Update On Ruby 9-11-2024

The paint repair on Ruby is coming along. It took 6 coats of primer and wet sanding between each coat but it feels a lot better than it did yesterday.

Thanks. I hear ya man. I had the paint code but it still depends on how many coats to get the right color. I did some test shots and looked like I was pretty close. I've been spraying light coats and building it up. Almost there, maybe one more coat.

I had a rust spot on a door of my 08 Cadillac CTS, its 3 stage paint, i used Dupli-Color Dodge Dakota red & its pretty good. You really gotta take your time & hopefully it will be as close as possible.

Just a thought you might want to consider. How about you block out that diseased area with a black or semi-gloss black area ? Yep, it will look different, but it will not stand out like mismatched red/gloss. Well it will stand out, but it will look by design. I feel your pain with the mishap. I suspect you'll be chasing this red patch for a bit and never be satisfied. Just my two cents, appreciate your posts
