These sign boards indicated that wine shop is open but from the rear! Smart way to overcome a ban on open sale of liquor on highways in India. Open Shop' or 'Shop Open' signage was shot by Ghumakkad on NH-40 in Meghalaya. Like all national highways in India where sale of liquor is banned, the wine shops in Meghalaya also had to down their shutters. But they overcame the ban by putting up signages 'Open Shop' next to the closed metal shutters.
