This build is *chef's kiss*.
This is my solo bow sorcerer for the Elder Scrolls Online and it is better than ever before in Update 39. It absolutely crushes Veteran Vateshran Hollows with probably up to a 305k or 306k score if I was on a khajiit character. Internet situation all depends on me getting a job, or a crap load of photo shoots and weddings for Shelby to shoot lol. Employment has been unfortunately difficult to find

Thanks for the update of this super-fun build! Definitely one of my favorite builds and characters too! Recently returned to the game and getting back into playing this character. Great job on the video! I'm struggling with the final boss of Vateshran; not so much DPS but survival. But that's no reflection on the build, just a skill issue on my end! World bosses are a cinch and I'm going to attempt to solo the recent DLC dungeons on normal to get the rest of the story for Necrom.

The last boss in vateshran on this build is no joke! If you dont kite perfectly and use crystal frags to top up your health when the big guys come in, youll get got really quick. You also have to save your potion for when you need a burst heal because its the only one youve got. If youre just trying to clear though, while youre getting the hang out it you can swap out poison injection for the clannfear pet on the last fight! It gives you a huge burst heal and a pet that tanks hits for you. Its a massive survivability increase and honestly its not much of a dps loss at all

@CreativeExcusesGaming Great advice! Biggest issue I have are the ads, specifically the Void Collosi and Flameshapers or w/e they're called. I'm just trying to get a clear. This is the first veteran arena I've attempted, though I've farmed it on normal. The difference is insane! Thanks for the advice!!!

@treadwyck if youre just getting your first clears, swap out the five piece set for hexos ward and you will cruise through! It adds soo much survivability

Twice-Fanged Serpent is actually a popular set for vateshran builds. If you cause off-balance at all Stuhn's is an option with the set giving you a total of 6799 penetration. Shattered Fate 5piece technically gives the most Penetration at almost 8k but doesn't have any other.

Honestly forgot about Stuhns, but it wouldnt work for this one bar setup. Shattered fate is an interesting idea, but it is less stat dense than Twice-Fanged. If i swapped to shattered fate though, its possible I could drop focused aim for lethal arrow. That could be more damage. Might be worth trying! Id worry a little about the crit damage loss, and the sustain loss but I think Ill try it

Sorcs have always been single target monsters but struggle with aoe if they don't swap to aoe specific gear or builds. The new endless archive set for sorcs looks interesting, it all depends on how "Initial hit" translates to game, if it means the first time a dot ticks from hurricane/boundless it might not be hard to get those three monoliths up, and it might give an excuse to slot lightning splash. Also if the monolith's are considered as "pets" it might be effected by daedric prey, like the Molk set or the maw monster set

I just made this character and even at level 10 with training gear and less than half the required skills it's still performing very well. Fun, too; can't wait to sink my teeth into it. Do you think it would be worthwhile to swap out Twice-Fanged Serpent for Shattered Fate?

do Twice-Fanged Serpent and Sheer Venom combo, both of this would be then OP or Spriggan's Thorns and Sheer Venom combo, Spriggan's Thorns for penetration and wep and spell dam or maybe to solve the problem u should focus on DOT? DOT and burst support maybe this solves ur aoe and singe target issue, helps u focus on single target but also melts trash? its just an idea u could try, this probably involves seer venom and thaumaturge cp

Absolutely love this build, smashed through the first 6 rounds of maelstrom before I had to stop....but I've just been crunching some numbers. Admittedly I used spriggans as I haven't got twice fanged yet. You use thief mundus which is 2167 crit using 7 divines - order's wrath gives 2257 therefore a near enough straight swap. Twice fanged gives 5440 pen when fully stacked - lover gives 4489 with all divines. Would swapping these sets around be a better setup? With the additional 8% crit damage? You lose 1000 pen for additional 8% crit damage and effectively flat crit chance. Sorry for the slight ramble

Interesting idea! That could be worth it… but I would also lose wp/sp damage, stamina, and the line of crit from twice fanged, so it would probably be a wash at best, and a loss at worst

@CreativeExcusesGaming I will test when I can and get back to you. Weapon damage would be the same as orders has a line of weapon damage too. To get the pen back, could also go with 1 light monster piece, which would also bring the stam back through undaunted passive

So....tested it with orders, all purple (even weapon, will be golding soon) sat on about 44% crit, 15k passive pen with major and minor breach, so only need 4 status effects for the force of nature to hit cap. Will be race changing to khajiit next time I'm on to play which will give 100% crit damage, it absolutely wrecked the final 3 rounds of maelstrom.

