Wow that is a beautiful tree that will just keep getting even more beautiful with time amazing 🙏🏻 you have such a great eye for building beautiful structure in short time
Great work. I have a morton bay fig which i collected from northern Australia in 1988. It has been very roughly maintained as a bonsai but is now really ready for a good prune back It was root trimmed and repotted last year and is very healthy with a base and trunk that has great potential. It is late winter here now. Is it possible to successfully take cuttings of the two to three inch diameter branches? Or should i air layer it? What season is best for a significant rejuvenation pruning. I also noted you said that you wounded the tree which produced more roots. Is that simply cutting the bark and waiting or is there more to the process. I would appreciate your advice as this has great potential and i want to develop the tree as an ongoing project over the coming years / decades. Thanks
By the way...How did you get that profusion of aerial roots in the lower part of the branch, which appear at minute 2:45? Congratulations on your choices and your driving work. More success for the channel and greetings from Brazil!!
Thank you very much. I removed the bark in that area and treated eith rooting hormone gel. I wrapped the entired base in plastic bag to raise humidity. It is like an air-layering but just a small part.
