Yeah.. I agree, As Iranon tribes in mindanao my culture is similar to Maranao, a Moro tribes who Fought also the war with the Muslim tribes fought the harder battle against the Spanish, Kudos to Our brother Igorots tribes ❤️ from Mindanao.

Too much colonial mentality & self hate is practiced in the post colonial Pilipino culture. The Igorots & Moros should be revered by their countrymen as heroes who never gave in to Spanish rule. Instead, they are looked down upon. The Igorots are the part of the root of the peoples that spread all through the Pacific. Something to be proud of.

I think the Spanish really succeeded in dividing and conquering the Philippines in this way. Ilocanos and Igorots were once one, many municipalities in Ilocos today were originally inhabited by Itnegs, Kanakanaeys, Bago and other groups. We lived together, traded and even married. since my childhood the old men in our village in Apayao always told us a stories about the MANGAYAW or War and the heroic deeds of our forefathers known as MENGAL or headhunter-warrior, they told me that in the old times people in our village are very strong and brave and they put tattoo in their body after a successful headhunting and they also dance with their Gongs before and after a raid and in their village they put a high Wooden fence for protection against raiding enemy. and the people before have rules and laws that strictly follows and they had no chieftain only warriors and shamans where allowed to speak during their sacred occations.

Imagine meeting a rude and toxic Spanish person talking smack about how they colonized you for 3 Centuries and all of a sudden you told that person that your Igorot the people that embarrassed the Spanish Empire for 3 Centuries that even the USA and Japan had to admit that it is embarrassing even for them.

Excellent content!👍💯☺️ Thanks for sharing! 🙏 My pure taga ilog grandma ( Tagalog ) from a Maharlika class of taga ilogs and was one of the first shop owners in Maharlika livelihood center here in Baguio had no racial discrimination against the taga bundok ( igorots) because she knows her tribal history too and they just called people from the mountains - taga bundok. as simple as that, meron taga ilog, meron din taga bundok. haha. There are really some things that needs to be corrected and changed in Philippine History books.

Bravery of tribes fighting for country is not written in books so that they won't be remembered ,

Correction sir. It is not igorot revolt but rather the Cordillera Revolt and Igorot Resistance. The Cordillera revolution of lowlanders who retreated to the Cordillera mountains against their Spanish Conquerors, and the Igorot who resisted and were never subjects of Spanish rule described as a "conscious and continous" in the foreign writings from that time.
