Imagine if Kevin Hart had said he'd break a doll house over his son's back if he were gay -- but instead of being a joke he tweeted 12 years ago, he said it as testimony before congress on Wednesday, lol. He can't host the Oscars cause of that, but these women get to run America's most important universities.

If profs can have tenure, why not their bosses, too. Or, are the teacher unions really their bosses. What protective union does a college president have? If none, why so cockie? Because with their advanced intellect, they can easily talk their way out of anything. Didn't work this time for them. Perhaps their views of themselves way exceeds reality. Tough life lesson learned in front of a camera. Might turn them into better human beings. But, I somehow doubt it. They likely learned nothing from the experience. So much for the ability to learn at institutions of higher learning.

They were ALL thinking about their fellow administrators, professors, & students who would be mad as Hell at them if they put an end to their hateful public protesting rhetoric. To have answered those questions as they should have been answered would have meant a shower of campus protests all of a sudden aimed against THEM.

I am a Zionist, however, I will always be one, that's just my view personally. That aside, what really irritates me is that when October 7th happened, all of these colleges broke out with protesters in support of Palestine. I think so many of these younger adults are extremely uneducated regarding this entire conflict. I support the Palestinian People having rights and being treated like human beings, I do not support Hamas, which are terrorists. Many of these younger kids do not understand the difference, so right away they are protesting against Israel. What happened on the 7th to the Israelis was similar to what happened to us here in the states on September 11th and people do not understand that. Israel had every right to defend themselves and I will always stand with them. I'm tired of the hate speech against Jews and I will not tolerate it. Whenever I hear it anywhere, I always defend Israel. I don't spew hate speech against Islam, although I do not agree with that religion, but I think people should stop and think before they run right out and get on the protest wagon. Some people just want to be a part of something and have no idea what they're protesting, especially the ones with the big mouths. 💙🇮🇱

Let's keep in mind what each of these Ivy League university (and MIT) presidents is trying to accomplish. All of the schools have a history of BDS -- Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions -- actions against Israel. They all have very left-liberal-progressive faculties that include more than a few Muslim/Arab/Palestinian professors who are often vocally anti-Israel, and some are even vocally pro-Hamas and pro-Hezbollah. Following their examples, these student bodies also include radicalized Muslim/Arab/Palestinian students who believe that it is perfectly acceptable to harass American Jewish students and say they most hateful things about Jews, all the while claiming that they are the ones being oppressed. These university presidents are trying to protect these professors and students from what should be the obvious consequences of their actions, and this has gone too far for too long. Each of these presidents should be removed by the schools' governing boards, but I seriously doubt their trustees have the moral fortitude to do it. It will probably take a new Republican administration, DOJ investigations, and Department of Education sanctions to get them to act.

She is trying to express how they would separate free speech from something that is not. So for example, a group of students gathered around chanting about Jews would be accepted on the basis of free speech. It is offensive only. But if those same students took it further and went after a specific individual Jewish classmate - they mention conduct, they mean more than just words - then it crosses their red line. I guess they are referring to actual assaults or maybe vandalizing a student's room with anti Jew graffiti. Obviously, not something that can be explained with a simple yes or no. But they did a poor job of describing the intent of the policy nonetheless.

@@DemPilafian I'm talking about the interaction between the congresswoman and the witnesses. It's clear that none of the witnesses think that's ok and they testified to that. Where context comes in is that it's clear the congresswoman is trying to lead the witness into seeming like they support genocide for soundclips and the witnesses aren't falling for it because it's transparent and disingenuous. There's clearly a lot of protesting going on about the situation and students have a right to express their opinions up to a point. And where that point is depends on context. The congresswoman is trying to frame the situation as any support for Palestinians being equivalent to a call for Jewish genocide and that's obviously not the case. There's many Jewish people and even Israelis who don't agree with the policies surrounding the Palestinians. And Hamas is not the Palestinian population. There's also plenty of people calling for Palestinian genocide. It's clear the congresswoman doesn't actually care about the situation on campuses and is just soapboxing for the optics.
