At $45-$50 I'll buy enough of those David and Lucy figures to keep the line alive myself. shf or revoltech won't do it but Juhn will provide the goods! That David looks INCREDIBLE. I can't wait to get Lucy in hand and start messing around with the nano wires, super hyped.
$30 Lucy w/ intent of great accessories; $45 David w/ immaculate detail and probably just as great on accessories. That's a straight up steal! I honestly thought this would be the release that makes them break $60. Great figures for cheap is awesome! I hope the supports brings them to make Rebecca, or perhaps even Atom Smasher LOL. Our closest rep is Romankey w/ "Jessica" for like $120, but their style isn't 1:1 (I still bought it though LMAO). I just know SHF would fumble the accessories if they made her, and while I trust Kaiyodo, they may not even pick up the line. I'm puttin' all my chips on Jada! ✊️😤
Thank you for sharing this update, Chamba and Cheynee! Shoutout to Juhn and the Jada Toys Team for all their hard work on these releases. I'm looking forward to what they have for us at SDCC. I agree on what Chamba was saying about the time and effort that Juhn puts in on these figures. Juhn doesn't just look at something and thinks "eh it's close enough" or "that's fine." He'll actually go back and try to fix something again and make it just as accurate as possible to where he thinks it's nearly perfect to the source material. A good example is using a different torso for Guile instead of using Dee Jay. Or going through some hiccups with the size and design of the Blanka figure but is still trying to make him posable as possible. It shows that he truly loves what he does and that's one of the biggest reasons why I love his stuff. I know Capcom or any other license company also gets the final say on something that they don't want which is understandable. But I still appreciate on Juhn always trying his best with these figures!
A big thankyou to Juhn and the team at Jada. I'm delighted with the Street Fighter figs they've made so far. I also like that they evened out the costs between say a simple figure like Fei Long and a more complicated one like Chun Li. I can't wait for the later Street Fighter releases. They make Hasbro look like amateurs at the moment. Jada have better sculpt, proportions, accessories and prices. Those Cyberpunk figures look amazing. A great video fellas. Thank you all.👍
The Edgerunners update is killer! Am down for the announced two and any other ones Jada can produce in future. The tentative price point(s) seem to be in a sweet spot for me. That body for David looks like excellent custom fodder….thanks for the interview folks!
Thanks Juhn, Cheynee and Chamba for doing this! Awesome to see the latest samples of the next Street Fighter wave, cant wait to have them in hand. And can't wait to see the new reveals at SDCC!
I remember after messing with fei long, I came to the realization that this is not just some basic retail company. The way these figures feel, the attention to detail and articulation is borderline import feeling. On top of that everything they continue to show has looked better than the last. I’m all in on street fighter but look at that David and Lucy, my god. They look like on a different level than that first street fighter wave. Lucy might as well be made by snail shell. This company continues to push forward and like I said they’re tip toeing with what a retail and import figure means. Which is why those prices didn’t surprise me, as everything I’m seeing is damn near import level and when I’m spending $70+ on a mafex figure 30 and 45 is a god damn steal. I’m absolutely excited and can’t wait for the future of this company as all this is so damn new and it’s really wild seeing what they’ve done and plan to do. Just imagine what they could possibly do in the future. I can’t wait to see what else we have in store from Jada in the future. Thank you boys and thank you Juhn for the update, this was a killer video.
The problem is the factories prey on smaller companies by giving them shitty work until they run out of funds. The bigger companies know when to cut their loses and just take the figures as is. Also 15 unique figures us gonna take a shit ton of tooling which costs a fuckton of money. The Shotos can be reused as can the Cammy buck for Calender Dolls, Guile can be retooled into Charlie, If they got the EX Layer license that could open up more retools. Duran for Zangief, Pullum and Area for Cammy, Blair and Sharon for Chun-LI and so on.
So glad to hear about Mega Man! MM2 has my favorite robot masters so I'm excitedly waiting for Flash Man, Quick Man and Crash Man. And it wouldn't be complete without getting X, Proto Man, and Rush
I have bought all the storm figs, spending the time, effort and money on specific molds for making each figure unique will pay off in customer satisfaction and brand loyalty. Take my damn money!!!!
Toybiz only used to put out like 1 or 2 waves a year which was actually so much better for people's wallets so although I want the street fighter figures now my bank accounts quite happy that they're not a constant rollout.
I hope jada goes crazy with the cammy alternate outfit colors, because I would buy a pink ,purple , blue white ,and red camny figure and i hope jada can get the street fighter figures to be available at GameStop that feels like a no brainer and is a perfect place to carry them as well as every where else
Toy Migos and those Edgerunner prototypes from Jada enabled me to watch the show, which in turn enabled to buy the figs when they drop. This video only made the need for these figs even worse lol
Always love hearing from Juhn. He's doing some of the best figures on the market. Those Edgerunners figures look great, and of course, SF wave 3 looks phenomenal.
I can only speak for myself but my only complaint I have with the SF line is the gap between when they start showing up in Targets on the west coast and when they start showing up in the north east, which is mostly a Target issue. Only thing I think Jada could do would be to get these to the online retailers faster because it seems they lag behind Target retail by 3 or more months. Also that Guile looks sick and I know it's not final but I hope they update his knees in the final release as the upper+lower knee joint/thigh/calf cuts seem to be a brighter green due to the color of the plastic and it really stands out when his knees are bent.
