IMPORTANT: *Do Not Install Lanterns of Skyrim II* After re-writing the script for this episode, I had missed a compatibility issue between Lanterns of Skyrim II and ELFX Exteriors. LoS2 should have been removed from Stage 1. These are NOT compatible and whilst it fortunately is not game breaking and I have tested multiple scenarios to confirm, it can cause minor errors which, considering this is all about immersion, is probably best removed from the list! Please ignore any references to Lanterns of Skyrim II and everything else can be carried out as usual. I have blurred the section where I mention it but it can take a few hours to process. If you have installed it already, exit the game, launch MO2, find the mod in your mod list, right click and select 'Remove Mod' and confirm, then, visit the Plugins Tab and click on Sort. An oversight on my part and I apologize! A big thanks to Denz for bringing this to my attention. I would have missed it otherwise.
I've decided today to try out modding Skyrim for the first time on my brand new PC rig and after watching every part of your tutorial series, I am gobsmacked that this isn't on the front page of nexus! Such a fantastic tutorial, so thorough but also simple to follow along and with really helpful modding tips.
It's been said time and again, but deservingly so; this is an amazing series and I'm glad I stumbled upon this as I was trying to learn to mod my Skyrim!
This series is coming out at the EXACT right moment for me. Just bought a new computer and looking to build a mod setup from scratch, but way too picky to use someone else's modlist. Thank you so much for your diligent, easy-to-follow guides! You're saving me from endless modding headaches
Appreciate your videos! Because of your precise walkthroughs I've been able to re-mod skyrim within weeks. I have even uninstalled everything from scratch after I had messed up a previous build a few days prior due to messing up a previous build but I can easily do everything again after following your setup. I'd appreciate a "how to make your character look amazing mod list/order" for a video since I cannot find a comprehensible guide to follow to do so. I still struggle with downloading mods and other assets needing High Poly Head.
@@Bulletproof_Trump Yes, @kvancberkdanac77442 said "first uninstall the New Beginnings extension, then when installing it again go to manual, right click on the data with the blue tick and select “set as directory” it should fix it"
By far the most well-explained series for modding. I am using vortex and most of the steps are so similar that even with my lack of knowledge and expertise I'm finally able to level-up my modding experience. Pleasure to watch and all it requires is steady videos such as you do. Keep up the good work mate
I just want to say a massive thank you for your incredibly kind words. They truly mean the world to me and I appreciate you. I’ll keep them going for sure :-)
I think there is problem about 'New Beginnings - Live Another Life Extension SSE' that mod. Cause it says problem when I press to manual it says this mod not valid.
First uninstall the New Beginnings extension, then when installing it again go to manual, right click on the data with the blue tick and select “set as directory” it should fix it
So I commented on the first video I think? Same praise as before with an added Thank %&#* you made this series. Seriously amazing, we need you to do more with this same build after, maybe even videos that give multiple alternate progression suggestions in one video as a comparison? i really think these videos is going to open up skyrim modding even more then in the past for people, kudos!
Always thankful to you for your support! Means the world to me! The different paths is something I have been considering but at the moment would be simply too time consuming for what I have available. But we shall see!
Thanks for these guides! I have been following along and it is coming along fantastically! Before, I just downloaded mod packs because I felt overwhelmed by the amount of overseeing mods and making sure they aren't conflicting with one another. Your guides have helped me feel more confident in modding skyrim!
Great stuff, and following along is possible at a good pace with minor pauses. One thing (probably mentioned before): Would have been sweet if you called out the numbers that you so wisely let the separator names precede. That is what makes me pause it most, and disturbs the flow quite a tad.
@@ADHDecent I'm running a bit of a sh*tbox pc that was handed down to me, can't afford anything else. It's starting to drop fps with everything installed. Is there anything you recommend I do to increase performance or anything I should drop that's particularly intensive to run?
You're tutorial is amazing. I installed Skyrim and used Vortex, but the MCM and other mods were not working. After watching your tutorial and following the instructions, I was able to access MCM with your help! Thanks for the tutorials!
