Our neighbors home build is making progress. We are in drought conditions, we need rain badly.

Cool, can't wait to see the house when its finished. Thanks for showing drainage area in the back along the wall, was curious about that. It looks like the neighbors when they are in the carport will be looking down into your pool area. Surprised they didn't use "tie backs" in the retaining wall up front to keep the wall from being pushed forward, maybe its because they sloped the front retaining wall therefore they didn't need to do tie backs? Thanks for posting this video, Greg...Jim

Some build sisterns here, but need to be concerned about mold. Drip bleach system helps, but never seen one here. If just for watering plants then really doesn't matter.

lower level will be cooler , Greg are Sona tubes ,(Strong cardboard tubes )to build concrete posts /pillars available there ? really good looking designed house! above the water as you notice . A water cistern in the lower level would be a great idea
@buildingthephilippines
@buildingthephilippines 3 месяца назад
I have never seen those tubes for pouring concrete. They usually use a 4 x 8 sheet of plywood cut to form up for pouring concrete. Might be available in the larger cities, but never seen it here. Water collection is always a good idea.

Nice touch to add wiring for lighting on the post on the front wall. Something I forgot on my current build in Panglao. What about a septic tank on this build? Where is it going to go on this property? thanks

Exciting to see this build as we did yours. However, have to ask what time did the music start? This is one thing we my wife and I move later this year to Luzon that I want to avoid at all costs. If not have sound proof windows LOL 😆

great update and looks like it will be a nice house .. can you guesstimate the distance between the columns in the basement /tool storage area? looks about 15 20 ft? that is an insane amount of dirt they are trucking in ..i would have left that whole basement area open but then again ,,,not my build lol

I believe it's about 5 meters or 16 feet.

I'd be interested in making a cool basement rather than filling it with dirt. The vlogger up in Lipa did that.

Always nice to watch Filipino methods of house construction, Greg! 👍 It’s especially interesting for me, since we might be building our new house, this Fall, unless we can find an RFO house. The search continues… Be assured, though, Christine and I will eventually be a 10%er 😂🤣 As soon as I can finish my liquidation in the U.S., and get my house on the market, and sold 🥵 Looking forward to visiting with you and Wilma 9/02-07! ❤️

Those basement walls could do with rendering on the outside and a few coats of Shell Flintcote waterproof coating on the outside to prevent water seeping through the walls, otherwise it could get a bit wet in the basement.
@buildingthephilippines
@buildingthephilippines 3 месяца назад
Thanks for that insight. I will pass along that suggestion.
@paulharwood6864

Let the render shrink,crack and dry out for around one month before applying membrane otherwise the cracks in the render will transfer through the waterproof membrane. Elasticity of the membrane doesn't mean anything regarding new cracks developing.

How much of a problem is the monster boombox? I noticed the same issue coming from an old farm house near the lot we are considering. I suppose it makes roosters seem not so bad. Being hard of hearing might be a blessing with such a neighbor.
@buildingthephilippines
@buildingthephilippines 3 месяца назад
It's an issue all over the Philippines, especially in towns, for example, where there's many homes. We are pretty lucky.
