The new factory looks really good, but I already built every factory, from your videos. So I would love to see the higher tier factorys, like oil products, computer, ... I hope to see those in the future.

I had a computer factory ready but it’s pre Update 5 so I’ll be redesigning it. Wanted to at least get the factory that landed me great success updated with what’s new in Update 5 at the very least to shed light on how I’m looking to approach future designs. This way people don’t need to wait for a video that’ll take some time to do and they can start pulling inspiration and techniques this Tuesday when the update drops.

Started playing this game with my buddies a while ago. We took your sandwich layer design and built a factory that satisfied every ounce of our inner architects. Thank you for making these because not only do they help refine the skills of more experienced players, they introduce new players to the different aspects of efficiency! Absolutely satisfactory, Scalti.

The visibility is significantly reduced while within an enclosed area, and even up top, this patch vs last. I'm not sure if that is due to your material choice, but I think having the flashlight on would be a big help. Love the content though!

Now I’ve moved in to the Dune Desert and set up my first finished mini concrete factory, 100% optimized for a single node instead of 13 nodes at once in my large factory. @Tantalus010
@Tantalus010 2 года назад
6:00 Scalti makes it look easy, but if you're like me, you've struggled with trying to line up belts for a perfect 90 degree turn. Here's a tip that may help: you can rotate belts while placing them, and floor guides will help you line them up with their destinations. So, in this case, when you're building the Mk 2 conveyors, hop up on top of the splitter that has the Mk 3 line coming into it and stay there. Look down and start a Mk 2 line coming out of that splitter, then use your mouse wheel to rotate the blueprint so the output end is rotated 90 degrees and facing the correct direction. After that, keep dragging out the length and the game will show you line guides on the floor when the output is lined up with something.
@brohvakiindova4452
@brohvakiindova4452 2 года назад
it's even easier, example on an assembler output into a merger: set up the belt from the merger backwards and stop exactly 2 clicks before the orientation line of the output shows, then from this 2 click conveyor pole offset just connect to the output (reason I start from merger is sometimes you don't have space at the output to go 2 clicks towards the machine) or even simpler said, whenever you want a 90° bend just stop 2 clicks before the crossing point with a straight piece and do the bend (not necessarily connecting anything if you want to be extra safe but it's pretty idiot proof)

what I really want to see, going forward, is more of the thought process and trial-and-error build process that goes into one of these -- I'd dearly love to see a video of your actually figuring out what goes where, how and why. huh - was curious what the vid was about and figured I might spot some things I'd not thought of... but I did not expect to find out that you could just blind create the vertical logistics lifts without specifying the endpoint... and just make it later (presumably only when paired with the floor hole, but regardless that you can do this at all is *very* useful to know)

hey @Scalti if I may message a suggestion. when you're doing the work on the sandwich layer, if you change your primary color swatch to white and a bright color, it would be a lot easier to see what's happening. and, if course, change the color swatch back to the desired color after the last sandwich layer is complete. you can save your favorite colors in the Customizer and fast load them to save time. as always, great video. keep 'em coming!

I love the Scalti style designs; some of the best ideas around and very accessible to new and established players. I am also excited for the new update 5 style designs. But constructively, I found this guide exceptionally difficult to see. Almost all the important logistical work, within the sandwich layers and especially the foundation layer, was basically a non-starter for me. I'm sure I could easily figure out my own way of doing it from the locations of the holes, but the black conveyor holes on dark grey foundations inside a dark unlit space was just not workable. And to be entirely honest, I would almost call it a total do over.

That’s quite fair. The primary display I use is quite bright and color calibrated (graphic designer) and so as a result, isn’t what others would typically experience. You’re not the first to say this so I’m strongly considering a redo or at the very least a color correction in post of what’s been recorded and a re-upload.