I don't have time this week to play skyrim hope i have time this week or next one i don't have time to play and don't really want to but your vidz make me want to play and enjoy skyrim thanks
Oh yeah a new one. I wonder if it would be possible to post quicker than weekly :S. I want to follow this guide because i find it really clear and easy to follow but i can't wait 2 months^^
@peteriliac3306 you are far too kind ;-) I’m honoured :-) @jaceneliot there’s a lot to answering that but to summarise - I write, shoot, record and edit all myself, in my spare time around my day to day responsibilities. Maybe one day…
(if i may say something) @ 4K Stars, heaveon is so big, i woud prefer easy 4k on this big thing because 2.5mb is not that deal. BTY great work and thanks for this guide..you pump very mutch know how in no time...
At the time yeah as it created examples for FOMOD options that are important so it was a nice opportunity to show how they're handled and not to forget them :-)
Hey I love these videos. When i was following the guide i only had the special edition of skyrim but I recently decided i want to install the anniversary edition as well. Will i have to redo this whole process?
HELLL ya man finally got my shit to work thank you! Hoping to see some floura overhauls next I looove me some immersive trees and plants and would wonder what order and what mod you'd recommend. I got a nicer pc finally and get to live out my enb/ go crazy 4k texture dreams :)
Amazing Tuto, thx dude ! I've been trying to install mods for too much hours now...Go until part 9 and then my game got infinite loading. Did a clean reinstall as u show it but now, I can't manage to install the ENB... Got infinite loading screen. I proceed to uninstall ENB, then reinstalled it. Now the game juste act as if ENB doesn't exist, it works, but I can't get ENB. First time modding Skyrim, I don't understand why it's so complicated compared to other games... I would appreciate some help guys, thanx
I think you missed an easy and good one in this episode. Enhanced Blood Textures. Simple yet good. Either way we did add a lot and I think I learned my lesson on adding too much too fast. Cant wait for next week to see where we go from here.
While on immersion I guess there are some others I have liked for years: Wintersun(Adds faiths to the game) and Imperious(Adjusts races and gives them raced based quests). On a lesser immersion side I use the Character Creation Overhaul to make a more unique character or one based on the classes from Morrowind and Oblivion.
EBT is on the list but as you well said, too much too fast and it can be problematic. I try to choose a selection of simple and advanced with each stage to avoid any issues anyone could face :-)
i've been following this series and i'm so grateful!!!!! question though... if within MOD2 the version is in red.. is it broken?? I thought I was downloading the correct versions but there are a handful that are showing up red. will this break my installation?
-how to make nighttime more visible with ELFX? i cant see anything also i cant see the sky lol- nvm everything work fine and still loving it, just the darkness scare me and wish i can adjust the darkness
Great work as always, much appreciated. A quick question, which version of powerofthree's Papyrus Extender for game version 1.6.1170 ? The one that supports AE 1.6.1130+ ONLY ? Keep it coming your selection is awesome and the guide by far the most comprehensive on all of YT.
There doesn't seem to be a version for 1170 which is common and annoying amongst these weird fixy/tweaky/whatever mods that everyone's like must install but no idea what they do lol. There are people in the comments saying "it" works with 1170 but refraining from stating which version specifically. Guess I'll skip it until until later maybe.
When I install the ELFX I dont get up the popup to choose ENB ELFX Meshes. When I install the next one for ENB users it asks to overwrite or replace the previous.
Hey bro! Been following the series for a while! Really appreciate you helping guys like me that are new to this. After finishing following this vid i loaded up skyrim to check what it looked lik hoping to see those amazing night time stars and galaxies. But for some reason my night times are now completely pitch black. no stars, no light. Can't even see my character. Game definitely running as i can see the torch fires of whiterun about 10e metres away. I tried turning off 4k stars and galaxies but that didnt change anything. I tried time skipping to check different nights but all are the same completely pitch black cant even see my character? Is this elfx lighting issue? is this something that maybe gets fixed in a following video? Not sure whether to carry on following the videos or wait here to find a fix :)
Appreciate the kind words bro thank you. This sounds like an ENB issue. So you can open the menu and tweak the settings to be brighter or you can remove it if you wish. But that's what's making it dark
@@ADHDecent Hey man thanks for the help! I tweaked the ENB settings and it helped a little but I could still not see the 4k stars and galaxies. After unchecking 'Enhanced Lights and FX', 'ELFX Fixes' and 'ELFX - Exterior Fixes' I can now see at night time and I can see the stars and galaxies as intended. After re-checking just Enhanced Lights and FX on its own the night is pitch black again and no stars and galaxies. I don't mind continuing with the series if the fix for this issue doesn't seem obvious. Do you think I'll be able to continue? Maybe I should just hand select a couple more mods and be happy with what I've got?
