We farm, and clear our share of land in the Blue Ridge Mountains. I really enjoy watching the chainsaw videos. Anyone that makes a living with a saw, had better be a good small engine mechanic. I bet you set the record for the fastest 110% recovery. You're a sharp guy, keep rolling.
I work for a tree company and i am trying to go out on my own. You have taught me so much more than anyone on my job bud. I love your videos. Youre one of the best i have ever seen!
New subscriber Human. Hope you're healing fast. You're a rare breed, and that's a good thing! Love your honesty, and standing for what is right. Best wishes to you and your family.
I just stumbled onto your channel. Watched one video, subscribed, then saw your injury videos. Scary shit! I hope the pain is manageable, and wish you a speedy recovery!
New subscriber here. I am Praying that you have a quick recovery. My sons father in law, cuts down trees. My son needed two really large trees removed after Hurricane Sandy. There is definitely an art to cutting down trees. I never realized how complicated it is to cut down a tree that is close to a house,or pretty much any tree, and not damaging the house. I never realized how much a large tree weighs. Like unbelievable weight. I helped with moving the trimmings( topping the tree) and they were extremely heavy. My sons father in law is 60 and still climbs. The way he ties the ropes and the different knots he used was really interesting. I think a lot of people take for granted, how dangerous it is cutting down pretty much any tree. As far as Dan the Tree man goes, from another one of your videos. What a piece of crap. I don't get or understand how anyone can rob someone of there hard earned money. People like Dan, can't have a conscious, to rob people. What goes on in their brain, that allows them to rob people is just plain immoral, unethical and these kind of people have no pride or honor. Anyway I have a new channel to watch. I will always watch any ads all the way through that happen before your videos, to help with you earning some money. Again I am praying for your to have a quick recovery and no complications. When you get back to work, keep staying safe. Accidents can happen to the best of us.
Just sub'd. I logged growing up in Alabama and just wanted to say it's been a long time since I've seen, or heard, of anyone taking responsibility for their on actions; and admitting it. That's what's known as, "Being a fucking Man". Live free and stay safe, my friend. Wish I was young enough to work for you.
Hope your recovery is going well Take care and keep your mind on when your fit again Your honest and great videos will help many of us All the Best mate
Just discovered you're videos man. They are insightful and very entertaining to watch. Hope your hip is doing better man. It's a dirty job but someone has to do it!
I'm not even kidding I found your channel ab 2 weeks ago and was watching through all of your vids and was even thinking I wonder how often ppl fall or if it really is a big risk now a days and I guess you answered my questions the next vid you posted was the fall... Get better fast man and keep climbing.
I hope that your recovery is progressing well. It is nice to see that your heart is still there for the work, nothing else compares with being an arborist. When you are good at it... well then, it just becomes fun! I have enjoyed seeing your work in the videos that I have watched. I wanted you to know that I was sincere when I said that you could contact me if you wanted to talk to someone who had also endured a similar back/pelvis injury. Try not to let yourself get too stir crazy, the world is going to be there after you get healed up some! Munro
Brennen Munro, not true, I can't stand the average arborist. They know on the books what should be done but not a clue how to get it done. That's the majority of them not all. I'll take a man that learned by doing over book taught.
What about my comment is "not true" Adam? You do get that the job title of what "Human" is doing in this video would be listed as "ARBORIST"... right! In any field of occupation that someone pursues, they are only going to be as competent as their level of dedication to that occupation. Human has become the incredible Arborist/Climber/Treeman that he is because of experience and a dedication to his craft. But also knowing the genus and characteristics of the trees you are working in will not only provide you with valuable information to not damage near by structures, but it will also help keep you safe, accidents can still happen. That is why they are called accidents! You say that you would rather have someone who "learned by doing over book taught"... Myself, I would prefer someone who is competent and continues to educate themselves. I do not know what you consider average, but I do know that it is ever more difficult to find those who take pride in what they do. Munro
Mr Munro At the end of your first post you say "Try not to let yourself get stir crazy , the world is going to be there after you get healed up some!". Please don't tell HUMAN he's going to make it ! He isn't ! TRUMP is going to kill us all, were all going to die ................LOL
Nooooooo... I have plans for next year, and the years after that too! You may be correct in the world facing a real crisis. Hmmm, don't tell Corey/Human about that though, we want him to focus on healing and getting back to doing what makes him a happy camper! But dude... I really did have plans! LOL! Munro
I had a falling accident some years now, broke many bones. Wish someone would have told me when it happened... broth made from grass fed beef bones. Really helped me. Super sorry for you. Wishing you a speedy recovery!
