JP Morgan, Chase and Wells Fargo banks recently reported their second quarter losses at 3 1/2 billion dollars and that is just for two banks all due to bad debt and delinquent loans that they do not expect to receive back. This number has jumped $1 billion a year over year. Clearly this economy is not working for everyone otherwise people would be paying their bills.

We Are in Unchartered Financial Waters! every day we encounter challenges that have become the new standard. Although we previously perceived it as a crisis, we now acknowledge it as the new normal and must adapt accordingly. Given the current economic difficulties that the country is experiencing in 2024, how can we enhance our earnings during this period of adjustment? I cannot let my $680,000 savings vanish after putting in so much effort to accumulate them.

I decided to hire a CFA, even though I was skeptical at first, and I beat the market by more than 9%. After over two decades in the banking industry...Chase is not the only one...Barnett Bank was once the so called largest bank in florida...or they thought they were...anyway they did have a bank on every street corner. My experience is with banks from the 1970s till early 90s....but there was always money missing from employee theft. Much was because of the low pay of lower management positions. Employees working around money and desperately cant afford their bills. But during my time in the early 80s everything changed...efficiency experts cutting staff to nothing and working people to death. Barnett would actually send tellers out to a remote drive in...from 7 am to 7pm and begrudge them a lunch...not even a bathroom break. At the time the 3 tellers would have cars lined to the street from opening to closing. From the 80s through the 90s you would never find a happy teller. They justifiably hated their job and hated the management. Stranded out in a remote drive in with not even a bathroom and not the option of leaving their teller window. In ten years I had 9 bosses. Hire and fire. The upper management was untrustworthy. A former senior vice president I worked for and her young boyfriend masterminded not only a robbery of and entire branch but terrorized them for hours. The SVP did not ever go to prison but lost her job never worked in a bank again lost her home and moved and hour away. Barnett Bank of Florida had the moniker of keeping Charter Mental hospital open. I had managers fellow employees leaving Barnett and going straight into Charter. Ending up on disability. The CEO Charles E Rice was an alcoholic got drunk fell in his own pool and drown. One SVP could shame Harvey Weinstein. I left Barnett in the early 90s with health problems related to Barnett and I never worked and wont work in another bank

@@Enki1013 They are horrible. I worked there and quit because of how a little old lady was treated. Her crime? She was blue collar. She and her husband , who retired from the Navy, opened their account back in the 50's, never had any issues with her account, she never asked for anything. They just didn't make a lot of money. I was the one that got her call and this lady was so sweet. She was now in her 80's, a widow and needed a card overnighted to her because her brother was dying of cancer and time was of the essence. She needed to book a ticket to fly out to see him in the hospital. She asked me if I would waive the 15.00 fee to overnight/ expedite her card to her. I said absolutely. Well. our calls were monitored so here comes my supervisor from across the room, waving his arms like a maniac and he comes running over to my desk. He said hold, hold put her on hold! He told me no waiving any fees as that is how the bank makes their money. I replied to him, we were told to do it at our discretion? This lady has had her account with this bank since long before any of us in this dept. were even alive. Look at her notes, she has never asked for one thing until today, why can't I do this for her? He said we just can't. I had to get back on the phone and tell this poor woman I was unable to do this after all. She was so nice and did not want me to get into trouble. She did not have any family left to ask for help. My main issue and decision to leave that job was this incident because, we also had Merrill Lynch Wealth Management. There was a guy in town who supported his entire family, they were all on a trust fund. The nephew, who was in his 40's at that time, had someone assigned to his account to watch for when he would overdraw the account. they would then call over to Merrill and have the advisor put in more money, this guy had no idea, he had to do nothing, the account was monitored for him and every single fee (he overdrew his account all the time, had no clue how to manage it but was on a trust so he didn't care) was reversed, no questions asked, no matter how many times. They danced for that family. But yet, that little old lady who never asked for anything but that one time, was denied a lousy 15.00 fee to be waived. I said, you know, maybe if you guys weren't so busy reversing fees for trust fund dude, you can extend the same courtesy to all your customers when they truly need it. He just looked at me and said I know but we can't take this personally, it's business. I said true. I quit. don't take it personally. All they have to do is hit a little button to reverse any fee. and when they say they can't they really mean, sorry, you're too broke for the bank to care about your business. that "we care about our customers" is all bs.
@Enki1013
@Enki1013 Месяц назад
@@kimwarner1681 She had made a followup video about it. It was around the time when it got me coming to RU-vid. She got a ding on her credit report for a late payment but, if I recall correctly, she was able to get a lower rate. Normally banks will do that anyway once they realize they are not getting payments so it probably did not have anything to do with her Debtor's Strike video. She started something at the time before a lot of people already knew this information, though, with a lot of angry credit card customers feeling punished for trying to keep payments current during a global financial crisis. The incentive was to just file for bankruptcy or wait for a debt settlement (which a bank will willingly offer after so many months of missed payments, but you just don't get to use the card anymrore just like in bankruptcy.)

When I was thinking of buying land to build a home in WNC, I had a tough time finding a flat lot back in ~'17. I found one, bought it, then was planning on a modular to be put there.... Then the 'Rona hit. Prices for that same home went way up. We were short on time for the lease, so we ended up looking for a house. Luckily we were able to now work from home due to the same 'rona, and found a home in nearby Tennessee. Closed 4 years ago at 3.25% I feel so blessed things went the way they did, because there's no way we would be in this house now.

Ironically, the credit card companies call people who pay off their balances monthly "deadbeats". ???

Oh, how about getting upcharged on a utility bill and forced to pay or else? How about that 10 year new roof or no insurance enforcement?? You can pay your bills and be a good steward, but still casted out into the wilderness even with a platinum AMEX card.

GOOD LUCK COLLECTIONS! By the way, if you are contacted by collections, there is NOTHING they can do to you! The business writes off the debt and sell it for less to collections......collections tries to recoup the money they spent on this......which is why they say, well, can you pay half of your debt and we'll leave you alone? (They only paid 20% of your debt to get the account.)

People who have been waiting for almost 5 years to buy a house are probably excited to hear about someone else’s who is struggling to pay bills. Lots of jealous people out there.

Maybe instead of being jealous, maybe they should work harder, or get another that pays more.

Even my own family is showing off to other members, turning the YOLO purchases up to stun. Does anybody here know how a family making 300k a year MAX BEFORE TAXES can afford a $2mil house with 2 kids and a third on the way??!

Evictions are worse than foreclosures or bankruptcies for renters. In my area, there are not a lot of rentals available, that gets you tossed right away. I don't know how they can find a place?

In Massachusetts, even if someone is not on the lease, they can establish "tenancy" and the landlord has to go through the eviction process to kick them out. I'm a housing advocate and I would NEVER be a landlord! I saw one case recently that dragged out almost a couple of years. I have people with vouchers being evicted for cause - which boggles my mind. If you have a court case for backrent, you will not be priority for public housing - which means standard list: 5-8. year wait. So --- housing is the first payment you should make, no matter what. Not Door Dash, Hulu, the corner liquor store, McDonald's, everything your kids are demanding, cigarettes, your Sephora make up, etc. etc.
