I am a shelie lover, I've owned 3 and all of them were tri color. I have never seen a grey Sheltie, Jasper is a gorgeous Sheltie. Thank you for sharing Jasper's homecoming. I know you will enjoy many happy years together
Lol... Ollie isnmore of a silky smooth wavy coat, and Jasper is a dry, Poofy always Coiffed coat. I actually brushed them today (been a long time!) Jasper has alot more undercoat light grey, whereas Ollie alot less, and mostly black top coat when brushed and more knotted.
@@olliejasper2862 I think Sheltie coats are easy to maintain. We brushed mostly once a week. Our “mutt” Holly was a lab/beagle and only heaven knows what else and the hair when shedding was awful. Now we have a Pomeranian and he is like Jasper - always looks groomed. Glad Ollie and Jasper have each other. And I agree, I don’t think Shelties are barkers, ours were not either. Now the bossy little Pomeranian is another story!
Beautiful Shelties! Males will often have thicker coats than females. Also, for those of you struggling to prevent your Sheltie from escaping from their collars, invest in martingale collar. It is loose fitting until they the dog puts pressure on it. It has a double loop so it will tighten when they try to slip out of it. These collars are also used for other dogs with thicker necks and narrow heads like greyhounds. But don't leave a dog unsupervised while wearing this type of collar. It's a choking risk if it gets caught on something.
Pretty babies! Such good babies also! 🌿💙 Have a bi-black male and a Sable female. Grizzley and Lilo, 6 months.. they are a handful aren't they, lol. A beautiful handful tho. 💙❤️
They have 2 coats, so mostly rhe undercoat when you brush. They shed minimal, but I am proactive with a brush that will get the undercoat. Maybe a light 2 minutes brush twice a week.
Jamie the kids turned out awesome and they seem so well behaved! If you don't mind me asking what collars are you using.. when we had our girls we were using regular collars and they would slip out of them from time to time so we went to harnesses.. Rick
Yay! Happy to see them all fluffy and doing well. I could never get a collar to stay on my sheltie as he has way too much fur around his neck and he'd just slip out, so we have a harness for him.
The rolled leather collars are better on the long haired dogs than the traditional flat strap. Problem is finding one small enough to fit securely on a Sheltie without them being able to pull out of it. Their fur gives the impression of them being a much larger dog than what they really are. Their bones are tiny, but their brains & heart are huge!
I came from your video on tipping Ollie’s ears. It looks like they both have pricked ears now, unless I’m mistaken. Do you think it is not worth it, putting in the time and effort into tipping the ears? My 5 month old sheltie came from the breeder with tipped (glued) ears, and as it came off, I just never re-did it because they were sitting naturally tipped. However; after a month of not having the procedure on, one ear started to come up lol so I’m trying to decide on what to do. Also; you mentioned Ollie and Jasper are only 3 months apart. How was your experience getting a second puppy while still have a young one in your hands? Most people suggest waiting until one is full grown and can help discipline the young newer pup, but I’ll tell you… I’d really love a second one and have them play together. Would love to hear your experience! Thanks and congrats on the gorgeous pups!!
