Playing this game almost 2 years ago was one of the best decisions I made gamer wise. Easily one of my top favorite video games of all time. been 6 months... april 2024 is here, still no next gen update. where is it? so much for transparency.

Just discovered this game, but seeing devs being so transparent and clear with their community communications is rare these days. Love seeing this game continue to develop and grow. It is certainly underrated.

David is doing such a good job, him and who else is in control of directions is doing a great job. can tell they play and keep an eye on the community for suggestions and feedback. these are some of all of my most looked forward to changes and suggestions ive had and just general frustrations resolved

I hope we'll get a winter wildcard condition at some point! Piles of snow on the map could change the map geometry completely, with the snow creating new covers or pathways to higher ground. Snowy fields could be slower to traverse, just like in water. And then there's added audio when the snow crunches under your feet. Oh, and since the snow is mostly white, it would also shake up the legendary hunter meta, because dark clothed characters would be easier to spot against the snow! There could be the occasional blizzard of course, but I'm not too keen on that. :D

Love the effort, communication, and transparency! Keep it up, Hunt team. Also, the camera looks good on you, David! Whoever worked on the script+your delivery of it made this buttery smooth and easy to understand.

Adore this game and I am glad to see the continued support and push into the current generation.

It's extremely rare nowadays to see a developer that puts this much effort into the improvement of a 6 year old game 👍

I love how Hunt Showdown believe in their own game and know why we love it, the team have a great sense of awareness of themselves and it shows in the New Road map ahead. I have never heard a better update from any company, even outside of gaming. The honestly alone nowadays is amazing enough, but the improvements you are making are top tier. I also think it goes a long way explaining the reason behind the changes, like the 90% of the player base being above the new minimum requirements. It shows that you actually are improving with direction and understanding of your players. Never seen anything like it ❤ Thank you!

I'm beyond excited for the current gen console upgrade. Your console community maybe smaller, but we are dedicated, and we love the game just as much as our PC brothers. Thank you for supporting us!

Hopefully you guys will have twitch drop for Lulu and steel Eye like you did for Billy Stories. That way players that missed getting these hunters and their weapons and gear will have a chance to get them.

I was really hoping that you'd have the Cryengine update out before the end of the year but hopefully the changes coming are enough to keep players around until then. I've been playing since alpha and this is still my favorite extraction shooter. Thank you for your dedication to the franchise!

Some things we might see with this engine upgrade/raised minimum spec just to get people excited. Almost entirely speculative: - ray traced reflections and shadows (both features in cryengine 5 to varying degrees). Will likely NOT require a gpu with hardware acceleration given Cryteks push for a software based, hardware agnostic raytracing method. Raytraced reflections will probably even work on new minimum spec. This will be most noticeable on bodies of water, and metallic objects like gun models where SSR really falls apart. - ray traced shadows would allow for more lights/objects casting shadows. For example, fire in Hunt almost never casts shadows. Higher fidelity as well. - improved lighting quality, higher detail from SVOGI. Hunt already uses a form of ray traced global illumination. The max quality available will likely be raised. - increased model quality, LOD distance, and render distance (less pop in, higher detail models at distance). This one to me is a no-brainer and is what really makes this game look dated - direct storage means faster loading into matches, but more importantly helps with the streaming of higher detail assets mentioned above - better anti-aliasing methods. FSR 2 will probably already look better than the native TAA in Hunt, but we could see DLSS and XeSS down the line which both look far better than older AA methods when run at native resolution. Added performance benefits when used as upscalers is also a plus. All I've got. I'm just a nerd who loves tech and Hunt Showdown. Don't take my word on any of this lol

Pleace add DLSS as well =D I get that FSR is useable on any GPU, but as for quality, DLSS is, thus far, the better option for those who havew a RTX card =)

i've been playing since 2021 and still didn't seen any similar game. I love Hunt so much, have played so many hours, bought on a console and pc. Still not bored of this game. Devs are GOAT

Been playing Hunt since very early EA(still remember dying my first time to those terrifying hellhounds lol) and I love this game with a passion(3k hours, I ought to); I have never been more hyped than I am with David, the communication and direction of the game as I am now. Looking forward to everything and keep up the amazing work

I really hope there is a plan to make the game more rewarding for putting in the hours. As of right now (with the old BB system gone), I get on Hunt to do my weeklys and then get off until next week, unless playing a game sounds particularly fun. Where as before I would play ALL day long knowing that I was being rewarded for my hours with BBs so I could purchase skins. There NEEDS to be something in the game to make players want to play other than gameplay and an event that you will finish regardless, as long as you stay on top of your weeklys.

Great stuff! Nice to see FSR2 but please, PLEASE include DLSS eventually on the engine upgrade. Having all upscaling tech (FSR2, XeSS, and DLSS) is better for everyone. There's been a trend recently of devs only including one option and calling it a day.

Appreciate the transparency, I can't wait to the new engine transition. Everything sounds great, but the voice system isn't supposed to be work this way? When voice travels just like footsteps, dead hunters can't speak, etc. It surely needs a rework and I know that Discord players have an edge over randoms, but it was so awesome to hear someone talking or even make a deal with the enemy.

Hunt: showdown is my favorite game ever. It's my most played game on steam with 1200 hours.....I'll be saying goodbye starting April unfortunately, because I simply cannot afford a better PC. Current PC is already struggling in general. I really wish I could replace it, but I simply have to prioritize my family. @hunt: showdown developers, thank you for all your effort and making a game that truly gave me joy for the last 5 years. I'll be there until April. I wish you all happy hunting!

When i bought the game on day 1 i was amazed and couldnt wait what would come. Even tho i cant play as often as i used to, im still playing with the same day 1 joy.

How early in 2024 will we see the new engine? Asking for a friend

As much as people dislike the Valorant Anti Cheat System i think its one of my favorites. Most particularly b/c it tells you that something was done about your report when/if it does. Sometimes itll be days later just saying something like "You're report about toxic activity has been verified" (or whatever it was you reported for). This alone is enough to give people the understanding that the reports are being taken seriously and quickly. Being that i have been playing Hunt since 2018 i can say what it has always looked like on player side is that reports are a waste of time. Having a thing pop up to give you something solid to see would really change the way player base sees how yall care and or are dealing with the severity of cheating/toxic behavior

Finally being able to search for 3rd partner when duo playing. So happy about this! On the other hand, I am not too happy with the fact that they will remove the broadcast revealing position when communicating.

I hope DLSS comes as part of that engine update because it is objectively better than FSR.

The upgrade process for old consoles is incredibly generous, not everyone would be willing to do it nowadays because it would just be easy money.

As an early Alpha player from pre-Early Access release and proud member of the 10% of affected players due to the engine upgrade, it's been a blast but I will have to stop playing in 2024 when Hunt moves to 5.11. Sadly there is no chance of me ever being able to build a PC in the current economic climate (especially being from the UK). Thanks a million for the 2,000+ hours. All good things must come to an end.

I love you guys for all the hard work youve put in over the half decade. Ive played off and on but these last 2-3 months Hunt is all I've played. That being said one of the best parts of Hunt's pvp is that there is zero aim assist. Please dont add it to the game.
