwing away because you are traveling to a fueling station? You forget that these electric vehicles can charge at home. Over time you save on km spend driving to fueling stations. With solar panels it is almost free to charge at home. Your vw passat and other combustion vehicles require periodic maintenance and has the risk of 1 of the 100's moving component failing. About your 200k claim. I wouldn't be so sure about that. There are Tesla's from the first generation model S that go 400k - 500k km's before the battery needs replacing. After replacing you have a brand new battery that can last another 400k+. There are even specialists that can refurbish battery cells for less money than replacing a combustion engine.

25 EUR/ 430km= 0,06 EUR pr km for Tesla 84 EUR/ 850km =0,1 EUR pr km for Passat Meaning at 200k km you would have spent 80k EUR more on gas driving your Passat 😎

@@jonaslarsen3231 I always say that you fanbois went to garbage schools and that is the reason why you are such sheep and easily persuaded into garbage products. So let me educate you: km*cost per km=total price; 200 000 km* 0,1 euro= 20 000 euros. I do not know where you got 80 000euros, that is enough money to buy me gas for 800 000 kilometers. TOTAL FAIL. BUT! Lets bury you completely: Your tesla cost 42 000 euros, after 200k km OR 15 years it will require new battery. That is 28 000 euros at the moment for new battery and work to put it in. That is 70 000 euros at the moment. Now lets add price for fuel: 200 000*0,06=12 000 euros. 70 000+ 12 000=82 000 euros. we will not go further into cost of owning tesla and passat, because I do not want you to fail even more. Anyway, my passat cost me 14 000euros( used car, 39 000 euros when it was new) plus 20 000euros for fuel is 34 000 euros. Tesla( with spare battery) after 200 000km=82 000 euros Tesla ( no replacement) after 200 000km=54 000 euros --*-- Passat( used price) after 200 000km= 34 000 euros Passat( brand new) after 200 000km=59 000 euros. SO if we take brand new passat and brand new tesla without spare battery- the difference is 5000 euros. So, you are paying 5k less for range anxiety, less capacity, less comfort, less stability, less quality, worst finish, and better acceleration and worse top speed... Yeah, truth and facts bury you fanboiiiiis every time. Not to mention that tesla is out of time. How Musk said just last night( LITERALLY last night)- "tesla is on egg shells and we are letting 7000 american workers and 10% of global workers go"! Truly company that screams "quality". Done and dusted.

@@daxter432 I live literally 100 meters away from gas station, but not everyone live so close. That still changes nothing, 200k is 200k. I do not know why you are searching for straws...I do actually and it is because you need to spend time for waiting for it to charge up, meaning medium long trips are now long trips, long trips are extra tiresome now. we are talking about model 3 standard, not long range, not perfomance and not model s. If we are going to talk about that then you are screwed even more. I can (and I did) do 1700km on 60liters of fuel in my passat- BUT!! I drove on a highway and my speed was constant 95km/h and my trip was from Zagreb to Stuttgart and back to Zagreb, with few extra stops. That is not how I drive usually so that is not how I calculate my expenses. That would be lying, just like saying Model S is capable of 400k-500k km range before battery replacing. No, they do not unless you are driving like I did on that trip and you live in place where there is no extra cold and extra high temperatures, medium humidity and no hills, no towing anything and never full trunk of stuff. But that is not how people drive. Can it be done? YES, you can leave your battery in for one million km, you will spend whole day charging it to be able to go 80km but hey- you do you. After 85 000km we spend 1750 euros on out of warrant services and regular services. Engine for my car, with installation, cost 2289,83 euros, just checked on vw zagreb site. 3year warranty or 100 000km. Battery pack, refurbished, in USA, cost $7500, 1 year warranty plus $$ for installing. After 200 000km my car do not require new engine, just to be clear- your tesla do need new battery if you want normal experience and range.

@@Blento0404otnelB you are sure as hell mad with this wall of text response. You are only accusing me of lying without giving proper reasons why you think I am. Whatever. Reread my comment. Talking to you is like talking to a wall.
