Upgrade RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8 to RHEL9
Commands 👇👇👇
subscription-manager list --installed
subscription-manager repos --enable rhel-8-for-x86_64-baseos-rpms --enable rhel-8-for-x86_64-appstream-rpms
subscription-manager release --set 8.6
dnf update
dnf install leapp-upgrade -y
dnf versionlock clear
leapp preupgrade --target 9.0
leapp upgrade --target 9.0

GREAT post! Thanks. It worked like a charm for me, going from 8.8 to 9.2. Just had to change the leapp parameters.

I am getting this error Upgrade has been inhibited due to the following problems: 1. Inhibitor: Upgrade requires links in root directory to be relative Consult the pre-upgrade report for details and possible remediation.

Error passed after executing - ln -snf var/lib/snapd/snap /snap - error due to snap installed

If we already upgrade from 7 to 8 using leapp utility after that planning to upgrade 8 to 9 but got error like leapp package el7to8 conflict due to this unable to install leapp-preupgrade.

If you previously performed an in-place upgrade from RHEL 7 to RHEL 8, remove the /root/tmp_leapp_py3 directory if it is present on your system: # rm -rf /root/tmp_leapp_py3 You find more information at access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_enterprise_linux/9/html/upgrading_from_rhel_8_to_rhel_9/assembly_preparing-for-the-upgrade_upgrading-from-rhel-8-to-rhel-9
