Thanks so much brother, I have been mining on windows since February & I think it’s time for me to switch to HiveOS. This will make everything much easier for me. Once again, great easy to understand video.
I migrated the files i got from this method to my SSD and teamred and miniz wouldn't mine.... I recommend using Etcher for flashing purposes.... Love the vids brandon keep up the good work!
I assume the steps will be the same to flash onto an SSD? Good stuff, dude. Funny cause just last night i was watching your original video from seven months ago about flashing hiveos onto a USB. Lol
I highly recommend using the mini SD cards in a USB adapter. You get the speed and reliability of the SD and the cheap price and ease of use that USB offers. They boot really fast and last forever.

You can actually use HiveOS itself to migrate sistem from USB to SSD... It"s much more reliable than any USB... There are tutorials on hive homepage and youtube - how to do it without any adapters...
@@AldaryLV Yes you can DD from the USB to a HD/SSD/NVME. Say that it is more reliable though is simply not true, we are just talking about coping an image to a storage device. If you just have one rig going the USB/DD route would probably be how I would do it, however when dealing with multiple rigs, putting the image straight on the SSD/NVME saves time, and in my opinion is well worth the one time $25 cost.
@@nathonsweetman4409 i bought ADATA 120 gig ssd's each for 20€, and they are lasting now close to 1 year ... Meanwhile i lost 3 usb flash drives... All that happened while i was away for few days ofc... So i also lost potential profit...not worth in my ayes common usb stick isnt meant for that type of use...
@@AldaryLV I think you are misunderstanding what I am saying. I am not advocating using USB to run the rig, but simply as the interconnect to get the image on the storage medium of your choice. Personally I use M.2/NVME because I can get a 120GB for about $25 and don't have to run SATA power cables.
Honestly needs an update video of this procedure as Hive has changed a little bit. That being said, this is the best video I could find on this procedure. This is my first rig and I am almost up and running. Thanks!!!
For boot usb devices I always use USB 2.0 devices, they run a bit slower but a lot cooler. Running cooler means they last a lot longer. I’ve had some SanDisk Cruzer fiit types for years. The new SanDisk Ultra Fit devices work well too
Thanx for this.. oh.. and a GUI is better than a Pooie..! I'm setting up a couple of 1080Ti's on a B450. Other rigs incluse this B550, ryzen 9 5950x with a 3060 and a newer type of HP laptop with it's 1660.
J'ai une question: J'ai suivi toutes les instructions pour installer sur clé USB. Jusque la pas de problèmes. Après c'est la que j'ai un peu de misère. Je met la clé dans mon Rig mais il se passe rien. Dois-je brancher mon Rig directement sur mon Rooter ou dans mon ordi? Besoin d'aide stp
im trying to do this and I used my Mac instead of PC. and im stuck on the last step where I edit the rig.conf with my farm hash and it says read only and won't let me save. Any ideas? or just try it on new usb on my windows device?

does anyone know how to get wifi connectivity when doing as in the video? Ethernet is out of the picture, as the wifi signal is excellent but the router is one floor under and like 10 meters away

Just got a suggested video, gave me an idea after watching SoaT review the hashrates of the new intel cpu.. Kind of a waste of cash, but would be fun for science.. I would do it if I could.. Mini PCs... The little box kinds and even the little stick kinds.. what they be hashin' homie?
