Been playing Wandering Sword a ton since it came out. Honestly been enjoying it a ton. Highly recommend playing it. Also can't wait for the full release of Colony ship

I just finished wandering sword after 60 hours. I would say it's a great game of you're a particular type of person. I love wuxia. I've read legend of the condor heroes. I watched shaw Brothers movies most of my life. I've played cultivation simulator and age of wushu. This game was made for me. That said, I got the worst ending and there's no new game+ option so I won't be trying again. Some general tips I have from hard lessons learned. Explore everywhere early to pick up quests you may get locked out of later. If the game warns you you're about to advance the quest, make sure you've thoroughly explored your options as it can affect the outcome of the quest, companions you can recruit and your ending. Craft gear. The crafted gear is way better than standard dropped loot. You will want to grind. Conception and Penetration meridians are key because they boost your base stats (agility, strength, con, internal power) and evasion, hp, mp are derivative of those stats. Focus on one weapon. Max your affection with all your companions and important characters. Make heavy use of the consult option to unlock new martial arts, with special focus on cultivation methods since they grant more meridian points. Enjoy your journey into jianghu.

One of the few channels I watch almost everyday, well more of a listen on the morning commute. For what I’m playing, it continues to be BG3, between work and real life I don’t have a lot of time to play game, but BG3 is the first game in years I have been making time to play.

Oh wow, I played a demo for Dark Envoy I think during steam summerfest? And then totally forgot to add it to my wish list, so I'm glad you brought it up again!

I'm interested in Colony Ship. As soon as i heard the Age of Decadence it piqued my curiosity even more. Age of Decadence has a very unique setting (Post-Apocalyptic, Steampunk setting with a touch of Rome aesthetics), a somewhat hardcore/difficult approach to combat/rules with a lot of maneuverability (you can do a diplomat playthrough for instance), multiple factions & multiple endings. I suspect Colony Ship will be similar.

I'd love to add to this one, but the only one I have on the indie scene is next year's 'Cat Quest III'. The series is a fun little set of Action RPGs with adorable artwork and theming, along with surprisingly robust combat and ability mixing, meaning that you actually do have some options in how you play. The devs, the Gentlebros, are also quite fond of post game support and updates, adding things like new game + to both the prior Cat Quests, but also 'Mew Game Modes'(The puns are a feature, not a bug), which can change the game up, with actual rewards for playing it in harder/different ways, something a lot seem to forget to do, or worse punish you more for playing on them.

The best part about indie games is that there's always a possibility that one of your reviews blows up like your Kingdom Come Deliverance One. Onward to 300k. All glory to the algorithm.

Wandering Sword is really fun, a bit of a grind but still fun.

I can't wait for Endless Dungeon. Love the art style and it reminds me of OmD and Sanctum series. I agree, it feels Hades was blended in as well. I would have mentioned Dungeon Defenders series as a comparison but the quality of those games went down IMO.

Colony ship and dark envoy are the most interesting to me, interested in that sci-fi crpg we don't often see

There's a CRPG that came to Early Access back in August that I haven't heard too many people talk about. It's called Edge of War. It's very similar to something like Solasta mixed with Pillars of Eternity and has inspirations of European folklore.

I've been looking forward to Dark Envoy for awhile now after playing Tower of Time on your recommendation.. But Cyber Knights I hadn't heard about, looks very interesting.

Looking forward to Colony Ship, played the Early Access and loved all the factions, writing and characters. The new Hero mode is definitely a good way for first time players to jump in to learn all the system mechanics and combat before jumping into Underdog, if they aren’t familiar with Iron Tower combat.

Dark Envoy is something I've got my eye on. The sibling thing is neat, it had some unexplored potential in that Greak game.

Hi Mortym! Looking forward to Lamplighter's League. I'm down for a quirky caper with a band of 1930's adventurers. Dark Envoy is another one I've had wishlisted for a while.

Already complete Wandering Sword. It is a good introduction to this kind of Wu Xia RPG to western audiance, which has been already developed since 1990s but limited to Asia market all the time. The game it self has some system I see pointless, and a bit rush at last part of the story, but it is overall a well-made game.

Wandering Sword is really high on my wishlist. I love Wuxia (and xianxia) settings! Sadly not many get translated to English and often enough the translation is rough. However I won't buy any new games as long as I haven't finished at least one BG3 playthrough. Seeing how I turn every stone ten times I'm sure you'll pick it up before me even though your schedule is so full :D

I was about to say that Indie developers have very short window to release their games between BG3, Cyberpunk and Rogue Trader, but Owlcat just dropped release date on Pathfinder DLC so that window got even smaller. ^^

Insane year of gaming. Especially for RPG fans. I usually look forward to a new release, if it's a big game then finish it within 50-100 hours (or a month or 2 in real life time) then work on my backlog for few months until next release. This year it's been since july there are games that kept being released and will release

I am curious about Endless Dungeon 2. Remember that first one was quite laggy after many rooms were unlit. Hopefully they do something about it. And yeah, Broken Roads looks really good

Very excited for Colony Ship to release! Absolute gem of a game, I hope it gathers the traction it deserves after it escapes the tethers of Early Access.

I hope more people will buy Colony ship after this video. Unique setting, great character building, so many interesting quests and characters and one of the best combat systems I saw in CRPGs. This game deserves more love and attention.

I'm REALLY enjoying Colony Ship at the moment. I took a one day break to complete the MK1 story, but otherwise I've played nothing else in about a month.

Very hard to say what i end up liking, but so far favorite indies released this year were Last Spell and Void Stranger for me.

Tower of Time was a great wee game. The developers were really good as well. I messaged them about something in game, and they came back to me then went away and changed it.

Wandering Sword is really good. Well, if you can stand a bit of iffy translation in places. Its quite a good game from characters to progression systems.

Colony Ship and Cyberknights are the ones I'm most curious about. Wandering Sword has potential too but my backlog of TRPG is already huge. I have yet to finish BG3 and Nioh2, I'm playing Path of Exile and Guild Wars on the side and I have not even started Elden Ring (I save it for when I upgrade my PC a bit) .

Just curious, when you do videos like these, would you be able to add if the game is coming to consoles or not?

Wizard with a Gun is giving me strong Don't Starve vibes. I don't think building is going to be a minor element in that one. From the footage I've seen so far it looks very much like you are going to be building up some kind of base where you will craft new magical ammunition from acquired ingredients.

Great job dude, You become my best indicator for good IP and the ones to avoid like the plague. You could maybe consider to do a proper review for each of the stalker games.

I've been following Project Haven for a long while now, Steam still lists a 2023 release date but I'm not sure if it'll make it... either way I'm looking forward to that one.

Hello Mortym, I'm still wating for you to review or at least have some fun with Grim Dawn. There was actually a new major expansion announced for 2024, with the last one releasing 2019. And with your love of ARPGs and the problems of Diablo 4, it could show many people another alternative.

another October release, Oct 2, is (i believe its an indie game) Quasimorph. looks awesome IMO however this could just be an EA release as well. im unsure, it says its in EA right now, but releasing on Oct 2

Right now I'm traveling, so playing nothing. PS Plus essential is giving Weird West and Callisto Protocol in october. You said both games are worth giving a try, so I will do just that next week.

I am really curious how you are determining what is an indie game vs. not an indie game. You have Harebrained Schemes's Lamplighters League (published by Paradox) as not an indie, but you have Endless Dungeon which is created by a studio owned by Sega (and published by Sega) as an indie game. Just curious if you have a moment to share your thoughts!

There's a game called Beast, it's tactical, medieval themed and supposed to have a lot of metal music in its OST. Not sure who's the developer though.
