I like to add 2 more mud slaps after he resets his own stats. I also gave Orthworm sandstorm to use at the beginning of the match - better to get chip damage than 100% accurate hurricane and thunders.
Regarding EV's: Chansey and Blissey offer 2 and 3 HP EV respectively. Have your Orthworm hold a Power Belt to give it 8 Defense + 2/3 HP EV per Chansey/Blissey KO, then swap out the Power Belt for a Power Weight once Defense EV are maxed out. Repeat until HP is maxed out. When HP and Def are max, switch to a Power Band and do one more KO. To get a good amount of Chancey and Blissey to battle, use a Normal Encounter 1 sandwich (#80 Ham Sandwich) right next to the Fairy Base north of Glaceado Mountain. Note that the 'Let's Go' feature does not work for EV training this way: you have to engage in combat. Note that Chansey and Blissey have MASSIVE Special Defense values, but are the weakest among all the pokemon against Physical attacks, so bring a physical attacker to EV train Orthworm. Power Items are the cheaper alternative to the highly expensive medicines. I wish content creators would cover them already....
If you have the DLC, you have easy access to unlimited money and most of the useful resources via the Item Printer. No need at all to do EV training the old fashioned way.
Don’t need to worry about Earthquake. Earth Eater works like Water Absorb but for Ground Attacks. Just need to worry about Hurricane and Thunder while you’re setting up
@@milesstorzillo7650 You’re fine with protect during that moment. Unless Dragonite starts using Thunder, which he’s done to my Corviknight on multiple occasions, then you should be ok.
Hey sir! I actually was able to beat the raid pretty handily with Dondozo: Dondozo @ Shell Bell Ability: Unaware Tera Type: Fighting EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD Impish Nature - Curse - Body Press - Protect Basically the same strategy as Corviknight, just it doesn't have Screech to work with (so you'd Curse once or twice at the beginning), and you would protect for the turn after abilities are nullified. It takes very little damage from Dragonite's physical attacks, so you'd just have to worry about getting hit by Hurricane, Thunder, and Draco Meteor, but that's not too big of an issue once you get going, and heal cheers are always an option. This is also a bit of a quick grab since we just had Mightiest Dondozo a few weeks ago :D
It’s your build but a different attack order Iron Defence x3 Mud Slap x3 When he resets your stats use iron defence x3 again Terastalise then use body press until the win
This strategy doesnt work because in the past 5 raids I'ev been in, Dragonite does nothing but spam earthquake from the start. I can't even get more than 2 iron defenses in without being decimated
Anyone struggling with this raid i just used the Corviknight setup from the last vid without even hypertraining it and not impish and beat it easily on my 2nd attempt. (1st attempt got bad rng, confusion from 1st hurricane and hit myself twice). Great work as always Lee 🙏
I was holding out on getting this raid because I was still working on shiny Gimmighoul, but I just got mine after only ~275 raids! thanks so much for posting all of these builds, they always help to get the job done quickly!
Thanks! This works even without fighting tera. I'm short on the shards so I didn't change the tera type and still able to solo it. It took 11 body press for me, might be more if you got low rolls so you'll need some PP up.
Thank you! I havent been playing much this summer but I adore Dragonite, so it seems like a perfect time to dive back into raids. Thank you for all your hard work and continually keeping up wiith raid builds. You're the best! Hope youre doing well Lee!
I forgot to change tera and had tera steel but that just made the defense better against his moves. Took a couple extra turns but was never in danger of fainting. Great build choice. Plus my Orthworm is shiny. ✨️
I used Fighting Tera Quagsire. Maxed both IVs to Atk and Def, and used moves like Drain Punch, Body Press, Mudslap, and Curse. I think the Orthworm build was faster but I still got the raid done.
For those who didn’t catch on, it’s better to go solo because 98% of the time you try with other players - they’re not going to pick Pokémon who can survive long enough. Still sticking with Azumarill, Iron Hands, Annhilape, and fighting types and completely ignoring the fact that these Terra Pokemon still have their original movesets. So sending out a Charizard against the grass or bug Tera type Golem is NOT going to be a smart move but here we are! In SWSH, it was better to play with players and not the CPU, in SV it’s the other way around with 6-7 stars most of the time. CPU dying won’t eat at your time.
Plus in Sword and Shield most people just go unga bunga mode and spam behemoth blade/bash with their respective box legendary (which is a winning strategy like 99% of the time) Whereas SV raids are much harder to consistently cheese like that.