4:35 but can i then use nightmothers gaze instead? cause i don't think i want to go to a trial for this unless its 1of the easier lighter trials cause sins the DPS requirement set by players is insane i cant get half of it, either cause of my own speed or resource running out, maintaining my resource is huge hit, ok for solo play, i will be kicked if they see my DPS

It is from one of the easier trials and can be farmed on normal with a fairly casual guild! Night mother’s gaze does not work here because we already have major breach from caltrops and it is way more efficient to get it from caltrops than your one five piece set. If you dont want to use the trial set, there will be another update to this build very soon! Use unfathomable darkness + a sharpened bow. Or even better: threads of war + a sharpened bow.

@@ShadowWizard Plaguebreak was changed three or four patches ago. It does not work in pve anymore. It is pvp only.

Glad you like it! The update is small, but it made a nice difference! I didnt show this in the vid, but the build parses 44-45k on a 3m dummy now which is amazing. With a khajiit, that may be closer to 46-47k i think!

Ive used gear variants of the build to do everything from score push in vet vateshran to solo vet falkreath hold to arc 4 (and beyond but i am lazy) of the Archive to solo harrowstorms and bastion nymics! Instead of Twice Fanged Serpent? Spriggan’s Thorns isnt quite as strong but would perform pretty well. Unfathomable Darkness performs really well. Or really any of the past sets Ive recommended on previous versions of this build.

Technically yes, but only by 2500 which would also put me over the penetration cap if I am remembering correctly. That would free up my jewelry slots for a 2 pc of crit or weapon and spell damage instead of penetration, but I believe twice-fanged serpent is just a generally more stat dense set than Shattered Fate. Shattered would probably be a good replacement option if you arent running Twice Fanged, but I have also found since this video I can just run my old Unfathomable Darkness setup with a sharpened weapon and tie the twice-fanged setup. Basically, you want a sharpened weapon with a set with one penetration line, or a charged/precise weapon with twice fanged (or maybe shattered fate). There are lots of options. I wouldn't be surprise if shattered fate or twice fanged paired really well with an infused weapon in the current patch and in u42.

Hey, im a returning player after 5+ years. Going to try for this build, seems very fun and engaging, is there a base game set to help me farm for the gear for this build? I have a bunch of random peices and im not sure if thats gunna cut it when trying for sets

Spriggan’s Thorns, Stormfist, Agility, and a 1pc trainee should work out alright! Once you can do normal vateshran, use a normal vateshran bow and 2 pc pestilent host until you can get the perfected bow!

@@Chuckles417 Unsure, but its fixed in the written guide now. There is only one weapon passive in the entire game that there is a reason not to take and it is in the destruction staff skill line if you don't like blocking with magicka. Otherwise, take every single weapon passive for the weapons you are using, always (except for a few snb passives that dont really matter unless you are a actually a tank). Also I don't actually talk about passives in the videos unless they are relevant to a particular problem I am talking about. The build videos go over problems and solutions. The exact details of the build are only in the written guides.

Id put it on a templar instead. I have a video about that too! Its a one bar vateshran bow templar that is very fun to play in battlegrounds (i dont do any cryo pvp so no comment on its performance there). But if you really want it on a sorc, the combo would be 3 gcds long: endless fury, vateshran bow snipe, streak. If that doesnt kill, follow up with another snipe into an endless fury. For heals Id put on resolving vigor and something else for survivability, maybe dark conversion to make sure you can turn stamina into magicka and health so you can streak and endless fury often enough. My preferred sets would be: pirate skeleton or the daedroth from bc2, vateshran bow, 5pc steadfast’s mettle + a food (not drink) buff.

Unfathomable darkness is great, Spriggan’s thorns would work, Pestilent host can work depending on what youre doing. Even Tzogvin would probably be decent even missing out on the minor force because pen is so good.

Tarnished just isnt that much damage for PvE content. The AoE isnt quite enough. The real set to use this new patch is Macabre Vintage! Im going to try running with it soon, I just have to finish farming it out.

Still works just like in the video! Next patch we may be updating the main five piece set depending on the outcome of the buffs and nerfs of the Threads of War set however. That set looks incredibly competitive for single target damage after today’s pts patch note changes.
