Some have complained about rust on the macro. Have not had the gun itself rust but have had a spot on my spare mag develop after months of warm-weather carry in a side pocket that looked like surface rust. It removed easily with lube and steel wool. My advice is wipe down carry weapons with some sort of lube. I use G96 gun treatment on a microfiber cloth about every week to two weeks. Wipe down the slide, sights and magazine and then wipe - off.
I dont know if somebody else mentioned this, but for your TLR7 sub, the correct key you need is number "4" to get the light in the correct position. Dont know if this guy got a bad batch, but #4 will work. No need to buy another component that you dont necessarily need.
So I just ordered the tlr -7 sub with 1913s.. is the number 4 included with that or are you saying you will need to get the #4 separately? I’ve heard that it comes with the correct one and I’ve seen people say it doesn’t fit from what’s included in the box but I can’t get a definitive answer 🤷♂️
@@Singlebarrel2323 The 4 key will work but not as good fit as the additional key you can get from TD. The cost is very small I would recommend trying them both.
@bfgprecision you mentioned in the video that the silver ring should line up with the end of the slide. Like I said...I don't know if you got a bad set of keys, streamlight revamped them, or none of the above, but key 4 puts my sub back as far as physically possible with the silver ring aligned with the end of the slide.
I’ve got roughly 1,300 rounds through my XMacro. Winchester 115 grain FMJ failed 3 times. One primer would not fire after a couple of attempts and 2 of them absolutely would not fully feed. Probably 400 rounds of Winchester and the rest was a few hundred rounds of random hollow points, sig ammo and a mix of federal and whatever was affordable in 115 FMJ range ammo No issues with anything else. I had minor corrosion issues but after oiling the slide a few times it’s perfect. Kinda like seasoning a skillet. Shouldn’t be necessary at the price point but not a big deal. I love mine and carry it every day 10-12 hours.
It seems like everyone that has rust issues it stems from the rear sight/ slot for it. I oil that area so no issues know. Had a couple other guns that tended to rust at certain points. Not great that we have to do this wondering if it’s a supplier issue?
Tactical Development makes a mag base that is fully rounded…and also a mag extension for +2…I have both on my XMacro mags..+2 for carry and flats for the other 4
I installed the tactical development flat aluminum base plates on my magazines and they get rid of any pinch points. They also make the pistol look a lot better.
I got the tac ops a couple weeks ago and I love it. I sold the standard macro because it feels like it shoots the same. I mainly wanted the tac ops so'z I can put a true threaded barrel in. Otherwise I have mostly the same setup. Love theses guns with the 17 rnds man! Cool video!
I found there was a difference but to each his own. I believe the difference not large. Of course if you build out a xtops macro with a ppm comp it will perform better than a regular macro. You can have more malfunctions though. None so far with my macro.
@ExOhz Yes is it a screw on barrel type. PPPM or Parker Mountain Machine. They sell barrel/ comp combos. Around 370 I believe depending on the application.
I have the stock all-black version. Early on I upgraded the mag baseplates with Tactical Development's alloy version in the standard and +2 variants. Theyre not compatible with the mag-well but they work well, look and feel good, remove the pinch poinf and can easily be stripped - out with the indents on each side. They do periodically run out so keep checking back. Hope they start making them in FDE.
I’ve never understood replacing a barrel on a brand new gun. I’ve carried for over 15 years both on my personal time and my career. Had many pistols. Qualified every year with stock barrels and shot courses of fire out to 50 yards. Never been an issue. Just don’t get it.
I’ve run True Precision on a few other P365’s with very good success. I wanted to build out the stainless look and this achieved it. I appreciate your comments also know that this accessory does nothing to change to function of the X MACRO. Thanks for watching and the comment.
Few reasons. First, the witness hole (to verify loaded chamber status) becomes a port that crap vents from onto optics like red dots. Second, the nitride treated barrels don't seem to wear as quickly as PVD finish barrels, Sig's in particular showing wear sooner than other barrels. Third is cosmetic, and BFG precision even stated he was trying to achieve a certain look or color scheme.
I have the same setup but mine has the newer XL slide, gold threaded Zafirri barrel with Herrington arms comp. I did want the TacDev magwell but i can never catch one in stock so i went with the Empire Katana and i can say that it does get rid of that pinch point for sure. Also helps tremendously with reloads. You should look into the Empire Javelin guide rod. It makes the slide very smooth compared to the factory one. Great for comps as well.
Thanks for the info I will definitely look into the magwell and the guiderod/spring. Is the magwell low profile like the TacDev and the TacOps OEM one?
