Dude thank you! Thats why I did it!

I did that to my decomp when I built my vespas. I used a short piece of carb overflow tube to connect to the valve and a screw in the other side to connect to the drill since I didn't have the clearance for the drill in the head like you had. Just like that!

That's perfect! No more leaky decomp!

I used valve grinding compound and twisted the decomp by hand. Seems to have worked pretty well, though it did take a few minutes.

@@bjf10doing it by hand is much better than using a drill. The high single direction speed cuts way too much, and leaves circular trenches around the valve and seat. When you do it by hand, you get a smoother and more precise cut.you should never use a drill

I did this to my black bike, took almost 100 degrees off the top. Killer mod because I can crush hills now without worrying. I initially did it just like this, widening the stud holes and I had the decomp welded shut. But now treats just sells the hobbit modded, decomp-free head.

They were sold out of the heads. And I had this spare. Also I like the decomp for easy pedal starts. But welded decomp and pull start is probably the best way to do it

Hyped to hear that it took off so much heat. WOT my hobbits slowly climbs in temp, I’m hoping this will solve for it. I also think my DR kit now has 4000miles on it and it might be on its last leg.

Good lord you got grinding compound on the shaft. ONLY PUT GRINDING COMPOUND ON THE VALVE SEAT SURFACE!

Also wondering the same thing. I have all my parts lined up so I’m doing this regardless but would love to hear more about your results

Why did Lee and Graham tell you not to use that head?

They said I wouldn't be able to dremel straight enough.

@@Corn-ped I would've just listened to them, and never gotten anything done.