1. How do you choose which mods you're going to showcase here? Did you know which ones you'd want to do when you began this series? 2. Would you recommend those of us following these videos to wait until the end of the series to play, or to play with what you've given us in the meantime? 3. Also, do we need to run Nemesis again after this video's installations?
1. Many are chosen before hand. However as the series progresses, some are removed or changed based on their interactions with each other or their current version status with the game version. I also try to listen as much as possible to requests from viewers which can change the path planned 2. Entirely up to you there. If you feel like you’ve covered what you want, feel free to start your own journey however I cannot provide any help if you encounter errors as I would not have tested that myself. 3. As mentioned above, there are no animation mods in this episode so it is not necessary to run Nemesis this time. However, it’s a good habit to run it before each launch if you’re able to as it doesn’t take long and you may forget when it’s needed at some point.
Hey, I'm having some trouble with the TCIY Patches. I already followed your instruction but after sorting it out I still find the error. I'm loving the tutorials so far! Thank you.
EDIT: Thank you for pointing this out. This was an oversight of mine after a script revision. I have pinned a comment, blurred the video and added a card. I appreciate the heads up as I wouldn’t have realised.
We all make mistakes. We’re only human :-) it’s more important to me that everyone has the correct information than I appear faultless. I’m grateful to you for noticing and mentioning it :-)
hi Great guide. But im a little stuck. Downloaded Power of 3 Tweaks and double clicked. Checked manual and it says data not valid. DO you have any idea. Thanks. Sorry to bother you.
Im LOVING this series, its helping me learn to mod well! I have a question if anyone can answer, when I load into the game i dont see the sky with the galaxies. Do i need to make a new game or something. Ive tried reinstalling and checking all the possibilities as i can think of. Any help would be wonderful!
I got it figured out! ugh turns out the night sky was just too cloudy to see anything at all LOL. Used a command to clear weather and found the beautiful sky!
Thanks Again... When I was to instal Clean Menu, one of the requisites was a MOD that randomizes imagens in the load screen, it said it would change some game folder files, so I gave up instaling...
As my PC is quite dated, I have to choose what my PC can handle until I can upgrade which does have an impact on the direction I take things for now. But it’s also good to choose a middle ground when covering these things anyway for the larger part of the community who may not have the latest rigs
Thank you for the guide, It's very clear to follow and organised! (Btw, I downloaded a lot of mods from Vortex and I'm wondering if its possible to transfer them to MO2? I saved mod folder so that it's safe for me to delete Vortex but I would like to hear someone advice on this before I figure out and go wrong.)
Appreciate the kind words thank you! You’re better off downloading them again into MO2 but if you go to your Nexus Mods profile you can see your download history and go from there :-)
@@ADHDecent thanks for your comment, time to download 700 mods again, any advice for me before I start downloading them? I love your video and they help me start MO2 because I want over 1000 mods, I got some of them by looking at other players’ mods
Hey I love all of it but I really do hope you combat mods because well it’s really hard to install them and animations for walking and running and attacking
everytime i run nemesis it creates additional files in overwrite folder. do i need to create a different mod within MO2 for the nemesis overwrite files each time i run it ? thanks
IIRC, FOMOD is originally a Fallout modding term that appears to have carried across to Skyrim (and maybe others Im not sure) My guess would be something along the lines of FallOutMOD or something to that extent
Is it OK if I skip the graphics enhancer mods? I already skipped the ENB episode, Dragon Claw Textures and stage three of this episode since my PC is low-end.
Are these mods for the VR version of the game or just the desktop version? Or do they work for both? I intend to purchase and mod Skyrim VR, so if I can do all of this plus what you've covered in your other videos, I may never leave virtual reality 😅
Hello Sir. Thanks for a awesome video again but i am facing a issue after ELFX mod the nights are too dark i am not able to see anything how to fix it.
could you do a tutorial on how to install the mod "legacy of the dragonborn". i don't want to mess up the progress i made till now by installing it the wrong way
hi how to fix warning version for mod Main Menu Spinning Skyrim Emblem? i saw on ur video you have the warning too, but suddenly it's fixed on ur video,, how?
Im not sure what warning you're referring to. If I had it in the video then it's likely a version number issue which I cover in a later video in this series
@@ADHDecent thanks you. I find a solution. Just clear all main files with SSE cleaner. And the problem is gone away. :) please make a vid for simple dual wielding. Because i think showing all weapons you use on your Charakter should be shown but i cant get this mod to work...
