After so many videos I have watched now the first time I figured out and understand how the truck's 10 gears have to be shifted. thank you my friend!. you are a great instructor.
This is Very Very helpful. Way more informative, than what I am currently getting from my instructor. I think I going to give him the link to your videos...lol. I'm Serious.
If one is going to consider learning to drive a truck. Honestly just buy an OLD FLD 120 and learn on that. Not every transmission will allow you to shift at 15, 25, 35, etc. some are geared very strange and it doesn't help when eaton makes a million different transmission configurations. Part of learning to shift these trucks is driving them on back roads in the country. Learning the simulator is nothing compared to the stress of actual road driving.
excellent instruction, I have one question though,, when you want to go from 5th gear to 6th gear, you flip the splitter while in 5th gear.I thought the splitter only communicates to the shifting if it is in Neueral only ,but you use the splitter while you are still in gear 5th. What am I missing here?
Bro I love your vids but I get the shifting part but if you could focus the camera on your legs that would awesome bc that's what I'm having trouble with also can you do some heel toe downshifting as well please!
Hey there, JJ. While floating gears can be a valuable skill to know, it is not allowed on the CDL road test. We want to ensure our students have every reason to pass their road test.
I keep hearing a grinding noise when he goes from 5th to 6. is that because he forgetting the T bar switch before he tries to go into it so it’s thinking it’s first gear and not 6th…..
@@CDLDrivingAcademy wish I could. I am currently out on the road right now though. Maybe someday you would let me come try that machine and talk to your classes about being on the road. Keep train good drivers, we need them out here.
Upshifting doesn't have to be done when you want to go faster but can also be done if the terrain allow's you to maintain speed with a higher gear and lower rpm. I suggest you learn profressive shifting. This is, shifting from the gear you are in to the nexr highest possible gear at the lowest rpm. You have a long way to go to be a trainer bro. I have watched many of your videos and you are far off. There are so many guys posting these videos. Try learning firstly.
