hey brian, I really enjoy your work and have been following your posts for a while. I wanted to ask you what was used for the water fill pipes and water car connection valves at the rear of the tender? Also at the top of the tender what did you use for the those pieces that connect the fuel hoses to the tanker? The way those details look is amazing and if you can let me know it be great
For the elbows and tee fittings, I used a very old set of parts from Williams Brothers. They no longer offer that set of parts. Sorry that is not what you wanted to hear. For the fuel hoses, I used styrene rod. Believe it was .060", and used hot water to soften it up before bending to shape. I hope to have a special announcement in the next 2 weeks I believe you will be interested in, so stay tuned...
Looks great, I'll need to check out your other videos. I had a question. Will you be converting the front bulkhead to represent the oil bunker? It looked like it still had the doors for the coal bunker.
Abram Joslin yes, I will be giving the front of the tender the same treatment. Unfortunately I didn't think about asking for pictures of the front when the crew member took the pictures of the top for me. So I don't have everything I need to start on the front just yet. I'll post another video when I do finish it. Thanks.
I used a gloss over the entire tender. Then added powders and a thin coat of flat just to the top to seal the powders. The tender stays fairly clean and shinny on the sides and back. The only part that really gets dirty is the top.
