Happened last year cows were dried off Xmas week Incalf heifers came home noticed one off form, Christmas Day came she sprung down and calved still calf. Lucky she was a quite heifer gave us milk for the house until we started calving. Always an up side to everything
Good man Ronald. Thank you. Farming is all ups and downs surely. But that only makes it more enjoyable. Nobody is starving and there is always a few pound there to reinvest and sure what more could anyone ask for. Wouldn’t change anything for the world. Thank you for your support.
At least your one is worth milking, we had one slip on Stephen’s day but she never came to her milk so she has been put back in the shed for a while and she has only one way to go. You look to be doing through the pit fairly fast , we are too , suppose that’s what a wet backend does for you.
Well to be fair to her she half filled the dump bucket this morning but she’s not antibiotic clear till 1st of February. Yes going through silage rightly but I still have 80 bales of silage and 20 bales of hay left and I am been optimistic that I’ll have the calved cows out on rocky paddocks by mid February. Time will tell