How’s cleaning with the comp? Once you apply the thread lock on there how does the process work for cleaning each time? I have the same setup and was looking for tips
@@bfgprecision I find the Magwell very comfortable for my hands. Its about the same size as the TacDev but it sticks out just a bit more on the front by like a hair or 2. Personally i think the Katana is a little more aesthetically appealing but thats just me.
@@CamOzone the way i clean mine, i just use a bore snake and a few passes with a brush inside the barrel. For the outside, i remove the slide, let the barrel hang and i clean around it as i rotate it as much as possible. A bit tedious at first but you get used to it.
What attachment for your Streamlight TLR7 SUB mount (1913 attachment) did you use and mounting your Holosun EPS carry what did you use, any specific plate or does it come with it.....?
I have a Macro myself and I am getting the Tac Ops variant here shortly and I love the Nightmare look you got going for your Macro. I may do something similar with the tac ops.
Have you seen the new satin finished stainless barrel from True Precision? It comes without the LCI peep hole. It stops carbon/oil residue blowing back up onto the optic. Also-I dissected the sig website and couldn't find the stainless/nickel finished slide stop, takedown lever and the stainless trigger listed. I may have been looking in the wrong area of the site. If you could clarify where I can find those that would be most helpful. Gr8 site and videos-Hope you have continued success! Best wishes.
I ordered a macro tacops. I hope it doesn’t have any rust issues. You should NOT have to wipe a pistol off everyday to keep it from rusting. I have several pistols and none have a bit of rust.
If you live in humid environment during any time of the year at all, I recommend atleast sending your carry magazine bodies in for cerakote. They will rust slowly. I did 2 mag bodies and my slide . I've carried everyday for almost 10 years. I shoot on average about 10k rounds per year between handgun and carbine. Heed my warning. Xmacro is an amazing gun, but there can be surface rust issues
@@l337l0gan thanks for the heads up! Appreciate that advice and I know I’ll be watching for any type of corrosion and I’ll be making another video when I’ve had a chance to carry and shoot it for some time. Thanks for your comment and got watching!
very nice build going for something similar with my non comp x macro! i only wish sig made the extended slide catch in nickel! check our slr magwell and floorplates
How about adding links to the specific things you are recommending exactly because I am a little lost. Thanks if you can do that. Especially for the light and the specific key you are referring to.
Here is the link to the Tact Dev site where you can find the key and magwell. The EPS is pretty easy to find and the internals can be purchased directly through SIG on their site. tactical.dev/collections/p365-x-macro
Is it the m3 x 0.5 10mm screws from fdezworks? Edit: also I have the tacops and I do believe the mag well that comes with it and the one from dev do look the same or very similar
I had another quick question. Did you do the controls kit changes yourself and if so was it difficult? Or did you have a gunsmith do the mod for you? I have never cleaned/disassembled my firearm to do something like this. If you did the mod, would you post a video of the procedure?
Haven't seen the TacDev magwell in person but it looks VERY similar to the TacOps. I think I'll eventually do it too. Magwell, ext. slide release, n a light will set me for a bit. Still doing my research for a green dot. Need a holster too but dont wanna replace it after the light/optic. It's a recent acquisition lol.
Yeah going to a light set up changes a lot. I’m doing it right now with the XMACRO. Going from my ZEV P365 to the X MACRO. Need to put a bunch of rounds through it first then put it in my EDC rotation. During that time I’m looking at holsters. Probably going with the Axis Elite T1C AIWB. Thanks for the comment and watching!
@@bfgprecision Same, after a handful of good range days i'll put stuff in the cart. Everything about it is a 1st for me, 1st 9mm, 1st striker, 1st polymer frame, and it will be the 1st time using a light AND 1st time w/a dot (on a pistol)! You say adding a light changes a lot,... how so? Just referring to the change in balance point?
@@superrad1659 a light from a functional perspective is another device you need to become proficient at using. When you draw you have to add an action to your motion. It’s seems simple and it is, but it warrants repetition during training. Also, in dealing with equipment your holsters will need to be swapped out with new light bearing holsters if you haven’t had them set up for a light. When you mount a light not only does the opening need to be bigger but the retention goes from the trigger guard to the light itself. Just a couple of things to consider, neither should detract you from that set up but you should be aware. Hope that helps.
@@bfgprecision i was aware of the holster caveat but i guess I never put much thought into the memory/movement training part of it... Something to think about for sure, thx! Side note, thinking about a TLR7 variant or an Olight Baldr mini(?)... Any experience/recommendations?
