I’m getting a lot of comments saying a must have clicked on a pop up that asked if I wanted to drop my prices. I guess anything is possible but I was actually keeping my eye out for a pop up to explain the changes and I never got anything. Very frustrating 😢

I don't sell on mercari, but other sellers said there was a banner that said drop all your prices by 10% with one click. I also understand that if you didn't change something in each listing then you'd still have to pay 10%fee.

With the price drop you saw, could it be that Vendoo did something? I think sellers that have linked services (like Vendoo or List Perfectly) always blame the selling platforms without considering that these linked services could be the problem.

yes you must have allowed them to drop 10% as my listings hasn't changed. but overall i am happy paying no fee. i already give free 30 day return and free ship on ebay so this mercari change has no impact on me. oh and i give free ship on mercari so i don;'t think my buyer will mind paying the 10% or so fee.

I've been with Mercari for over three years and ever since they announced no fees for sellers, I have not had one sale and had consistent sales at least once a day in the past. I am thinking about dropping out! Mercari wants me to drop prices 10% and I won't do that. I think it truly sucks that they are doing this! Now buyers are going to expect cheap prices or free shipping! Terrible, just terrible!

My sales have significantly slowed. I used to sell 5-6 BUNDLES a day. Now I'm getting one sale every few days.

I deactivated all 2,000 listings on Mercari the same morning as the released info. I was thinking about it before for about 3 months and that was the last straw. My eBay sales are more than 75% better then Mercari

I've had no sales on mercari, not even lowballs. I have hundreds of listings on the app. I have expensive items and affordable items. Right now there is a mass exodus of users on mercari. I'm so disappointed, mercari was doing great for me for a while (even better than posh!) Tbh i think its shady that they made all of these changes overnight, too... Luckily my ebay has blown up. I hope things continue to go well for you, as you're such a hardworking and sweet person.

I never sold on Mercari before, but just sold 2 things the past 2 days. They were offers, but factoring in eBay fees, I'm still coming out ahead. With that said, I'm not sure how buyers are going to react long term. I do see a lot of "views", though when compared to eBay, though, so not sure what to make of that. But even with the $2 transaction fee for direct deposit as well, I think I'll be double listing for the forseeable future.

I’ve found that eBay has been tried and true for me. I’ve tried selling on a few different platforms. I’ve just found it’s been worth to put 100% into eBay. All the effort to cross list and run multiple platforms for minimal sales compared to eBay

@@UsernameOG0 same for me, but I go ahead and crosslist. They have an import function and I've had a couple of sales so far. If anything it's saved me quite a bit of fees on the two I did sell. Then again, this is a part time gig for me, so it's not much more work to roll it into Mercari as well.

It’s happening to everyone, and it IS being talked about. Totally unethical practices and really bad move. I like you am holding onto the idea of leaving the platform. They actually did give the option of dropping prices by 10% after announcing they were dropping their fees, but it was a one-click thing and very deceptive. You probably clicked without realizing it. Then they turned around and said they were charging us to get our money. The whole package stinks.

I use FedEx Ground Economy...its the cheapest...for Mercari. The label has 2 scan codes , one for FedEx And USPS. USPS comes to pick up my mail and they scan it, then FedEx picks up that mail at the USPS office. 2lbs is $7.99 etc. I haven't had any problems...

Mercari had a pop up that said they could bulk drop all my listings by 10% which would also update all the listing to be in the no selling free program. Maybe you clicked yes trying to dismiss it. It was at the same time they announced the no selling fees.

Mercari is my slowest platform but it was picking up 1st quarter and up over $1k from 2023 1st quarter . Since the change over dead stop fewer likes no offers and $0 sales . Still think it was a dumb move on their part . They could have split the fees if they wanted to radically change something

Same thing here. Mercari is my slowest platform, too. Now, since the change, I am getting no sales and I refuse to drop my prices! Terrible move on their part!

My sales have stayed the same on Mercari since the change; hopeful that maybe Mercari will survive. I had a similar thought to you, in that I wasn't sure if I would still cross-list if Mercari dies. Mercari is my main secondary platform, and I also get a sprinkling from poshmark (newer to me) and some on on etsy (although very dry lately)! So if Mercari tanks, I don't know if it's worth the money to keep paying vendoo to cross-list.

I don't sell, just buy. The searches on items I have saved the new listings are priced the same as they have been prior to passing on the fees to the buyers. I'm not stupid and know how reselling works. Sellers pad the prices to include additional fees like listing fees and Paypal fees, shipping if it's supposedly "free" shipping. I'm sorry, but I'm not paying padded prices ontop of additional fees. I won't be buying on Mercari. A $42.00 item I wamted went up $20.00 by the time fees, tax and shipping was added. Not happening. And the only time I asked for a discount was when I bundled items which was twice. I bought at full price or waited for the seller to make an offer of a lower price.

I found your video since I was wondering if others were experiencing a drop in Mercari sales since the change. I was doing a few sales a week over there but since the change I've only sold ONE item! I don't think buyers are liking paying fees to buy when they can go over to eBay and Poshmark and get the same item without paying the fees, possibly at the same price since they can make an offer or "watch" or "like" the item and receive an offer. I refused to drop my prices on Mercari since I would always sell there via an offer anyway. I think this change is the beginning of the end for this platform. Hope they change it back! I am in SoCal as well...tired of the rain but yeah my sales have been better! lol

Sabrina, Mercari gave me an option to drop my prices by 10% so I let them do it. Not sure what happened with yous though. I have decided to just do one deposit a month because of the 2.00 fee. I really hope Mercari stays around because I really like selling there.

and the buyers aren't out 10% specifically due to if you lower 10% they're saving the 10% on something they want. It's been tough though.