Hi, thanks for the great work. Live Another Life Extension does not work for me. When i install the mod it says: 'No valid game data'. Any help for me? Thank you
Question: lots of finish mods run fine throughout many updates until v1.1130 releases (now is v1.1170 bc i just fresh install it), so how to downgrade it and how can i know it compatible to downgrade version (such as UI mod A matter of time: the same v1.1130 but some can run and some can't)? Also, will u intent to make a video about how to downgrade skyrim in the future?
Everything was perfect until this video. Nights are so dark, i can't see ANYTHING at all. Campfire gives light around but few steps further it's dark like in a cave. And i can't see the modded sky. And mod itself is installed like in a video
I wonder why not using LUX. There is like a lot of people saying it's the best/next gen light mod. Is it possible to differ from your mod and choose Lux ? Plus it's a little bit confusing that you said to tick boxes but didn't do >< What about "main ambiance" ?
I may have cut the shot shorter than intended in that case but I make sure the script will state which boxes to tick if it’s important so as long as you follow what’s being said you’ll be okay. As for LUX, there are a number of choices for many elements when it comes to modding. I try working with what is best suited for those watching and cover the aspects of modding I can to allow others to then make those choices themselves.
@@ADHDecent I understand. Another question : is there any reasons you guide us to install mods pretty randomly ? I mean it maybe isn't that random but i feel we install some animation mods, texture mods or gameplay mods but i can't understand the logic yet. Is there any or do you just follow your feels ? Understand me well : it's totally ok for me and i guess for everyone but i just wonder why you don't do like "this video about textures, this about animations, this one about gameplay". About LUX, could you (or not) consider propose some choices (like meteo/lighting/textures pack) in you tutorial or will you stick with one version ?
@jaceneliot it’s certainly not random :-) there’s a few different reasons involved - compatibility at the moment with current versions, popularity, impact on the hardware/demand (I try to find a middle ground to allow as many as possible to follow), it’s installation and mod priority and whether said mods are required for other mods down the line. It’s also the series itself - it’s not about my choices as such. It’s about showing *how* to mod. So at any point someone can take their own route if they wish but also they will know *how* to cover areas regardless of which unique mod they choose. This includes covering conflicts and errors for example. It’s a lot to try to consider when writing and I try to make it flow as much as possible for what the aim of the series is :-) EDIT: just to add, some parts are boring sadly. I want to make it interesting and enjoyable so another element is to mix good and boring like meat & veg! Makes it less of a task to complete and more of an experience :-)
I'm using MOD2 for context. Two things if anyone can help: 1. Alternate Beginnings Live Another Life Exstention, once installed, says it did not download correctly but the version number shows up green as an up to date version. 2. When I run Skyrim SE through SKES rather it's a new game or continue, everything blinks like a light blinking effect and then just becomes blurry I followed all the steps and can't figure it out.
First uninstall the New Beginnings extension, then when installing it again go to manual, right click on the data with the blue tick and select “set as directory” it should fix it
I'm having a problem. After downloading and installing Patch Hub, there are no changes for Book covers skyrim and cutting room floor requiring a patch? what should I do?
I'm getting the error: Loot failed. Exit code was: 0xc0000135. It seems my LOOT is not running when i press sort. Can't fix it properly, tried a bunch of fixes but still not working. If anyone can help i would be glad.
I had the same issue in episode 4 on LOOT. ADHDecents' response was: 0x0000135 is a .NET framework error. It means you need to download and install the .NET framework required. MO2’s LOOT function is working. Hope this helps, and this solved my issue. Hope it works for you
It’s more like making the use of light sources at night more beneficial and strategical. Whilst there are many darker areas, we will build on the use of light and the strength of light to provide a greater variance between the overall ambience of a city compared to the wild. So as we tweak things like ENB gradients and colour profiles, the world of Skyrim will become more intriguing to explore.
@@gearfriedtheswmas You can adjust the ambient light in the ENB menu, some weather mods overrule the changes to ambient lighting so you have to check the "Ignore weather" option on the ENB menu
whenever I run the sort button I get this at the top..."Could not check or read potential symlink path "E:/SkyrimAE Modding Folder/MO2 Instances/profiles/JohannaRose": symlink_status: The parameter is incorrect.: "E:/SkyrimAE Modding Folder/MO2 Instances/profiles/JohannaRose"
