This is incredible! The developer does excellent work. The move to the new engine type makes so much sense now. Having different tab slots for building ques alone is an excellent upgrade, and the engine used still achieves the look and feel Tiberian Sun has. Being able to have different unit commands is also a much needed improvement, and we can see in the bottom left corner of the screen we will now have those options. You definitely deserve some patronage! I also love the SFX improvements and how the new smoke, explosion, and death animations look. Like how the explosion around a tiberium field has green smoke instead of brown from the dirt. Very impressive and important for the immersion. That attention to detail adds to the awe factor RTS games can offer and a big reason why I love this developer! The music added is quite enjoyable and feels accurate for the Tiberian universe's mood as well. It looks like the Tiberian Sun Remake we've all been waiting for!
I'm sceptical about how mods these days are being hidden behind patreon paywalls, and public releases lagging behind a lot. There's a fave RA3 mod I liked called "Remix", and that hasn't had a public release for 2-3 years now, and every other public pages listed for that mod has been radio silent since. This Ion Shock mod's last public release was 2 years ago, yet all I ever keep hearing is "latest updates are on their patreon, and there's been no updated public release... I feel that modders are taking the mickey a bit, by taking hold of old/dead IP's and trying to make passive money from them, since EA won't really budge or notice as much. This is why Microsoft sprung into action when people tried implementing MT's into their Minecraft servers, trying to get a cut of money from MS's game, which imo should never be allowed. I'm all for supporting a modder, but tip jars only, no walls, no excuses please. It's worked before in the past, it still works today.
Honestly, I think the main issue is simply the sheer extent of the lag. It'd be one thing if it was, as in some other gaming communities, standardised around patreon paywalls getting you two weeks to a month headstart or one version ahead, but when you are at multiple years behind, no indication of when another public release might come, and quite a few patreon-only updates behind you...
@@LordInsane100 Like I'm already at least 2yrs behind on Remix's updates, because either the modders vanished into thin air, or their latest are locked behind their pateon, and they barely seem to talk publicly much these days, besides an "update" youtube vid, and then it's back to plugging their patreon. I'll always see modding as a pure past-time hobby though, and I kinda wish modders of today would still respect it in that way, rather than as a new grift/forced "career" (it really isn't one, no matter what anyone says, because there's no school or degree for modding, and general society does not recognise it as a valid path).
The community is getting so much smaller nowadays and with how much time something like this could take I really doubt a tip jar would make it worth it
@@nbafsdvg The modding communities are larger than ever, that's why some modders have decided to just paywall mods now to turn modding into a "job career" (which still doesn't justify doing so, not in general society's way of things anyway).
Interesting! It's using the RA2 engine for sure, but it seems like there's a bit of restoration of things cut from the change over from the TS engine. Which is interesting, b/c IIRC, there was a version of this mod from a few years ago that was in the TS engine. That moment when you accidentally EMPed two of your own Orca Bombers... "Whoops..."
@@xniperianz5910 That is because this modder took an incredible amount of time making this look as true to TS as he could, it looks like TS and NOT like RA2 ON PURPOSE!
@@Devanite13 i'm one of ank dev team there''s something that TS engine could not achieve due to some limitation engine so the sequel need to have better engine, thats why scrin faction pulled out from warzone mod, its looks like ts but still it use ra2 engine with additional ext engine such ares & phobos, until vinifera not yet complete, ra2 engine its more superior.
Increasing the combat range and adding some unit utilities??? How do? Like keeping the sprites and voxels but adding a personal unit UI box of sorts where units can be upgraded and use skills or something. 🤔
Great feedback. How would you suggest doing that though. The only thing I can think of is to have a sort of timer on when upgrades can become available.
@@simpletube11 yes but the og game was meant to be played on very small resolutions. so when we use our modern 1600 x 1200- etc resolutions the game is tiny. like you can see a ton of the playable map
Not supporting this. Locked behind patreon walls. Make your own game if you want to sell it from the get-go. Make a mod, if you want people that play it and voluntarily contribute.
Huge moral gray area, with the patron thing NGL, what am i actually paying for? someone could challenge me on this openly and i am happy for an opposing opinion but i'm a little uneasy paying 8.50 a MONTH for a game that came out in 2000 for a MOD. I understand people put time and effort into a MOD, but its still essentially a MOD at the end of the day, its not a game made from the ground up with a budget and studio team etc. this is a passion project essentially, hell if it was a total conversion it would be more enticing, but its a bit SUS if you ask me..
Please bring quality of life updates to your mod. I would like to use my keyboard to scroll or pan around on the screen not my mouse. Also what I would like is to be able to zoom in or to make everything a little bigger on the screen.
Well, everything was fine until that abomination from C&C 4 walk out of war factory, you are using models from Tiberium Wars and even Tiberium Essence mod for wolverines and APC's and you can't use model of Mammoth mk 2 from it aswell, why it has to be that Mastodont
And he uses also different models like A-10 Warthog and Flying artillery, both are not fit for that universe. Its futuristic one, not modern one. And of-course Mastodon aberration... but, all this models are also in Warzone, and Warzone is not behind paywall as Ion Shock is!
