Union Pacific Railroad Florin Flyer Local freight train parks its train near the Mather Field/Mills Station and proceeds east with one car past the Mather Field Road railroad crossing on the UP Placerville Branch headed to the Mather Spur track switch to head to and drop off at Pacific Supply and come back out in Rancho Cordova, California. Inbound Sacramento light rail train also passes on the SACRT Gold Line. As you can see in the second angle, A sign has been installed in front of the gateless signal unfortunately. Whats the point of putting that sign there if traffic coming from the opposide direction can't see it. Why not put it behind the crossing signal so traffic can see it. Also, this crossing and had an tail ring malfunction when it re-entered the branch off the spur and also the station pedestrian crossings also had a activation and time out malfunction from the sitting train cars. Seems as if the Feb 4th storm messed with track sensors somehow.
As you can see, the far shoulder signal still is missing the light that broke off in the Feb 4th storm. Speaking of, this day we had strong winds but not as strong as Feb 4th as you can see in the video and I took a few clips of the strong winds. Later in the day, some thunderstorms broke out so I cut chasing this day short but I did come back out right before the freight train came back.

The two far gated signals are an SACRT Late 1990s signal install installed in 1998 with bells, lights, gates, gate lights, mechanisms, and counterweight arms being the changes.

Hey @MobileRailSpotter! Love your videos! I have a suggestion for a place that you should check out sometime. Elvas Jct. is in Sacramento, and my Dad and I watch trains there a lot. Very good place to catch foreign power!

It's odd why the signals don't include that spur track. It looks really awkward to see the gates rise up like that.

tbh Kinda like that first shot in the vid as it captures all the gates and most lights gives you the idea of how much sway they can handle till well the snapping occurs. Now if only that one gates signal had a wch bell make it one lol gs is also good just sayin.