@@superrad1659 I really like OLIGHT! I have had a few of them and never had any issues. They are very reasonably priced, easy to charge and reliable. I went with the TLR7 Sub on the X MACRO because of function and looks, it just looks like it was made for it. Other than that the OLIGHT would be fine. To be honest though I do not have any experience with it on the X MACRO.
Great video, thanks for the ideas. I’m looking at installing the eps carry but have seen some videos in which they add locktight when installing. What is your recommendation?
You got links for everything you got? I just got the normal xmacro with the manual safety. It’s kinda new and confusing but that’s a different story. I’d love to look into some of the stuff you got for mine. But mine has the longer barrel like a Tacops
It’s exactly the same as the OEM one that it comes with I was just adding the nickel color scheme to create the nightmare theme. I needed a flat trigger for another one of my P365 pistols so I’m using the one that came with my X MACRO on that one.
Getting ready to pick one up, just curious if there is any way to switch the slide release to the other side for lefty’s? Can’t find any info. Even though there is a cutout on the other side for it. Thanks
Unfortunately you can’t do that because the slide catch is only able to install on the left side of the FCU. The trigger and trigger bar are installed on the right. It’s the configuration of the FCU itself not the grip module. The cut out on the right side of the grip you may be referring to is the opening for the serial number. That’s the only opening on the grip in that area on the right side. I know many left hand shooters that use this platform and love it so maybe that’s not a deal breaker but you have to be ok with that. Hope this helps, thanks for watching!
I would say just personal preference. For me I find it a bit easier to pick up but its not much different. I have heard the green dot is better for those with eye sight issues. I wear glasses due to astigmatism so I may be getting some benefit with the green dot but I don't think its a huge difference. I have both and they both function great. Hope this helps, thank for watching.
What I can say is that I use an oil as well as a silicone rag to help prevent corrosion. As much as a lubricant oil should be used as a corrosion prevention application as well. I haven't had any issues with any of my P365 firearms or any other firearm I own but I am very consistent in cleaning as well as periodic oil and/or silicone applications for anti-corrosion maintenance. I have a good video on maintenance you can reference as well. Let me know if you have any additional questions, hope this helps. Thanks for watching!
Can we get a link for all those stainless parts? Sig seems to disagree as to whether or not they sell them. Can’t find them anywhere. I could also be an idiot. There’s a pretty high likelihood of that.
I got a stainless mag funnel, threaded barrel, and pins from NDZ. Sig Romeo Zero Elite red dot, StreamLight TLR 7, and an Alien Gear Cloak Tuck 3.5 for it so far. I’m not a huge fan of the trigger, but I tend to keep factory triggers on my EDC. I just feel the obviously anticipated difference between that trigger and some of my higher end stuff I use at the range and on my main battle rifle, is all. For those of us really living that edc life: This thing is a joy to carry so far!
I purchased the tacops a month ago and put the TRL7 on it. With it all the way back touching the trigger guard, the buttons on the rear of the light catch the tip of my finger and interferes with my getting to the trigger. So I used the adapter the moves the light forward eighth inch so that the buttons are just on the outside of the trigger guard. Just curious if anyone else experienced that?
Here is the link, keep in mind that the magazine release is not for the XMACRO so you can't use it but everything else you can swap out. www.sigsauer.com/p365x-controls-parts-kit-nickel.html
I carry appendix and my EDC setup is the XMACRO with the TLR Sub and Holosun EPS Carry and I use a T1C Axis Elite holster with an extended extra magazine sidecar. Hope this helps!
@@oceres I’m not too crazy about the Bullseye! Had a hard time with temp. On the other hand at Home I have the BFG (no pun) 2500 and that thing is a beast, absolutely phenomenal no complaints at all!!
I disagree with a lot here. Why buy new barrel and slide controls when you can cerakote originals? Why not add gas pedal to your tlr7 and why not Mcarbo trigger that IMPROVES functionality and not just the look. No aftermarket backstrap?? Not even wilson combat grip? Idk man, this video missed a lot and spent money on unnecessary stuff
I've put around 7 million rounds through my sig. I'm having trouble keeping up it's crazy man just ups coming, unloading heavy boxes. the guy wants to kill me. every day 4,5 boxes weighing a hundred pounds. I just put the Neecor 400 rifle scope and the x4-2000 10" sexdildo front grip. I also got the TangWang fuzzy flat pink leapord skin trigger and one of those circus flasthlights taped to the top of the slide so I can see at night. Great gun!
The X MACRO slide is the same as the XL. Dimensionally it should it would take away the comp functionality as the barrel would be too long for the integrated comp to function. If you want that look maybe go with the Tac Ops version. Thanks for the comment.
