Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni Thursday afternoon held a ceremony at his Royal Palace in Phnom Penh to welcome Chinese President Xi Jinping.
When arriving at the Royal Palace, a Cambodian young woman presented a jasmine bracelet to Xi.
The military band played the Chinese and Cambodian national anthems at the ceremony. Accompanied by King Norodom Sihamoni, Xi reviewed the guards of honor of Cambodia.
This is Xi's first state visit to Cambodia since he took office three years ago. He is expected to hold talks with Cambodian Prime Minister, Hun Sen.
Bilateral trade between China and Cambodia reached 4.4 billion U.S. dollars last year. China pledged 600 million U.S. dollars in aid to Cambodia over the next five years.
After Cambodia, Xi will travel to Bangladesh and the western Indian state of Goa, where he will attend a summit of the emerging-market bloc of BRICS, which groups Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.