I got a banner that said it could drop all my prices but it didn’t even work when I clicked on it. I’ve not been selling long on Mercari but my sales are definitely slowed down and I’ve not been getting the same traffic even with lower prices.

The delisting relisting error is because there is some form of offer in process. The buyer has either send you an offer or you have sent one and they haven’t expired yet. All platforms block those listings from going through the process. All cross listers will get the error.

I'm in the same boat as you. I didn't get an option to opt in on the price drop. Maybe there was a pop-up that said do you want to update your listings? But it didn't say Mercari will also lower your prices. I also put in free shipping and made a couple of sales, but with the price drop, I'm not making that much profit. I will also change all free shipping to Mercari shipping. Also, the $2 ACH withdrawal fee is waive through April 3. I guess people complained how there was no advance notice.

I sell maybe 2 things an month on Mercari. I was debating to post on there anymore before...so I am going to focus on eBay and Etsy personally and start concentrating on not cross posting a ton.

I'm the opposite. Never posted on Mercari and have had two sales recently. For me, it looks like it is easy to import from eBay and then edit it once it is on Mercari. Just one more option for me to sell, so I'm ok with letting things sit there.

Ebay is my primary. I cross post on DibDit but don't see much action there. After a whole weekend and seeing just one sale, the time has come that I need to seek out more options. I am going to give Mercari a try, Hopefully it will work out for me.

Ebay does the same with giving discounts on my items. Maybe I need to check my settings. It's only 5% so it's not a big deal. I'm happy it Sold ☺️

Since the changes, I've had zero sales on Mercari. I've been slowly cross-posting my eBay listings on Mercari. I only have 220 listings on Mercari at the moment. Mercari is trying to drum up business. They removed seller fees in hopes to have sellers drop their prices a little or to the 10% to where they're cheaper than the other sites, since no fees are being charged. Mercari is also hoping people don't transfer their money out and use that money in Mercari to make purchases and keep that money in house. The one thing that annoys me about Mercari, that when you're searching for an item by lowest price, it doesn't factor in the shipping. So someone can have cassette listed for 3.99 + 4.99 shipping and mine could be listed for $7.98 free shipping, and Mercari shows their price still as lower in the search, when it actually isn't when you factor in everything.

Since the new changes, none of my items are sold except free shipping plus lowest price. I saw if you tried to buy like a buyer and the cost is really expensive. 😅like 10 dollar more plus shipping fee.

My opinion; I have been getting way more sales with this new change. Also my opinion that Mercari’s new update is great. I could explain but it way take up too much space and time. Also my posts did not drop 10% when I updated my store, sorry that happened to you.

Just to clear up a misconception. Using funds does not mean buyers can avoid all fees. They still get charged the 5-10% Service Fee. It's the 2.9%+50-cent Payment Processing Fee that they save on, since using Mercari funds means that Mercari doesn't have to pay merchant fees.

I took all free shipping items also. I’m not going to pay for the shipping when the returns have picked up exponentially!! I can’t afford that kind of loss!! Also took alot of my more expensive items down.

my sales have kicked up alot since the change. Also there was a link sent to drop the prices by 10% they didnt lower mine but rather gave me the option to lower them if i wanted. if you clicked on that link thats why they are lower now.

I was asked whether or not I wanted to drop them by 10 percent. I think when the pop up happened you must of hit something to activate it. But they for sure sent a message for you to opt in.

I WAS going to possibly look into cross listing on Mercari but from all the crap I hear it doesn't sound much better than ebay anyway and I have plenty of trouble with ebay already. Another headache I don't need.

Hi, You might have accidentally hit the button in the beginning. When the little chicken showed up on our pages, just below it was a button asking you to drop your listings by 10%. I barely seen it. I can see how people would have accidentally hit that button.

It's early. Wait until buyers catch on. As a buyer, I will use mercari very sparingly from now on. And wait until you start having to deal with returns. Good luck.

I like the community of doll collectors on Mercari so much, I'm afraid it will change now. I'm not a big reseller, I only sell dolls on mercari. I clean dolls for therapy and sell them to buy more dolls. I hope this doesn't hurt my ability to continue doing this for my anxiety. :( Wow that sux they auto changed your items, there was a pop-up to change manually or auto. I think it will hinder people seeing the fee to purchase items and go somewhere else. The buyers are getting screwed, the shipping is high and they are getting an extra fee. Oh I saw that coupon and brought something right away....hahaha.

@@magicalworldofthrifting seller mislead description. The funny thing is that was my 1st experience on the app and it turned out to be my last lol. I got my money back and the seller got his money released. So I’m guessing Mercari takes the L. Still have the item packed and ready for return if needed.

mercari is my side platform I mostly a eBay sellerI charge shipping on most of my items on Ebay as a average buyer they will not understand the fees that macari is charging them but if you get a buyer that are used to buy at Online Auctions buyers premium They will understand the concept But we mostly are dealing with average buyers And most of the time they don't know. How much shipping really actually cost I was happy paying a flat 10% if i Sold it on eBay. I'll be paying more fees how they How they like you to promote the items there But eBay does have more buyers and traffic items Yes, you may get more sellers with no selling fee nice for seller but will buyer with the new fee This is how I do macari baked in the shipping cost into the price to have free shipping for the buyer and ship it on my own Because I like to use pirate ship my ebay and mercari The customer still only have 3 days. After they received the item to put in for a return If they rate you first return window is closed They cannot open a return this how I understand it.