Love Juhn and love that we are blessed with him as the PM for the SF2 line. Willing to spend the company's money to make the most perfect figures haha.
Excellent interview. I’m very exciting for the Cyberpunk figures, I hope they do well enough so Becca is done. I’m happy the Cast of SF is nearly done. Hopefully they move onto SF 3. I would really love to see them do a general Capcom line for series that might not be able to support a toyline on their own. I would really love it if they eventually did figures from devil may cry.
Such a great great interview, it’s refreshing to hear the breakdown and explanation of one of the hottest lines in the game AND other properties to come
Omg how did you not ask about the license they don’t have, MK? Like that’s a missed opportunity not asking when something, they have no license for will be made. Like how cool would it have been to announce something that big on a reg update video, sheesh it’s like their waiting for SDCC or something.
My question was answered in the course of conversation so I'm glad you didn't read it. And I'm so excited to get more Street Fighter figures in hand that I went ahead and ordered the Paul Mart Ryu while watching the show, which I had no intention of getting previously.
Those Cyberpunk figures are easily my most anticipated figures of this year. Still waiting on my wave one and two street fighter pre orders to come in but have wave three and four pre ordered too. I just hope we get another run at the Megaman line in the UK, wave one was very limited to just a few online stores and i missed out. Jada look to be killing it.
I was never into clothes on figs, the cloth is often too thin and baggy to allow articulation but doesn't fit realistically. These have great wrinkles and movement making them fit very realistic and still show off the sculpts and movement. Outstanding. Hope you do more lines with this type of softgood.
So I'm loving the Jada Street Fighters, however.....they need to work on the paint apps on the soft plastics. With very little posing, the black is rubbing off my standard Ryu's belt, and on my Dark Ryu the Japanese characters on his belt also rubbed right off with very little pressure.
55:38 wow that Guile really looks like the one from SC but scaled down to true 1/12, 6in figure. SCs are expensive and and huge, scaling 1/10 in actual measurements. I hope Jada succeeds with this line, there’s a lot of opportunities in SF and other fighting game genres.
Thanks Juhn, I love hearing about this process! Any chance of getting SF releases online around the same time as Target, whether through JNL, bbts/ee, etc?
I'm mostly picking favorites for MM and all-in on SF2 but I'm super hyped for Edgerunners. I hope it does well because I need way more (ie all) characters in the line. I'd also like to float the idea of a younger version of David before all the upgrades (after the rest of the cast gets done of course).
I’d love if Jada would get the BEN 10 License. The love and care he’s putting into the Street Fighter line has me wishing he could give us a wonderful Ben 10 line.
I was having doubts on guile from the prototypes but man he looks awesome. Definitely looks how I wanted him to. Others look great too. Cyberpunk figs with the cloth goods look badass. Great work
WAIT WAIT WAIT... Did I hear soft good scarf??? Please be Protoman Please be Protoman Please be ProtomanPlease be ProtomanPlease be ProtomanPlease be ProtomanPlease be ProtomanPlease be ProtomanPlease be ProtomanPlease be ProtomanPlease be ProtomanPlease be Protoman
I really loved the Universal Monsters line but understand the licensing and prioritizing Street Fighter. If it ever comes back and you can add the Mummy and any other good stuff… cool, but I won’t hold my breath given the answers. Cool to hear all the other updates and looking forward to completing game casts!
I admit I did want you to get a release quarter for the player 2 deluxe pink Chun Li or Juhn giving an opinion on the 4" Final Fight figures that maybe Jada could do a more in scale articulated possibility
After the full SF2 roster I desperately want Final Fight figures! Poison Cody Guy Maki Rolento Sodom Hugo Lucia Abigail All in their classic Final Fight outfits! I know they aren't in a Street Fighter game, but a three pack of Haggar, Jessica, and Belger would be a dream come true.
Speaking to Chamba's statement about collectors wanting to play with these figures; I think that seeing Juhn play with these figures only further emphasizes that impulse to get them. The joy that he has from posing and messing around with the figures only adds to my anticipation for having these.
The price on edge runners to me is a great deal. I mean it is a steal. I was expecting 75 to 80. more articulated then Streetfighter, with soft goods and other stuff...(some having a bendy wire. I'm sorry Jada is the amazing toy gods. On top of having the best customer service I've ever experienced. #0 and 45 are great prices. I really only want Lucy and Bekka right now (I know they have not made Bekka yet. But when they do, I will want her.
Seeing the completed line by next year is an awesome goal! New characters I hope we see at SDCC: Zangief, E. Honda, Balrog, T-Hawk, and Akuma. Eventually the black and gold suit Chun-Li. Let's not forget that Juhn also mention at LA Comic Con that they will reveal new properties. Maybe Tekken?
street fighter figures are great but there is room for improvement when it comes to the head sculps. also hopefully they would sell alternate head packs for these sf figures.
Regarding the price of the Cyberpunk, 45USD seems reasonable, especially if you're in the US. For the SEA collectors like myself, it kinda depends. Like, the SF are reasonably priced here. They're about Marvel Legends price but unlike Marvel Legends which have been giving less at higher prices, the SF figures are pretty generous. Assuming we'd get him for the same ratio of USD to local bucks as SF, I think he would be quite reasonably priced for a cloth figure, but I'd be on the fence a bit about getting him on account of not being that familiar with Cyberpunk Edgerunners. If he's a bit cheaper than what I'm guesstimating, I'd probably grab him just for the novelty.