Just recently found your videos. Watched a few of them before I realized you were around St. Louis. I live about 20 miles north of Springfield around the Bolivar/Pleasant Hope area near Stockton Lake. Awesome Vids man
get well soon and all that. in the come back after your fall you would have earned your stripes. 17 years ago i had my near death mistake and since then my rule is "you can never be too careful" with your self or the ground crew. at 5:30 such a tight drop zone and soo close to the equipment... to avoid the bouncing and flying of the logs, i''ve taken to tying off even short/small blocks to prevent damage/injury below. we only get one of these second chances. keep on the positive and be safe.
Hey Human, just checking in to see how you are doing. Hope all is well and you are healing up. Keep your chin up, it's a slow process but you will be back at it in no time. A little bit wiser and ready to teach the youngens. Don't hesitate to shout out if you need anything.
found your channel from the fuck this guy thumb explored a little and man... your a beast! lol Sorry to see your fall though I'm however glad to see you are recovering well.. I've definitely thumbed up and subbed!! keep up the great work and progress! wishing you the best with a speedy recovery looking forward to new content!
Thanks man, appreciate it. You've no idea how much I want to be out there climbing again, killing me stuck in a chair for a couple more months. As many have said though, pretty lucky it wasn't worse, so I've nothing really to bitch about.
hope your recovery goes fast and well. Does your crew ever run a bobcat? seems like when your in a bucket your cutting rather small "firewood" pieces compared to what I've seen wasn't sure if its just easier on the groundsman of this how you guys always cut them
Your cuts are awesome! Shit happens to all of us. Now you have another tool dew to your mishap. That's what it took for me, and several others that are where you are. Hope you keep on treebro.....we are a very few. I did have a great day...enjoying my beer sir. Sorry if I have to be....lol.
Hey there man .... hows the healing going? Saw a video on here by Buckin Billy Ray ... He talked a bit about recovering from such a injury ...Get well soon dude
Hope recovery is going well. I see in a lot of your videos you use a throw ball. Are you bucking most of these backyard jobs? I know you don't have a ton of experience and it saves time from free climbing and it's easier. But there's no better way to see what your getting involved in than by gagging your way up its the best way to find dead wood and obstacles on your way
I can't believe how many overgrown bushes and just plain firewood people let grow right by their houses in your area. Much less how nasty and rotten they let trees get before finally taking them down. I would also be getting a wood burning stove or two, free house heat!
Been watching your videos for awhile and forgot to subscribe till the other day when I saw the fuck you dan video. Subscribed and watched a bunch of videos. Saw ur fall man hope you recover fast it's probably a good thing your in such good shape. Hope that speeds up your recovery. Hope all is well so you can get cutting and climbing again!! Randy
love your channel. same i have been on bedrest for 3 weeks since hip/spine damage. some free advice brutha? get out in chair or whatever outside, this kinda injury messes with your head. i am on like 3rd serious injury and im 50. the first was slightly younger than you. i tried to be a hard ass and man it backfired. find a thing that makes you smile and do it each day like a religion even if its dumb to others.
Like playing those guitars that are on his wall. You can kill a lot of time, doing that, and it helps keep you occupied and not getting down in a funk.
Doctor is thinking 6 months, which is about as good as I could ask for. Got very lucky, most injuries of this sort take longer to heal, quite a few other climbers have told me there stories in which they're out for a year or more. How's your season going? You've done some pretty amazing stuff in the past, any cool videos in the works?
Question.... I cut down a large sweet gum tree in my front yard and ground the stump, now I constantly have sprouts from I'm guessing the trees roots popping up all over my yard now that it's cut down. Any way to stop this? I cut it down about a year ago
i hate seeing the Humboldt used for control falls ..consider it this way once its free theres still weight in balance from top a complete hold from start to finish is superior
Why do you make cuts with your rigging line on the top side where you make your back cut (such as at 4:53)? Your line should be in line with your face cut.
Hmm.....not something I've seriously considered. I'd do love firefighting, was a qualified inport fire marshal in the navy, not sure how much I'd like firefighting without having a hose though......I'll have to put some more thought into that, might be a great idea though, thank you
Human you don't need a hose when you have a chainsaw 😉 you have the skill and personality to be an awesome wildland firefighter. Plus you get to travel and you can continue to make RU-vid videos.
all in all, clean work. if you'll allow an old man, your face cuts are a bit deep, and the back cuts abit too close to your corners, but hey, I'm just going by the vid. your behind is rocking that saddle, and that's all that counts. heal up brother, don't come back too soon like a lot of guys will. you'll pay for it down the road. the doc's are a lot better these days, take advantage of the fact! best!
