Hey , does cleaning it with water + soap effects the velcro part.. does it stick properly after it dries out?
@TheTCTech
@TheTCTech Год назад
Hi there! Thanks for your question, it doesn’t affect the ability to hook at all. I’ve had a sport loop since 2019 and I haven’t had any issues with the Velcro not sticking even after all these years of washing it, so it shouldn’t be an issue!

Would love to know how to clean the new Modern Buckle bands. I have the tan one with a water stain. 🙁

Hey there, thanks for your comment! I believe the new modern buckle bands are the fine woven material correct? From what I’ve seen online for a while now, unfortunately the fine woven material seems to be the least resistant material Apple has used on any of their accessories. :( I would be hesitant using anything like water or soap directly or anything hard that might scratch or damage the micro-twill. Here is what apple’s website states on how to clean fine woven material: “To clean your FineWoven iPhone case or reduce the appearance of scratches, first remove your iPhone from the case. In a clean container, mix 1 tsp. (5 mL) of liquid laundry detergent into 1 cup (250 mL) of water. Dip a lint-free cloth into the soapy water solution, wring it out slightly, and rub the cloth on the case surfaces gently for 1 minute. Wipe the case clean with a separate cloth that's slightly dampened with fresh water. Dry the case with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth, making sure to remove any excess moisture. The material may look different and show wear over time as the fibers get compressed with normal use. Some scratches may diminish over time.” Hope this helps you out if you decide to try it!

@@TheTCTech It's a really soft material kind of like suede, although I think they say it's a compressed recycled polyester? I used a small amount of rubbing alcohol on a cotton pad and that got it clean. It's definitely not a band for everyday since one time washing your hands could stain it. :( Thanks for your answer! 🙂

@@llwxn124 I’m glad to hear your method worked at least, definitely consider some other bands though if you’re going to wear your watch in any wet or dusty environments. I would say check out tjMaxx or Marshall’s if you have any nearby, you can usually find genuine Apple Watch bands there for like $17 :)

you mentioned dish soap but do you think liquid hand soap/handwash would work as well? it's just all i have right now lol
@TheTCTech
@TheTCTech 5 месяцев назад
Thanks for the question! Yeah, that should be okay, especially if you’re in a rush and just want to clean it/make it smell fresh. I mostly just use dawn since it is pretty good with any stains and such. You should be good though!

do you mean fabric softener clogs the washer or the fabrics?
@TheTCTech
@TheTCTech 9 месяцев назад
Thanks for your question. Fabric softener can clog the fabrics, it gets stuck into the fibers making it harder to wash out. Hope this helps!

Can I just wash it just using water or do I have to use soap, Also can I use Tissue so I can leave the band sitting there or do I have to bring it outside just for the wind to dry it (How long does it take to dry)??
@TheTCTech
@TheTCTech Год назад
Hello! I would recommend still using soap as this is what actually cleans the band, rinsing it might get some of the dirt off, but using soap helps give it a much better clean. And yeah, you can use tissue to absorb the excess moisture! You don’t need to let it dry outside either, I usually just let my bands dry inside, it takes about 30 minutes usually. If you want to dry them quicker, you can also use a hairdryer like I did in the video. Just make sure not to place it too close to the bands and don’t focus on one spot for too long to prevent it from melting any of the fibers on the bands. Hope this helps! :)

I have pride sport loop with the white velcro and it’s become pretty… discolored over time… will washing it with detergent help that? is there any way to return it closer to the original white color it was?
@TheTCTech
@TheTCTech Год назад
Hi there! Thanks for your question. Honestly, it’s a bit hit or miss with the white sport loops. They will discolor overtime, some people suggest using dawn dish soap since it helps remove the oils from sweating, but I’ve tried that on a band my mom had and I did not work unfortunately :c there is also some people who have suggested detergent with Oxiclean, I’ve had the best results with this, but I haven’t been able to restore it to the original white. Do be careful as it can also possibly strip any other colors, especially since you mentioned it’s the pride band. My fully rainbow pride band I have in the video is from 2019 and I haven’t had any issues using the detergent with oxiclean whenever I wash it, but it could differ from band to band, so just be cautious! I hope this helps some!

@@TheTCTech I dont know what year my pride sport loop is from but its the one that says "pride" in cursive which i think is the 2022 version? not entirely sure. but its discolored/grey and has some staining from like, sweat and stuff and i really dont wanna have to buy a whole new band. but i think i may have to, with the nature of how difficult cloth/fabric bands are to clean properly. I can't do metal bands due to allergies sadly so my options for band material are limited thanks for the advice though!
@TheTCTech
@TheTCTech Год назад
@@arcturus0389 ah yeah, that would be the 2022 version! I don’t blame you, these bands are pricy. Hopefully you’re able to get it out with any of the methods. The darker bands tend to keep their colors longer I’ve noticed. I would also suggest checking out TJMaxx or Marshall’s as they often have genuine Apple Watch bands on sale for like 16.99-14.99. I recently got the 2021 Nike pride band there for $14.99 last week for example, so they might have the 2022 ones sometime in the future too!
