Now we have to download the Kernel Part I (database independent) and Kernel Part II (database specific) for our system (based on the previous check);
Use Filezilla or WinSCP, and upload the files to /sapmnt/SID/exe/uc/linuxx86_64, extract the files here.
In this example, and to reduce the downtime, I am going to copy the folder exe to a new exe.new, and then uncar the Kernel Parts in the new folder.
The command for copy and arguments are cp -ar exe exe.new.
Check if you have enough space to perform this action.
Downtime Phase
stopsap
mv exe exe.old
mv exe.new exe
startsap
Check if everything is working correctly, i can of any issue apply the Rollback plan.
Rollback plan (apply the older kernel)
stopsap
mv exe exe.new
mv exe.old exe
startsap
