A Rio inspired city in progress! My Twitter - / hethendirty My Reddit - / dirtyhyt Music by EpidemicSound.com #Citiesskylines #citiesskylines2 #riodejaneiro
Building a Stadium for your brazilian-inspired city on the 10 years anniversary of 7x1 is certainly something hahaha That said, it came out AMAZING! Great job! Another idea would be a sports complex around the stadium, with swimming pools, track fields etc, but I liked the storefronts around the stadium as well. On the grandiose curved concrete bit, it's quite similar to some modernist landmarks we have in Brazil, specially those by Oscar Niemeyer. Ironically (and despite Brazil's temperatures) most of these have very few trees IRL. The colosseum-like structures aren't quite right but it's in the right direction, specially with those shallow pools in the middle. You could maybe add a monument to the area, like those from Latin America Memorial, JK Memorial and others my Oscar Niemeyer so it fits with the 'concrete plaza in Brazil' theme. Finally, I actually liked the 3-story buildings for favelas, they ressemble the more urbanized ones that have fewer shacks and more brick buildings. Have you tried splicing more of those 'actual' buildings together and adding some of your favela-like shacks in between them? It will look like favelas such as Heliopolis in São Paulo - maybe not for that place, but you use that style for another low income neighbourhood in the future. Finally, as a suggestion for the stadium's name, I'll suggest "Maracumbi", a mix of Maracanã (the main stadium in Rio de Janeiro) and Morumbi (de main stadium in São Paulo) or, if you want to mean to Brazilians, call it "Sete-a-um" ("7x1" in portuguese hahaha). Anyway, amazing work!
Man, really, that’s the most detailed build I’ve seen so far in CS2, as a brazilian I just loved it, you’re very talented, well done, u deserve millions of views, hope your pc handles 50 more episodes in rio paulo hahaha
My god you can't stop blowing me away with what you can create in this game. That one wide shot of the city from above felt like I was seeing the real city. It feels so complete and awesome despite not really being as complete. Can't wait for the next episode!
I think keeping the visible paths would be a good idea if this was to be a showpiece garden, probably built mainly for the Olympic games or World Cup that happened at the stadium and having fences would add to the realism since people wouldn't be allowed to walk through it and the fence would add a sense of restriction and protection to it
Holy moly, this city looks awesome. On the other side I have the feeling it's basically a full time job building it, just by watching you placing down the favelas.
Hi! Stadiums are generally named after an important person to a club, and popular called by were they belong, or a popular nickname. E.g. Santos Futebol Clube, Stadium "Urbano Caldeira", someone important in the History club, is called "Vila Belmiro" Because it's situated in Belmiro Village (Village = Vila) Neighborhood. Same with "Morumbi" and similar with "Engenhão".
With that in mind, one sugestion that I have is to call this favela "Monte Verde", since is a mountain (Monte) and have lots of trees (Green = Verde), and then call this stadium Monte Verde Stadium ("Estádio Monte Verde") .
Of the 5 or so CS2 creators I'm subbed to, this is by far the best city of all. Creative concept, attention to detail and execution are what sets this way above the rest. Just amazing work bro. Looking forward to more episodes!
hey modern seating stacks on top of each other. so you could scoot the 2nd level almost parallel and on top of the seats below. (or just have them jut in a little bit) next time i mean, this one looks great
Wow, at first I thought that this was a higly modded CS 1, but after the zoom on this wierd white strips on the road and cars models, I've realized its actually CS 2, which by the way makes me feel more about buying it, altho maybe some time later.
Another great episode! I noticed that you place multiple props until you get the color variation you want. There is a better way to do this. I use a mod called "Asset Variation Changer." By default, it will keep the same color variation when you place down an asset. Then you can use the arrow keys to cycle through the different color variations. It makes it much easier to put assets down in a row with all the same color variation.
Yeah, just love the sunken tram area! Been thinking on a couple of things before coming back to comment: the big football (bonkers work BTW) you could maybe replicate via a giant decal, since they're dead easy to make and get loaded; the other is slightly more complex and involves the Editor, where you can cobble together loads of assets and move and align them way more easily than in-game. So creating the big curve, the stands, etc you could actually make units of them, save those and then use them in-game. Still a bottom line of "Wow!" of course... and makes me wonder if a version of Interlagos will be making an appearance, to complement Sully's Silverstone.
I think you should try to make your own assetts in the game. You can see how on the last Infrastructurist's video. I would take the smallest house, lower it underground, and add the props you use, and also make them low rent. This would help you make the favelas faster and also they would become functional
Yet again, this build is amazing. Earned a sub, keep it up :) By the way, I think it would be cool with a massive complicated spaghetti interchange somewhere in the city, a real concrete jungle. Would fit the brutalist vibe
As a casual player who bought the game from the very beginning but hasn't touched it, I just watched all five episodes of this build straight up. This is amazingly entertaining to watch and hopefully you can continue as the game improves and is being updated each time.
I love how you push this game to its limits, but at the same time, I can see there's still so much this game needs to reach modded CS1 levels. A cool name for the stadium could be: "Amarelo" or "O Amarelo" that means: Yellow or The Yellow one in Portuguese. The team (Atlético Clube Rio Paulo) could wear yellow equipment, hence the name of the stadium
Thanks bro. There's a lot more that CS2 needs....but when it comes it will become the goat. It already looks like real life, imagine what it looks like in 5 years time 👀 Thanks for the name suggestions too!
I definitely prefer the concrete (last) look, the green look just looked a bit wrong, i wasnt a fan of the color of the bushes, as they seemed very white, and without actual grass, i never got unsaw the illusion that it wasnt just some trees and bushes plopped onto a concrete slab. The concrete slab and columns embrace the idea and fit much better imo.
That's insane!!! 😱🤯Really love your work! Love to watch you building a city. I'm a beginner of this game. May i ask why you putting all these props and they are not disappearing?? if i do something like this. When props are overlapping each other, some props will disappearing in a minute...😢😢Really upset about this...
Awesome! Delicia !! CHAMAAA !! (lol) *(we KNOW ur not done but) just lacking color... yellows & reds (flowers (and Planters w/ fruit/flower trees and planters with flowers, flowers, flowers) white flowers and flowered flowers flowering and frolicking x) and vines/crawlers... (ok i'll stop) ...ever say a word so many times, it starts to sound wrong? NOT in this case. rsrsrs