Thank you for the build. It took me 5 tries before getting it. RNG still plays a big role. One round when Dragonite clear my side of stats. It then proceeds to do earthquake.
Once max def, and before you tera waiting for dragonite to do some scale shots will help. I think because ai is doing calcs on what to use and it seems scale shot does more damage than e.speed thats why it will opt to use it
Thank you so much, mate as this works way better than coordinate way more consistent and very effortless to the point where it just went for me frustrated downright child’s play in a good way.
Couple things, his nature in the video is actually bold, although impish nature would be the better choice (IMO) like it says in the description. Also, in the description it says “0 Attack” but in reality, it should be “0 Sp Attack.” Otherwise great choice and thanks for your content :) (I would also just hypertrain all of the ivs)
To secure a way to make sure your game does not connect to the internet activate airplane mode. I have noticed the game does force connect to the internet without manually connecting. I was going to farm last weeks raids on my next day off but lost it because of this. Airplane mode will now forever be on unless I want to internet connect.
Stellar mimikyu with air balloon is completely immune. As long as hurricane doesn’t hit it first turn, consistent and easy. Tera blast, psych up, drain punch, swords dance. Drain punch x2, psych up once to copy dd, drain punch until reset stats. Terastallize, psych up, then repeat tera blast x2 and swords dance until it’s over
Next up is 7 star mightiest mark Incineroar with dark type tera raid from 00:00 UTC on September 6th through 23:59 UTC on September 8th and again from September 13th through September 15th with Blissey raids.
Hi, thanks, I used the build, while it wasn't an easy win. On attempt #10 I got good RNG. What made it hard for me was... he would do extreme speed 7 out of every ten attacks on me. 2/10 were lightning and the one move I did want to see... scale shot, which lowers his def... only happened about 3 times in my ten attempts. I wonder if he got patched to avoid being easily beat? Either way I got my first ever 7 star raid done and my first ever ability patch. Awesome.
Hi Folks, one slight change to this build that I found works way better is instead of Tera Fighting use Tera Stellar, because this will keep all of Orthworm resistances and still give the double stab boost to Body Press, I found great success with Stellar over Fighting
Dumb Question: The build in the description shows 0 ATK. Any particular reason? I do notice it wasn't mentioned in the video, which said the Orthworm should be fully hypertrained, but just wondering if I'm missing a strategic reason for doing that, or if it was just a typo.
Another move you could potentially add to Orthworm is Coil. You can either learn it through breeding or by giving it a mirror herb and having it have a picnic with a Pokémon that already knows the move (e.g. Serperior). It boosts its attack, defense, and speed all at once and in some cases, it'll allow you to outspeed Dragonite. This aside, good tutorial. I followed it and was able to solo the dragon (after taking a few tries to get it right).
I've tried doing online battles with players who brought their Orthworm, but they always get knocked out during the same turn that Dragonite Negates abilities, and then they aren't able to stay alive after that. Perhaps they weren't using this moveset, but, I haven't seen an Orthworm on a winning team yet, outside this video.
I did follow the majority of the stats, I actually forgot to change the terra type and Body Press still got me the win. I had to use 8/10 body presses tho
Not so much tera raids related. But those Beldums just don't like going into balls and shinys are damn hard to show up. Even with sandwiches. Or my Beldum luck is bad. Lol. The others I usually find straight away when I turn up at an outbreak.
Tried it the first time got knocked out on second iron defense. Tried second time with slightly better results then got one shot with draco meteor while terastalized close to the end and failed the raid. I give up.
Won with Stellar Annihilape due to taunt micromanagement for every turn it's not applied but it's very useful and hope to Arceus you're not a Hurricane target. It'll slowly shred through the shields even after max setup, but wraps up when the shield is gone. Tera Stellar Annihilape @ Metronome Max EVs in Atk & Def, the rest go to SpD Moves:Taunt,Focus Energy,Bulk Up,Drain Punch
Unfortunately, this build just doesn´t work for me. I don't understand why, but in 6 out of 6 tries I get critical/paralysed with thunder, or critical with extreme speed. And since the build has no means to take out dragon dance is always a Oko
When your stats get reset in a raid it also turns off your ability for a turn. If it's happening any other time make sure you don't have the hidden ability instead of earth eater
Fyi the mints will change your pokemon's nature, ,it just won't show the nature change, only the og. So, the bold here is just for cosmetic. It's dumb the way Game Freak did it.
@@milktea543To be more precise, going over to the screen that tells you the nature will still show the original, but the arrows to show what stat goes up and down will reflect the new nature.
